I’ve been really impressed from what I’ve seen from TAG so far. It will be interesting to see if the countless people who cry about graders having a “bad day”, etc feel after they get a truly non bias opinion on their cards from TAG. I think TAG has a bright future and a place in the hobby. I have never said this about any new grading company but there should be no reason TAG doesn’t become an industry monster.
I hope TAG gets some steam for the exact reason you mention. I don’t know if they will though - I can’t even find cards for sale on eBay from them. I wonder how much volume they do a month. They are gonna be at a show I’m heading to in a few weeks and I’m gonna chat them up to get some info. I’ll report back
I really like the look of these TAG slabs. I’ve watched a couple of videos about them. The clarity is noticeable and it looks like the card is more stable and secure in the case.
Man, you make so many valid points and bring up so many questions as far as the sub-grade number. I guess if you're selling on eBay you could include the barcode as one of the photos and anybody could scan it and see exactly why the card got the grated did. Great video very informative... Thanks for taking the time to upload it...
I like the numbers beside the 1-10 since it allows more room for negotiations when selling. The leaderboards will be fun to chase after which won’t make all 10s the same.
Man so stoked you did this video. I have seen a few others but not the part with there supplys. I am also a sucker for good packaging and they crushed it no doubt having them packed in actual packs is incredibly cool. I really want to see vintage done. I will be doing an order for an experiment all vintage. I love the cases as well. Great stuff dude. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Glad you liked it man. They crushed it on the packaging. As soon as I saw the slabs in packs I was like ..”ugh….I’m screwed….they got me”. Hahah, Lmk how your order goes bud
I agree with your concerns about different level of 10’s. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I’m regards to the Brady, if you need to see an imperfection at 50X and it received a 10, then it’s a non issue.
Great reveal! So IMO a PSA 10 vs a TAG 925-955 may sell at a 9.5bgs level. Or higher than a psa9. However a pristine 975+ could and should sell higher than a PSA10 and in line with pristine BGS. Anything in between (955-974) should be in line with PSA10 as they are showing their work and reasoning. The market will eventually dictate this but it won’t be overnight. I want reproducibility and not submit or cross over to get a grade. Mostly for PC too. Also, I could see TAG as a big 3 in the next 5 years. PSA at the top and then SGC and TAG. If PSA had reinvested some of their massive profit to move the hobby forward I would be more sympathetic. But TAG is actually putting their money and patents to work to help the hobby and collector/sellers.
I checked yeah. For sure picked something up but I swear you can’t see it even under a loupe. So the question is - do you ding a card that a human would never be able to detect
Looked up the Brady out of curiosity. They caught the surface issues. As might be expected, it seems they identified them and reduced your grade on the surface. However, they weren’t deemed major, which aligns with the idea you needed 50X magnification to actually see the flaws. If anything, I’d be more confident in the “10” and overall grade on that card than any grade PSA maybe has ever given.
If they had scale and everyone used their reports - I think they could really make the relative grading scores really attractive. I think the problem is that people will see this slab next to PSA and SCG and not know what to do. But theoretically if they had the whole market - they have the right grading model. Pretty interesting on how they graded the Brady tho.
@@NicoSportscards I could see that. I do think technology has to take on a bigger role at some point. Even TAG from what I read has a person reviewing reports, so the human element isn’t 0, just much smaller. If TAG doesn’t take off, it might be my go to for PC since looking through everything so far has made me feel confident their grades are the highest quality on the market right now.
