can someone help me i downloaded from github and extracted the files however its still abunch of files and idk how to turn it into opentrack and aitrack please help
I don't cover it in the video because no offense it's really basic stuff. You do NOT download the source files you don't need to compile it yourself. Download the opentrack 2023.3.0-win32-setup.exe and install that as software in Windows. AI Track you want to click on assets in github and get the aitrackv0.7.1.zip, extract it somewhere and run the AI Track.exe to launch it.
@Honosuseri no offense taken im very new to stuff like this so I'm probably gonna seem really stupid asking questions however I can't learn anything if I don't ask.
It's all good, I just didn't want the video to be longer than it needed to be. There are no stupid questions, just stupid people who don't ask questions! All the best with it, hopefully my reply has now got you on track
This worked great for me for a couple months, but now I can’t get it to track in-game. Opentrack and aitrack work great on their own but I can’t get dcs to pick up any input. I have checked all my settings in dcs and trackir is enabled and all other settings seem good
Hmmmm strange. Perhaps a recent update with DCS has caused problems. I haven't played it in a long time and would need to reinstall to test it. Maybe check their forums, see if anyone else has a solution
question after setting it up the camera get's twitchy when i am not moving my head is there anything i can do i tried playing around with curves and sensitivity but the issue still presists
I have a Logitech C920. That's quite expensive but I do use it for video calls etc. Prices vary around the world so I can't really recommend just one particular webcam.
You're welcome. As you see in the video I'm not even using the full 1080p resolution of my webcam, so you shouldn't need anything too fancy. All the best with it, have fun!
Guys are you able to record your games with running webcam during using this headTracking ? Even when i use 2 different camera that one of them for tracking other is for webcam in game record video. But in any way when you run headtracking you can't use your other webcam properly and freezen headtracking or stop. Have you ever had this problem ?
I keep meaning to give Arma 3 a go. I used to play Operation Flashpoint waaaay back in the day, just always seem to forget about Arma. Thanks for letting me know the video helped you out
Any idea why it doesent respond to my Game (Elite Dangerous) It works in theorie, i could make all the settings, and the Squid is moving how i want to. but i somehow cant make it run ingame. 🤔
Then there must be a setting in game to enable it, if it's not working automatically. I don't personally use it in Elite Dangerous as I play it in VR, which is a 3D experience along with the head tracking. I can't cover every game/sim and how it enables headtracking. This video is for the headtracking software.
@@Honosuseri Yea my neighbour did lend me his 3D Google for a while. but i somehow dont find my Buttons when i wear it 🤣, so i thought that head tracking could be an option. But i havent seen one Person use this one for Elite, everyone is using the Tobii in Elite. that open Source might not work here. atlest i couldent figgre it out. 🤔
The trick with VR is to use Voice Attack (it's really cheap software), then you can speak to get things done. HCS Voicepacks are a nice addition adding famous sci-fi actors who speak back to you as the Ship's AI, it also takes care of binding the keys and the voice commands for you. Can't promise to do it today but I'll reinstall ED and see what happens with Opentrack.
I can’t get aitrack to launch. It stays white until I click it. It then turns black until I click it again, where it returns to white. If I click it a third time the Microsoft crashed alert pops up. Please help!!! 🙏🏼
Hard to say. Uninstall it and try an older version from Github. Some people have said Opentrack is reported as having a Trojan by their Antivirus (it's a false positive), perhaps AITrack is doing the same and your PC is trying to protect your system. I've not had any issues so can't reproduce your problem to fix it.
@@Honosuseri I’ve tested all the way back to 0.6.3 of aitrack and they all do the same. I’ve even ran them as administrator ( which did make me nervous ) but still doesn’t work. Open track opens up fine though.
@@skytwoplayz9649 Forget about AITrack then. Try using Neural Net Tracker instead as an input it's built in to Opentrack. Basically it does the same thing, I just found AITrack a little better.
Go to settings then Controls. Look for the TrackIR column (you might need to move over to the right), there's a small down arrow in the tab. Click it and make sure it's NOT disabled!
Is anybody else having the problem of low sensitivity, and when i look down it gets super close to the camera? ive been having this problem for a while
Rip trying to do this with a full beard... my aitrack isnt even mapping my face lol. guess ima have to dish out the money for a trackir or something similar like a delanclip.
