Hi Saam, we're sorry we are not sure we fully understand your question. Are you currently residing outside of Canada looking to buy in Coquitlam? If you are residing outside of Canada and you do not hold a Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, starting January 2023 a non-resident of Canada will not be able to purchase in Canada due to a new Act being implemented. Hi.well u got my consensus very well oh then how is it possible for any outsider to purchase a property in Canada?is there any procedure?actually I want to came to Canada and settle there.but first of all I want to hv my own house.plz do reply m.
For the time this Act is in effect, unfortunately foreign buyers will not be able to purchase a property in Canada. The Act is effective January 1, 2023 and at this time set to stay in force for two years. In order to purchase a property in Canada while this Act is in effect you would have to fall under one of the following categories: (a) a temporary resident within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act who satisfies prescribed conditions; (b) a protected person within the meaning of subsection 95(2) of that Act; (c) an individual who is a non-Canadian and who purchases residential property in Canada with their spouse or common-law partner if the spouse or common law-partner is a Canadian citizen, person registered as an Indian under the Indian Act, permanent resident or person referred to in paragraph (a) or (b); or (d) a person of a prescribed class of persons. @@saamsaam7406 Hello Sam. I don't believe that as a teacher you would qualify under the exemption unfortunately, so I would recommend to reach out to an immigration lawyer to see your options. Unless you qualify, you will not be able to purchase property for 2 years, or as otherwise extended.