@@NicoSportscards Knowing how people can be, your worry about these next to a PSA or SCG is valid. But with TAG, they are very transparent on why you got the grade you got from what I've seen. This was such a great and very detailed video. As soon as they start grading pokemon TCG I’m totally sending some in. Love the packaging and how easy the process is. Thank you for this
But the PC missed stuff too... It seems to me that he's trying to tell us that some of these cards are flawed and yet they're getting 10s... Part of the whole thing is human error as well. We keep going away from humans and going to machines for everything. Now. I don't disagree that this is pretty cool it is but I won't be using. This company based on. This is awesome feedback thank you! As for the oura ring..I have a love hate relationship with it. I love the sleep data. It’s probably the first thing I look at when wake up. The scoring system really gets you hooked on trying to optimize your sleep . So in that respect - it’s great. That said - I have found that the sleep score it gives me will determine how I feel the rest of the day. High score - feel alert. Low score - feel tired. That may seem like the ring is working but I think it may be more reflexive than predictive. Meaning - if I see a low score - I convince myself I didn’t sleep well and therefor feel tired. And vice versa. I could talk about this for ages because I’ve run a lot of mini experiments with it and I think there is for sure a placebo effect. The only thing I wish they had was real time data on pulse and body temp; other than that - it’s great
I really like the laser etched label. Feels WAY cleaner than any of the other ones. I don't have a clue where it lands price wise, but I think it's lower just due to them being a new company. I think the computer algorithm is helpful, but I honestly wonder if including the full score is harmful in the long run, just due to how nitpicky graders could be on that. I think the ones that get above 960, 965 could be considered true gems closer to a BGS 10. I think if they do take off, the pricing will end up similar to how good subgrades on a BGS label will add value, and low subgrades will subtract value. A 10 that's a 931 will be worth less than a 10 that's a 958 as a random guess. I really do like this though, the packaging is some top notch stuff, and really makes it a whole experience that feels like they actually give a shit.
If their grading system is determined to be consistent and high quality, then there should be a difference in price between a 931 card with a general 10 score and a 958 card with a general 10 score. I like the idea of truly separating the generally good card from the elite card.
The real test is to crack one of these open and send them BACK in. With all the grading being computer generated all the grades should be almost the same or slightly lower if there was any kind of damage in transporting them or opening them, and centering should be exactly the same. NOTHING should be get a higher grade on resubmitting.
The slabs sold me but like lots of people tell me some inconsistencies, I used to be a jewelry designer and set pave diamonds I use 100x all the time I even use it before I send things to PSA SGC , so when I get something funky back I’m gonna grill them and get a explanation
You accepted the grade on one card because you knew it wouldn’t grade well, but you question the grading on the other because you didn’t get what you wanted. Anyway, those slabs do look nice for owners. For resellers, they probably would stay away
computer error is up to the developer and can be fixed and made better with time. Humans have emotion and bad days. to many people have gotten bad grades from psa cracked and sent them back and get higher grades. At some point you have to find out what is more consistent at getting it right.
I think this is the company I saw Loot Locker try out as well. I like the sealed results. Makes it fun and better probably for those of you that have channels. Also, agree with the breaker aspect. The guy I watch already does graded cards, but right now has to put them in bubble envelopes to reveal. I'm not a big fan of the rest however. Do NOT like the idea of the "vending machine" thing. Would be nice if they could just maybe sell some aspects to like PSA. The machine would cut down on human error, but don't like the grading system at all. PSA could use mechanical grading, seal the graded cards and then it'd be about perfect. Thanks for sharing! 🎅🤶⛄️🎄🎁🎄⛄️🤶🎅 Take Care/Stay Safe ✌ IF we don't "see" you again before rhen, hope you and your family have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Interesting I am not into the computer seeing something that can just be a part of the card and it’s using its ai to grade it, I’m with the eyes 👀 like you !! Great video really Nice slabs though crystal clear !!
That was a lot of fun to watch. With the fickleness of graders I love the objective approach, but I would love to understand whatever formula is used. I'm less concerned about the 3 digit grade. I think the vast majority of folks care only about "big" grade. The 3 digit grade is more for transparency. I've bought a PSA 10 card from eBay but when I got it saw white corners and bad edges. I'm sure it would be no better than a 7 if I'd crack it and regrade it. We all know a PSA grade is semi arbitrary but with TAG it potentially isn't. As OCD collectors psychologically we want a card to be a 10 regardless of how the sausage is made.