Try neural net tracker instead under the inputs in Opentrack, it's similar to AI track. There's another option to print an image and stick it to a cap, can't recall it's name right now. I'll reply later after work when I can remember it.
It's "Aruco" github.com/opentrack/opentrack/blob/unstable/contrib/aruco/test3.png. Print the image and fix it to something on your head. Select Aruco as the input in Opentrack.
I tried VR and it was just super buggy and just didnt work. I needed so much tweaking and even then I needed more equipment and sooner or later I would be dedicating my time and money to that. I don't have time for that so head-tracking seems like the next best solution.
That's fair enough and why I did this video, so people can have head tracking with a monitor cheaply. I still prefer flying in VR however as they release new headsets, they keep increasing in resolution making them harder to run in PCVR. High end GPUs are needed which do cost silly money and limits the user base unfortunately.
It's up to you. My c920 is not tracking at 1080p BUT I do use it for calls and capturing video for RUclips where I want that higher quality. So to me it made sense to own a half decent webcam, you can try cheaper webcams but I have no experience using them with AITrack and Opentrack.
Someone can help me? The problem for me is: how to make it works in dcs now? I start the game with "Open track" and "Ai track" working but nothing happen inside dcs... what i have to do?
I didn't have to do anything in DCS. Check both AI Track & Opentrack are tracking, that you started them. In DCS controls look for the TrackIR column, click on the small marker next to it and ensure "disabled" is NOT ticked.
@@Honosuseri thanks so much. its working now. and really thank you for the video. Still not sure to use it but i will try for sure... i set my center button of the mouse for switch to clicable/moving and it works for me... also because i come from old simulators like eurofighter, f16 and f22... not tracking in early 2000 so i think im pretty use to :)
Go to settings then Controls. Look for the TrackIR column (you might need to move over to the right), there's a small down arrow in the tab. Click it and make sure it's NOT disabled!
@@Honosuseri Strange. I tried it out again after a couple weeks and it is no longer controlling my view in game. Any reason this issue may have occurred? It looks like AITrack is working with my camera but Opentrack is not getting the data. FIXED: I had changed my local IP by accident and reset it in AITrack
I don't think this would work on the modified ps3 cams, that are used with ir sensors, but now they have much better cams of course. If the camera is got the light filter installed in it already.
The PS3 Eye camera is NOT a webcam. People do use the Eye cam to make their own DIY Track IR solutions. This video isn't about that it's for anyone to use their generic webcam, no DIY skills needed.
Then perhaps you have anti virus software that decided to delete the file. There is no virus or malware but it can be flagged as a false positive. I've had no issues with Windows built in security measures. If you can't get AI track, Opentrack has "Neural Net Tracker" built in as another option. Select that instead of "UDP over Network".
Correct output stays the same. Neural net tracker as input click on the icon next to it to configure. You might find you don't need to invert the pitch axis like I did for AItrack. You'll still want to tweak the mappings in Opentrack to tune the sensitivity.
I know I'm a *bit* late, but I've recently been trying to get this to work with war thunder, with little success. Pretty much all other guides aren't helpful and this one has gotten me the furthest. Is there a specific output I'm supposed to select or something?
I added that info to the pinned comment for both Part 1 & 2 videos. I'm not able to cover every single game/sim and how they enable headtracking, I just happened to use DCS to demo and test for these videos.
Shouldn't matter which one you use. Setup is for installing, portable is if you want to just run it from a USB drive on different machines for example.
Go to settings then Controls. Look for the TrackIR column (you might need to move over to the right), there's a small down arrow in the tab. Click it and make sure it's NOT disabled!
Getting frustrated. I used to be able to use mouse to look around with a left handed stick. Ever since I got the Gladiator NXT Evo, my right hand is now fully occupied. My tracking is so sensitive no matter the curves and it is nowhere near as smooth as yours or some other people's... Edit: I have a good system too with nothing really running besides this... 3060ti

I watch both of your video's before doing it. I thought I coment on this one as it was the one that HELP me the most.
I only have FC3 as it was a great buy @ 25 USD for my first order on there sight, and its what I could afford. Maybe one day I'll get a full fealidy Cockpit.
I'm only Just about 3 week's into DCS. I love the SU-27/33 been having a blast flying it.
Once agine thanks.
