Korean, born and raised. just get a large airtight container, like Lock&Lock, put all your rice there, if you don't consume as much rice. you can wash your rice with a big whisk, it's okay to do it, doesn't affect tastes, and it helps your hands stay dry. The rinsed rice water you can use as a replacement for soup stock for a number of Korean soups and stews, my own grandma and my aunts use it as such. Aight, that's all from me, stay safe, peace out✌️
If you have plants you can save the rice water and water them with it, its a great natural fertilizer and they love it! Try to use it within 3 days stored in fridge for longer so it doesnt ferment, or you can let it ferment and use it to rinse your hair
I was alienated from my Korean family due to their perception of being too Americanized. I've found a small comfort in watching these videos and I wish good health for you and your kin.
I am Indonesian and we eat rice everyday. Let me tell you, if you want to cook rice, no matter how much rice you want to cook, just fill with water up to the level of the first knuckle of your middle finger and thats it. Put in the rice cooker, cook it and you are done. Its so easy. (Dont forget to wash your rice exactly like in ths video) 😊
Beautiful grandma is real a preciousity...this hands remember my nanny hands I love this hands with so much experience of life and full of stories ❤hernfood looks delicious oh the food of nanny is the best ....a big kisses for this queen and for you dear from Portugal 🇵🇹
I’m Hispanic and whenever I make rice I cook some onion, oil, and salt in the pot and it gives it great flavor, but you can’t leave it out for too long because of the onion.
The mixed grains, is that something you can purchase at the store or is that something your grandma puts together? If she makes it, about how much of each grain does she put in the jar? 🙊
Non Asians doesn’t understand why it is important to wash the rice with water but it is important because there are small tiny bugs that will not go out unless you wash it!
"wash you rice 7-8 times" I suppose the variety of rice Koreans eat is much more starchy than the Indian variety. Cause if I do that to any variety of rice found in India, the rice will break down from washing so much.
LOVE Grandma and her rollers!! too cute!
She’s had those roller since forever!!😂❤️
Reminded me of my Gmaw😢❤
Yes! Reminds me of my grandma! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The rice storage is awesome!
My mom uses a 5-gallon bucket 😂
Pretty common anywhere in Asia though.. Especially here IN SEA. Not only in korea😅
I Love how deliberate She is with every detail She is Soo soothing to watch ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I just bought a cuckoo!! I need to make rice but I haven't gotten around to it lol
I love your rice cooker
Yes washing rice multiple times is super important. 🙏🏽❤️
For what?
@@WooHooLaLato clean the rice:)
But then you get rid of all that nice starch. Hard pass for me.
@@luckycatdad8369the starch makes it goopy..
@@AliCatt777 it's never made mine goopy. I make rice multiple times per month.
Oh, she's fabulous. Ask your grandma if she wants to adopt me, lol
I want to eat food prepared by your grandmother 😊
What kind of grain & the name brand she uses?
We use the Rhee Chun rice brand
Amazon. There's a 7-grain & a 12-grain I believe.
Oh wow! Where do I get that rice storage thingy from?!? It's perfect for where I live. 👍🏾😁👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
also, water and rice ratio differs on the type of rice you use too. usually a 1:1 but there are times that rice need less water or more water.
The mixed grains, is that something you can purchase at the store or is that something your grandma puts together?
If she makes it, about how much of each grain does she put in the jar? 🙊
You can find at the grocery store. There is so many types of rice on the market now.
lol looks like an old pc tower from the old days windows 98 days ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That’s my dream rice cooker
and now, I miss my Granny Irma.
Yes!!!! Please WASH the rice before cooking.
I want a Korean grandma
Yum !!
She cook her rice like my mother did except for the rice steamer,❤
Lol I do the finger measuring method too
Praise the lord
Apparently when you store your rice this good, you can use your rice water from washing to bathe.
My friend just bought me a bowl that is part bowl part strainer. It is the best tool for cleaning rice. I don't know how I did it before.
Non Asians doesn’t understand why it is important to wash the rice with water but it is important because there are small tiny bugs that will not go out unless you wash it!
My grandma is 97 and in the hospital, she can’t get comfortable or breathe well on her own. I’ll miss her but I hope God calls her home.
Don't nobody talk stank about Halmeoni's rice! I love you Halmeoni!❤
Same sila ng rice ng Korean boss ko
My mom has the same pink ridged bowl strainer hahahahah
Finger tip method- thanks. 😊❤
What is that thing u drink before ur meal, can u please tell???
I have a rice container like that too 😄 along with my 5 cup Zojirushi rice cooker. Asians can't live without both 😄
Rinse rice until the starch washes out like Grandma does.❤
Can I ask what kind of mixed grains? ❤
Watching beautiful granny while washing my rice for making with chicken kebabs. 🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷
I like that it makes a cuckoo noise
Not the bloom ad 💀
awww 😊 your grandma is so sweet and cute.
What grains were added??
Appreciated
japanese measure machine🔥
Everything is Japan-made.
Japan methods. Japan does best with their rice.
I❤ Jamie..been using his fingers for the last 20+year's.,.,.
That's some rice alright
HAHA yes
Don't forget to fluff it when it is freshly cooked. Otherwise it is lumpy.
What kind of rice is it? Long grain??
God loves you all
Ok now ...what are the grains she adds to the rice?? We want to copy her precisely!!
It’s a mix of black, barley and brown rice grains☺️
@@melon_park Thank you!!
I bought the grain rice and make rice the same way!! It's delicious.@@melon_park
What rice cooker does she use? Mine is about to die 😢😢😢, and I want a bigger one....
"wash you rice 7-8 times"
I suppose the variety of rice Koreans eat is much more starchy than the Indian variety. Cause if I do that to any variety of rice found in India, the rice will break down from washing so much.
Where can we buy mixed grains?
Whats that green stuff you drank
I am not sure how to do the finger tip measurement. Can you explain for me? Thank you ❤
This is Sticky rice 🍚 in India we eat both sticky and non sticky rice i personally prefer non sticky rice ❤
I was always taught to wash the rice 3x! Not that the rice water had to be clear
What are the mixed grains that you use?
The finger tip method has been scientifically proven to work every time ❤
Hey genuine question, what is the purpose of rinsing the rice until it’s clear?? I always was confused about that part
Removes starch. Allows the rice to not become mushy and clump together. Also helps not stick to the bottom of the pan or pot
Girl that rice dispenser last for years we had ours over 10