Totally agree, there is definitely potential here. They just need to get scale. If we can start seeing 10-20% of card show cases filled with TAG cards, then I think they go big very fast bc I agree that all else equal - 3 digit grades is better than 1 but only when you can compare it to other 3 digit grades. Great comment though - thank you
You should have check your card on their grading portal on ones that you disagree with and maybe it did find something wrong. Like I can look it up and noticed it was front surface score of 891 was the biggest downgrading... but on your camera, we can't notice because of YT compression... but there was 5 surface things the computer picked up. Now do they exist or not, I can't tell... but you can review it. I think I would prefer this transparency in the industry though on grades like TAG is doing. And we don't know the detailed grading that the others do to round up or down a grade. I feel this is a better system to know then a blank "why is it a 9 grade?" we all feel opening graded stuff.
Good advice . I went on and looked. The level of detail is amazing. There are some issues that I wouldn’t have picked up. I like the transparency but I do think any issue should be visible to the human eye. If they pick up stuff you can’t even see under a loupe then it may be going too far
Sorry, not a subscriber and watched this to see what you thought of TAG. Did you reach out them? Have you graded more with them? It'd be cool to see an update video. Thank you.
Have only done the one submission. I did reach out but they never got back to me. I have no idea how well they are doing but I never see their slabs anywhere
@@NicoSportscards I think these outlier graders are mostly for people who want a quick cheaper option for their PC. I imagine years from now when collections start to get broken up and resold we'll see a flood of these niche graded slabs.
I love the look at these slabs. I’m not sure if I’d be to confident sending cards to them because of the computer grading. I do see a common trend with most grading companies …. The more valuable, the car and the harsher the grade it seems ….at least that’s my opinion. I think I’d rather just buy some off eBay rather than send some to them. I really love the look of them.
I mean if you can't see a flaw unless you go under extreme magnification I think it's fine to leave out. So much of the grades are really about eye appeal I think. On the brady you said it was perfect outside those small small dots. You might've gotten like a 999 on it without the print dots
Personally I feel the resale value is going to be lowest of all grading companies along with lowest demand but that doesn't mean there not or can't become relevant and require a percentage of the market.
Man great video ! I really enjoy the way they have each slab in a pack thats so cool an their slabs are very nice ! Also i think i would rather have a computer doing the grading but a reasoning for the grade an score would be nice as well I think thats why BGS is so good cause of the sub grades ! And their slabs are sexy too lol if they teamed up with some one like tag that might be better than psa lol 😆 I just dont understand the hype around psa slabs theyre ugly and psa dont have the best customer service
I hear you. Until somehow the market breaks PSA’s resell value then I can’t see how others take share. I saw the other day that a Jeter PSA 10 rookie sold for like 40x a BGS 9.5. That’s just crazy
I don’t like graded cards anyway. It’s a subjective idea that varies person to person. A computer “might” be more accurate and consistent but what does it really look for. I’m curious as to what it sees compared to human eye. Ultra magnification seems a bit far to find flaws. I just sleeve them and display in pages. I get more enjoyment out of more cards that way, can only display so many slabbed cards depending on your available space.
What i like is there has always been speculation that even if say you had a 10 PSA it came back a 9 due to many believing pop count manipulation so big cards keep their value, with TAG there would be no manipulation you would assume since the computer does it all plus ive seen PSA 10's that should be 9's maybe even 8's ,
I like this company and how they are doing things but I think they should tweak there grading points system alittle. Maybe like anything over 975 get a 10. Then the like 9.4 to 974 get a 9.5 etc etc. I think you haft to have half grades like sgc and BGS. Just my opinion.
I use an app to pre screen my cards for grading. The two primary issues I have are 1. Glare on the edges can be interpreted as whiting 2. Not every surface issue can be detected depending upon the angle of the light. I scanned a Justin Jefferson Blue Press Proof Rated Rookie with some weird shiny clear blotch that was not detected and it came back 9.9.
