A little credit to Grant Sarver (deceased) who put the sideways groove in his Off Center Forge tongs please.. Been trying to imitate either his or Brian Brazeal's universal type tong but haven't gotten it down yet. If you do,share a video if you will. thanks..
I actually tried to find out who deserves credit for making combination jaws. Thanks. I am very familiar with Brain Brazeal's work and phenomenal talent. I will look into the universal type tong. Thanks for sharing, Brent
@@brentboykin9493 Hey Brent: I first saw the tongs as a Brian Brazeal invention. Grant was a MASTER fabricator and construction genius. He made machines to make machines. When I asked him for a book recommendation he recommended "Lilico". I glanced at it for years before I realized it's value..It is an old book that basically shows how metal moves.. I'm an old man now and down to playing at the forge for about an hour....Couldn't do a thing without my 1908 Star power hammer...
Min 6:35 with captions on "... you need to leave plenty of material for your balls....". I don't recall having the pleasure, but thanks for the compliment anyway!!
I'm in south Louisiana so most times my roll up doors are open and it gives adequate air flow. My shop is also fairly large with 6 roll up doors. If you are using any forge in a small enclosed area a vent system should be considered. And make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector.
That combo die is the ticket. Makes a killer jaw. Thanks for taking us along 👍.
I enjoy making tools to make tools. 😀Thanks for watching, Brent
Nice work, always handy to be able to hold stock in 2 directions
Definitely. I've made several pairs at this point and I am enjoying using them. Thanks for subscribing, Brent
That is one of the finest videoed I have watched in a long time. Exceptional use of jigs and dies to improve not only the tool but your use of time.
What a great compliment! Definitely glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks, Brent

Hi Brent, thanks for sharing and very nice work.
Are you selling those little guys somewhere?
Doug, Thanks for watching and Thank you kindly. Unfortunately I don't sell my projects, I've already ruined a couple good hobbies like that :). Brent
@@brentboykin9493 I very much understand that. Keep up the good work
what ventilation system do you have with the gas forge being inside?

Thanks for getting back to me. I asked the question because I got carbon monoxide years back and all most died just wanted you to be careful!
