I'm using a different form of PowerPoint (from office 365) since I wasn't able to find to the tiniest things you had in your powerpoint. I wasn't able to find the free drawing thing and had no way of inserting an image into a shape. Is it similar somehow or what?

Hey it's very simple as i instruct in the video you have to draw the shape over the slide. you will get a yellow point on top corner of shape. Using that u can adjust your shape angle.
I´m so disappointed with myself. I don't know why this is happening but every time I draw the square and try to subtract the only thing that goes away is the new square I just draw and the rest is still there. I don´t know what I'm doing wrong.

+abdul harris when you will draw any default shape on slide, you will get adjustment points over the shape, you may adjust the high width, thickness or thinness of shape what exactly you need by using those points. Please check my other videos as well you will get more clarity about your concern
