- Alright Babies, the years of 1984-1989 here we have part 2 of Chaka's Background Singers: if your were missing Sandra St. Victor, Brenda White-King and Lisa Fisher along with Mark Stevens (Chaka's brother)

Thank u for posting this great Chaka footage!!..just wanted to note Lisa Fischer started singing with Chaka in 1985. The girls on Saturday Night Live in 1984 with Chaka are Vesta, Sandra & Brenda...but make no mistake Lisa and all those young ladies were phenomenal....they had to be. Take care!

Lisa could sing circles around 'em... but otherwise Chaka was great as a stage performer, jazzy singer too "when" she could and did bring her A-game. Also nah, you didn't have to be great to sing with Chaka... she was more like could you hang with my life on/off stage lol that was it basically it seems.
Absurd. All of Chaka's backgrounds have been great. As if she was looking for friends and not bonafide singers. All those women were powerhouses. Please tell us anyone that hasn't been in their on right...well wait.
@@septemberjanuary4636 I've read her book, seen her in 2019 and met her then. I saw her again last November in 2022. Her backup singers are sometimes ok and sometimes really good. Usually all referrals or from her music director it seems. Some stay awhile too. Typical music industry things. Sometimes you want to work with those you feel comfortable with via vetted referrals/lucky chance/like-ability factor/timing and can do a very decent job...it's not that they have to be the greatest ever always... I'm not even a fan. I just wish her the best and enjoy her when she can bring her A-game or best.