I can't get the AITrack set up because whenever I open it normally or run it as administrator, it always freezes up so I can't ever use it, any solutions for this?
what's your sensitivity setting/mapping for smooth movement
can someone help me i downloaded from github and extracted the files however its still abunch of files and idk how to turn it into opentrack and aitrack please help
@Honosuseri yes I have it up and running thanks alot
need help pls! it works fine but everytime I pull more than like 2g is warps itself into the pilots body and giggles around like crazy for no reason
Maybe check their forums, see if anyone else has a solution
is there a software that would use two webcams as stereo for more accuracy it looks like these only use one camera i have two i could use
Thank you very much working like a charm !!!
question after setting it up the camera get's twitchy when i am not moving my head is there anything i can do i tried playing around with curves and sensitivity but the issue still presists
Check out the part 2 video where I tweaked things further.
Which camera should we buy?
I have a Logitech C920. That's quite expensive but I do use it for video calls etc. Prices vary around the world so I can't really recommend just one particular webcam.
@@Honosuseri Thanks
You're welcome. As you see in the video I'm not even using the full 1080p resolution of my webcam, so you shouldn't need anything too fancy. All the best with it, have fun!
@@Honosuseri thank you so much
This is gold! Thank you very much!
it doesnt find my camera in the AI track what do i do its finds my cam in open track but not AI track
best explanation video comparing to others 👍 espacially MSFS videos
Thanks for letting me know the video helped you out!
@@Honosuseri thanks man. before you I watched near 10 video about settings but yours are the best.
Make sure you watch the part 2 video. I tweaked things a bit more in the settings to improve the tracking, the pitch axis became less janky!
Guys are you able to record your games with running webcam during using this headTracking ? Even when i use 2 different camera that one of them for tracking other is for webcam in game record video. But in any way when you run headtracking you can't use your other webcam properly and freezen headtracking or stop. Have you ever had this problem ?
Does it work on flight simulator and war thunder?
Thank you very much, i am using this for arma 3 and it is very nice!
@@Honosuseri All good. :) i had to ask. ill figgre will out.. somehow.
If you struggle and can't find it, message me back and I'll reinstall the game and check it out
@@Honosuseri Yea my neighbour did lend me his 3D Google for a while. but i somehow dont find my Buttons when i wear it 🤣, so i thought that head tracking could be an option.
@@Honosuseri and this works the same as aitrack?
Yes.
i have no idea why opentrack shows me as looking down when i turn right, but it works good when i turn left, pls help
im having issues with my cursor not wanting to work while i have open track open?
Can't say I've had that problem
its not working for me
the head tracking is working fine but the game isnt picking up any signal from the head tracker
My pinned comment says how to enable it in DCS if needed, I can't cover ever game/sim sadly.
can i use xbox one kinect camera (the big boxy one) with opentrack as well?
I don't know. I have one some where but haven't tested it.
confirmed working in star citizen in 2024... thanks a lot!!!!
I did everything you did but my head isnt even registering in DCS. is there something im missing?
Go to settings then Controls. Look for the TrackIR column (you might need to move over to the right), there's a small down arrow in the tab. Click it and make sure it's NOT disabled!
Is anybody else having the problem of low sensitivity, and when i look down it gets super close to the camera? ive been having this problem for a while
Works with Assetto Corsa just gotta Options - General - Enable 32 tick, Content Manager has it's own option as well
thank you!! this is sick for games like DCS and nuclear option
No matter what I freaking do my camera is always black in both programs. Cannot use anything whatsoever. Yet the camera works perfectly fine in OBS
@@Honosuseri that woupd be fantastic if you could. That would be easier to print somethinglol
It's "Aruco" github.com/opentrack/opentrack/blob/unstable/contrib/aruco/test3.png. Print the image and fix it to something on your head. Select Aruco as the input in Opentrack.
@@Honosuseri appreciate it ill have to google it. That link lead to a 404
Try again, the brackets broke the link
I tried VR and it was just super buggy and just didnt work. I needed so much tweaking and even then I needed more equipment and sooner or later I would be dedicating my time and money to that. I don't have time for that so head-tracking seems like the next best solution.
That's fair enough and why I did this video, so people can have head tracking with a monitor cheaply. I still prefer flying in VR however as they release new headsets, they keep increasing in resolution making them harder to run in PCVR. High end GPUs are needed which do cost silly money and limits the user base unfortunately.
