- Hi nerdies! As promised here is the part 2 of my content about bl ships that unfortunately went there separate paths in many different reasons. Some of the reasons are officially disclosed to the fans while others are still unknown and still in question up until now.

I got into the bl world due to The Untamed. Still very sad to what happened to Zhan Xiao. Sometimes fans' obsessions are very scary.
@phenao_Bto7 i also thought of the same. Because I was a kpop fan before entering the bl world, it's normal to read fanfics of my favorite OTP or ships. And I have read like the extreme ones in AO3 as well but nothing happened to them. But I guess his fans were triggered because of the fanart? Like xiao zhan being dressed in a women's clothing with wigs? Maybe that's too much for them to handle😅
I feel so sad when i think of yizhan. The way their ship was put to an end is just heartbreaking. I truly hope they are still great friends off cam.

In my opinion actors should not do fanservice and not try to make their fans believe that they are more than friends at the first place. If you have acting ability, good script then automatically fans will love the series. No need to fool anyone.
Because after they are done with their series they start to say to their fans not to be delusional.
If their is no fanservice then their would be no problem as well.
I agree with you on no fan service. I am a big fan of BL series from the US. Once a series is over I’m ready to move on to another series. I’m thankful for the great performances these actors give me. I don’t care if they are a couple off screen or even if they are a couple in another series. We as fans should respect their privacy. What they do on their time off should not concern the fans. I hope you don’t mind that I totally agree with you. ❤

@SanchariDhabal also i think they should not let two actors to always play together in every series even if they're chemistry is top notch and label them as a "Pair". cuz I think that also adds to the fans delusions. In korean dramas they don't have this so called love teams but here in the Philippines it's normal and I think in the thai bl industry, that is what they are trying to do.
@@BoysLoveNerd Totally true, so people can see them as good actor only, but they do it on purpose most BL fans are girls if not all of them and we get attatched to that cute image especially off screen thinking this is not only acting so easily, they perfectly know what they r doing, selling what fans want to consume.
there are some ships that don't do fanservice at all and for me those are the genuine ones. By that, I mean the ones that have a great friendship and bond that they don't need to flaunt it. The chemistry talks for itself. Sadly, because they don't use fanservice they are not as popular as the ones that do. I think more pairings should use that model instead of using fs so much that some fans believe that they are real.
I just don't get how people confuse characters in dramas, and the actors in them. They are real human beings, not characters being written by the audiences will. Always seemed wrong of me to ship people. There are actors I love seeing together because they work really well on screen, but I don't expect them to be everything and more in real life. People need to remember that fantasy is only fun if you keep it in your mind, project it onto real people and everyone gets hurt in the end.
A lot of people don't seem to understand what acting means. It's a job, and the job is to sell a dream or a fantasy to an audience. Very few actors play themselves on stage or screen. As an actor, you don't need to have a medical degree to play a doctor, and you don't need to be a psychopath in order to play a villain. You don't need to have kids of your own to play a parent. And you don't need to be gay to play in a BL. It all comes down to how good you are at putting yourself in someone else's shoes, and emoting on screen well enough to be convincing. I don't get why (some) BL fans can understand all the other cases, but not the one that pertains to BL.
I wish I could put this up on a billboard in my country. Not related to bl, but in my country old people have a really hard time understanding acting. They'll go to extend of harassing an actor if they see them in public, just bc they play a villain on screen- it's so insane!

Because the production companies and the actors constantly pretend they are a "real thing" in real life with the fan service. It's ridiculous. Young fans may not have the ability to be a critical thinker like you are writing about here. They are easily susceptible to constant fan service telling them their KPop idols and BL actors are actually in love with each other. If the fan service stopped, so would most of the delusion. I'm not going to just blame fans about this.
@@connie7128 But isn't this why we need to tell them how it really works? Just because they were deluded, should we not point it out? Should we let them stay deluded because they were too easily manipulated and couldn't figure it out on their own?
Besides, I've seen plenty of fans believing this about actors who never did fanservice and whose agencies or companies didn't require them to.
I got into BL rea~lly late. So it's a shame a missed the Untamed era. The YiZhan pairing is still hot, but I would have loved to experience the "craziness" at that time....
Ship is a lie . As BL fan i only love the story and plot of a series and i am really not into companies fan services . I found this creapy. I don't like show up
Like, yeah, it would be great if they were real off screen as well, but I'm not a child anymore and know the difference between the fairy tail and real life