@@NicoSportscards it’s called optic edge. I have tested it against all 3 grading companies. I scanned a PSA 9 and it came back 8.9. So overall it’s pretty accurate.
I would love psa to do away with 90 percent of their graders and have them trained to do vintage only because that's really where psa sucks is vintage with all the greenhorn graders
You lost me at the CEH, Panini encased cards are extremely tough to see through and pre-grade. They're also far from being perfect, even tho they are direct from Panini. What does the report say?
At the end of the day it’s a piece of cardboard that is chucked around at the factory, I don’t know how any sport card gets a gem ment 10 grade from any grading company
No i trust a computer way more than person.. and with all due respect your bashing the grading system ,, are you a professional grader? To say this card i looked at , and it's a 10 .
Trash don’t waste your money. Sent 5 cards cause I liked the look of the slabs. all 2021-22 pack fresh to Toploader and submitted. Came back. One four, two 5’s and two 6’s. Cracked em all sent them to Psa and got two 9’s and three 10’s. Tag just over grades the hell of cards. They won’t last long in the industry
Why does it sound like you are hunting for something negative to say? If you can't see the flaw in the Brady without being under a 50x why would you tell people not to bid on it? That is so Microsoft and if the computer software can't see it why would you say negative things about it? Then you said one should have been your highest grade and it was a 9??? Maybe the issue is you? I'm not casting shade bro but you are just looking for a reason to tear these guys apart? I think they look great and it's time for a change that's more affordable and convenient. Just saying PS. WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING WHAT DO YOU DO WITH A 931?? IF IT'S A 10 THEN IT'S A 10? YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. YOU TRYING TO HARD TO COMPARE APPLES TO ORANGES
Thanks for sharing! I am not a fan of this. They're making it way too complicated. In fact, it's going to be almost impossible to get a 100. And even though it's a computer, it's still missing things. I feel we got to stop leaning on computers so much. Part of this hobby is the human interaction.
Not a fan of this company, I like that you get your cards back individually wrapped but I don’t like the fact that it’s graded 100% by computers, I think there’s a human element you need in grading, I’d rather buy psa any day then a card by this company.
They over grade like crazy I don’t see them being around very long when they have a bunch of pissed customers. I had a card come back from tag as a 4 I cracked it sent to Psa came back a 9.
The only AI grading I trust is the shoebox box app for prescreen on iPhone actual graders from the top companies designed the system they were at the national cool dudes. I wouldn’t trust tag or another of these other random companies unless I knew they had experienced graders from one of the top companies setting the grading standards.
For my fellow-adult-beverage-drinkers out there, I make the comparison of grading card companies to beer manufacturers/producers; You're *NEVER* going to be able to ..... _LEGITIMATELY_ "compete" with the Anheiser Busch, Coors, etc., but there's some....."micro brew" card grading companies out there that have a comparatively....." _DECENT_ " product. However,...at the end of the day, if your end-goal is to "flip"/invest/maximize your investment(s), then *HANDS DOWN* ,.... *BAR NONE* ,...the *ONE AND ONLY* company to submit your cards to, is *Professional Sports Authenticators* !! Case, closed....end of subject,....no debate.
SGC IS STILL BETTER THAN THESE JOKE COMPANIES, JUST SAYING. SGC is $18/card if you send in bulk, you have cards graded back in hand in 15 days or less.

PSA could use mechanical grading, seal the graded cards and then it'd be about perfect.
Thanks for sharing!

IF we don't "see" you again before rhen, hope you and your family have a VERY MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Thanks my man. Have a great holiday !
Did you go to the website on that Brady card? It should give you a lot more info and show that spot on the card.
I did. It sort of had the dot called out but they didn’t ding it much.
Don’t overthink & sabotage yourself … you did well 👍
Great feedback ! Thank you !
You have a keen eye for grading
Thanks !