Just give Headmob tracker app a try and you'll thank me later. It’s all free and you’ll be amazed at how accurate it is.
In my AItrack, the screen is just blue and i already allowed AI track to use my webcam
it works now :D
is it needed to have a good webcam like a c920 or can i take a 20 euros one from amazon ?
Thanks for sharing!
why doesnt it automaticallyt start tracking when I enter dcs?
Go to settings then Controls. Look for the TrackIR column (you might need to move over to the right), there's a small down arrow in the tab. Click it and make sure it's NOT disabled!
How do I get it to uninvert the pitch
Thank you so much this is so helpful
Perfect tutorial!
Thank you for letting me know it helped you out. Have fun!
Great help, thanks a million
How do you set it in game?
this was a great video thanks mate 👍
excellent!!! thank you very much, using it!!!
Thanks friend very good video.. my all system is working.
You're welcome! Glad to hear you got it working. Video is nearly 2 years old now, I may revisit this and do a new video "soon".
Awesome video....thanks
I don't think this would work on the modified ps3 cams, that are used with ir sensors, but now they have much better cams of course. If the camera is got the light filter installed in it already.
The PS3 Eye camera is NOT a webcam. People do use the Eye cam to make their own DIY Track IR solutions. This video isn't about that it's for anyone to use their generic webcam, no DIY skills needed.
how do i actually use the option to use this in DCS
Read the pinned comment
@@Honosuseri oh alr thank you, great vid btw
The exe file in aitracker isn't in the zip.
Does it work with lan? My pc does not have a wifi motherboard or something i only use lan connection.
You don't need WiFi. You can even use the neural net tracker option under input if you prefer. Rather than use AItrack and udp server
@@Honosuseri So just change input to neural net tracker an it should recognize the webcam? Output stays the same?
Correct output stays the same. Neural net tracker as input click on the icon next to it to configure. You might find you don't need to invert the pitch axis like I did for AItrack. You'll still want to tweak the mappings in Opentrack to tune the sensitivity.
Thank you so much!
I know I'm a *bit* late, but I've recently been trying to get this to work with war thunder, with little success. Pretty much all other guides aren't helpful and this one has gotten me the furthest. Is there a specific output I'm supposed to select or something?
I've never played War Thunder. I can't cover every game/sim and whether they support head tracking and how to enable it for them.
How do i hook it up to Dcs? You didnt show that in the Video
I added that info to the pinned comment for both Part 1 & 2 videos. I'm not able to cover every single game/sim and how they enable headtracking, I just happened to use DCS to demo and test for these videos.
@@Honosuseri Thanks mate! It did automatically hook it up in the end, thanks for answering tho
How well does this work with three screens😊
Just do a RUclips search for triple screens and TrackIR. It's the same thing basically just different technology.
Hi Honosuseri, these video was very helpful! I want you to tell me how can i see the applications when i'm in DCS
Does this work for ETS2 AND ATS ?
Thank you man, it help allot
in aitrack it shows black screen only
nice vid man just got dcs and new flite sticks jus wondering which open track file to pick set-up or portabl.7z thanks
Shouldn't matter which one you use. Setup is for installing, portable is if you want to just run it from a USB drive on different machines for example.
In DCS it doesen't work for me and i don't know what to do.
Go to settings then Controls. Look for the TrackIR column (you might need to move over to the right), there's a small down arrow in the tab. Click it and make sure it's NOT disabled!
Where is the link for the profile ?
There's is no link for my profile. It won't help you and people will complain it doesn't work. You have to tweak things for your own setup
@@Honosuseri Oh ok
You sound like captain Price at the beggining of COD missions :D
Getting frustrated. I used to be able to use mouse to look around with a left handed stick. Ever since I got the Gladiator NXT Evo, my right hand is now fully occupied. My tracking is so sensitive no matter the curves and it is nowhere near as smooth as yours or some other people's...
Edit: I have a good system too with nothing really running besides this... 3060ti
Nice video; any specific requirements for the webcam (example: resolution)?
Even though I have a 1080p webcam, you can see I'm only using it a 480p with AI track. I can't test every webcam but 1080p isn't necessary.
Any 720p camera will work right?
Yes should do
does this work on warthunder too?
Apparently yes, don't play the game myself. Other people in the comments are saying they use it with War Thunder.
@@Honosuseri thank you sir
