I really appreciate this. I’ve been wanting to learn TIG for awhile now ever since I learned MIG and stick welding but I didn’t know what rig to invest in. Keep up the good work👍

Buy a shitty one, as long as it doesn't break it's enough. I learned TIG welding with Fronius magic wave at 14, first time I actually used a shitty TIG was at 19. I was constantly f'ing annoyed at the quality of it, I was actually just spoiled by starting out with top of the line machines.

Make the contractor pay for tools. It's a tax write off for them. Most likely will get broken or stolen.

Even if you're missing your hand, you can still can learn to weld mig, fluxcore and stick. The stinger and weld gun is held by one hand and the other hand is used to support or steady the stinger or gun, but you could do the same with just your handless arm.

*You don't need no bullsht ass fancy tig torch for anything except if you're trying to look cool or if you're wanting to impress someone, but it doesn't impress me.I just use a profax torch and it gets the job done and that's all I need. Fancy tig torch and just a regular one is like comparing a Ferarri and a Ford Truck. Both will get you to wherever you have to go, but one of them gets alot of envious looks and costs alot more than the other.*