Interesting I am not into the computer seeing something that can just be a part of the card and it’s using its ai to grade it, I’m with the eyes 👀 like you !! Great video really
Nice slabs though crystal clear !!
Thanks !
Ya they overgrade they won’t be in business very long because of it. Pack fresh Prizm came back a 4. I cracked it sent it to Psa and came back a 9.
Over all I like the look. I might spend $200 and try it out. P,us the turn around is great.
They don’t do that tho. I have a pack fresh 2021 Prizm that came back a 4 I cracked it sent it to Psa and got a 9
@@Alfonso-rs2du wait who doesn't do what?
Tag doesn’t grade on the appeal. Most of the stuff can’t been seen by eye
I do love It’s the way is rating
Personally I feel the resale value is going to be lowest of all grading companies along with lowest demand but that doesn't mean there not or can't become relevant and require a percentage of the market.
I’ll probably sell a few and let you guys know how they comped
@@NicoSportscards cool I'm interested in the resale and demand , if nothing else option for PC .
Zach Wilson?!? Throw that in the trash!! lol Man he really messed up with the JETS.
they also don't do vintage yet
Would’ve been better to crack a bunch of PSA 10’s & see where they grade
Nice idea
Nico do they up charge you because of card value like psa ? Or is it a set price point for any card ?
Farve had right to left issues
C.E.H LOOKED LIKE IT HAD A SMUDGE LEFT SIDE.
By the way,AGS uses universal grading like all others. Not with weird numbers
Try AGS ,much better quality and I believe are the first in robogtading.
Just my opinion.
so I think anything 975 or higher gets a pristine 10 it looks like
I use an app to pre screen my cards for grading.
Which app you use ?
@@NicoSportscards it’s called optic edge. I have tested it against all 3 grading companies. I scanned a PSA 9 and it came back 8.9. So overall it’s pretty accurate.
I would love psa to do away with 90 percent of their graders and have them trained to do vintage only because that's really where psa sucks is vintage with all the greenhorn graders
They need a 9.5 cus that’s confusing
Tag messed up by raising their price to 30 bucks a card! I was gonna submit but not anymore. Lower the price to compete with other graders.
You lost me at the CEH, Panini encased cards are extremely tough to see through and pre-grade. They're also far from being perfect, even tho they are direct from Panini. What does the report say?
I haven’t had a chance to dig into the report but I’ll do a vid to follow up with everyone .
At the end of the day it’s a piece of cardboard that is chucked around at the factory, I don’t know how any sport card gets a gem ment 10 grade from any grading company
That's so weird I just saw another 948 that is a 9.
If you relied on fa human grader you never know who you get computer generated is the future
No i trust a computer way more than person.. and with all due respect your bashing the grading system ,, are you a professional grader? To say this card i looked at , and it's a 10 .
I'm buying a computer graded 10 over a human eyeball graded 10.
No I disagree. Computers don't care if it's a Monday. Lol boycott PSA!! They don't hold themselves accountable when giving a grade.
Just saying
PS. WHY DO YOU KEEP SAYING WHAT DO YOU DO WITH A 931?? IF IT'S A 10 THEN IT'S A 10? YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. YOU TRYING TO HARD TO COMPARE APPLES TO ORANGES
They may stay. But if they are off then they are off
I don’t like the clear through top of the case
I like it from the front but not the back. It ruined the reveal. But the core part of the case is really nice I gotta give them that
Thanks for sharing! I am not a fan of this. They're making it way too complicated. In fact, it's going to be almost impossible to get a 100. And even though it's a computer, it's still missing things. I feel we got to stop leaning on computers so much. Part of this hobby is the human interaction.
Totally unnecessary wow!
Nah
SGC........LEGIT!!!!✌
🤣 🤣 waste of $
SGC IS STILL BETTER THAN THESE JOKE COMPANIES, JUST SAYING. SGC is $18/card if you send in bulk, you have cards graded back in hand in 15 days or less.