To all non-Thai (aka:foreigners) who keep calling BL actor's CLOSENESS a lie.
First of, how can it be a lie when almost all couples stated clearly that they are either brothers or best friends from the beginning. It's only delusional fans blaming them for keeping to their words.
Also, FYI, for example to those who do not know the Thai's norm, Mile and Apo's behavior is normal for bestie in Thailand and by Thai culture and standard. I have been teaching English in Thai bilingual school for over 10 years (Y10-12) and I have seen some boys calling one of their classmates "mum" or "dad". (doesn't matter what gender) they're given the nickname cause they're either super neat like their mum or super strict like their dad. A girl can be call dad and a boy can be call mum, it's their behavior that dictates their nickname-title.
In class, some boys/girls would sit with their shoulders stick to one another, some even rest their head on the others laps like boy-boyfriends/girl-girlfriends during breaks. I saw 4 girls sharing 1 ice-cream in the cafeteria, 3 boys sharing 1 bubble tea with only 1 straw. Boys play truth or dare with kissing each other as dare, they laugh about it. BUT they are not boyfriend/girlfriend!
I asked many students cause I was curious. They all said similar thing, that it's normal to show this level of affection with their best friends cause they are "our safe zone" person. Apparently it mean, more than best friends, more than brothers/sisters, but not a *fan*(lover/boyfriend /girlfriend) .
So I hope foreigners would stop saying things like these actors are showing their closeness because they were made to do them or for the camera/show. I know that in some country like Taiwan actors are made to even made out on stage as fan service, this doesn't apply to Thai BL actors cause they were never forced to go to that extend.
FYI, if you are close with someone in Thailand, it's normal for all genders to show affection like Mile and Apo. It's only in countries where acceptance of LGBTQ+ is low will you find it strange for 2 men or women to show their affections physically. In Thailand, what you call a lie is a norm. Plus some couples like Both&New year or Porch&Arm(married) are together in real life,so how can it be a 'lie'
Eg. EarthxMix were super close even before Mix enter the industry, he knew Earth since he was around Y11! Earth often take Mix to dinner or lunch cause Mix was a minor back then, Earth paid for meals. 😄
Or TayGun, a ghostship couple. Gun is super close with Tay and his family, enough that Gun was invited to Tay's family outing by Tay's parents themselves. New is Tay's official ship but didn't even get invited. When the clip of TayGun smooch on the lips was live, people condemned both of them. So stupid. Gun is close enough with Tay to casually video chat with Tay's grandmother! And Tay also said in the live-clip that "we're playing like *GMM*" (referring to the lip smooching trend the boys in gmm are playing). And even if they were really going out, so what? It's their private life.
So, I hope that all foreigners who have no understanding of Thai's norm, would stop calling them liars and so on, their behavior isn't a lie cause in Thailand it's normal to show affectionate behaviors to people you are close and care for. It's also normal to emotionally adopt their work colleagues as their family.
For example: In my English Department we call one of our fellow teacher *Mae*, meaning mom. And she is the third youngest out of us 7 teachers. We call her mum cause she is responsible and caring like a mother to all teachers and to show her that we care for her like family. This is Thai culture. If you are trusted and loved, you are considered as a family member.

I never said that actors are liar... offcourse TayNew are friends and never tried to show up as lovers. Always likes bickering each other. And I love First Khao also who says that their partnership is a blessing for them . And many other actors. Maybe it's the company they made them show up as couple in name of fan service and many fans who are crazily made them lovers and can't think anything else over it . whatever. The industry has to take some responsibility they overindulge the fans with these ships byencouraging the actors to participate in intense fan service. Unfortunately money takes precedence over the actors mental well being. The BL industry needs to be held accountable because they play a huge part in this to the detriment of not only the mental health of the actors but also a lot of fans who can’t separate fiction and reality. Right now bl is riding the gravy train but they are in danger of derailment.

What Mew did was absolutely correct! The fans kept trying to prove that mew and gulf were dating in real life. He spoke the truth because now it was affecting his other works/ pairings. He made the brave choice and clarified to his fans instead of just letting them assume stuff. I love him for his bravery ❤ ❤
Mew is one of the worst for fan service and manipulation of his fans. Never think for one moment that he wasn't trying to make fans believe he and Gulf were a thing in real life. I watched his behavior on social media, fan meets, appearances on various shows. He clung to Gulf like a koala bear & it wasn't "brothers" or "costars" behavior. He was selling a relationship so his fans would buy more merchandise, his music, tickets. He is a master at manipulating fans to make lots of money. Him chastising those same fans should have ruined him. He's not brave, just a con artist.

Then he would have never openly cleared the rumors instead he would have continued with giving vague answers because that would have benefitted him more and saved him from all the hate he was getting. And nowadays it is extremely common for most of the bl actors to indulge in extreme fanservice. Also he had to come up with somewhat harsh words because of those few toxic 'fans' who kept slandering and throwing threats at all the people who were close with him. Ofc he wouldn't just keep quiet looking at his loved ones getting all the unnecessary hate just to keep up with the 'expectations' of his 'fans'. Also both Mew and Gulf were involved in fanservice . So it is completely unfair to blame one person.

I love BL I found it during the pandemic and the first one I watched was Hello Stranger at that time I had no idea how many their were out their! And since then I’ve watched several more I’m not into the fan service or anything these actors are playing fictional characters and more often times then not no where near their on screen counterpart they are in the public eye daily so it’s hard to get a sense of who they truly are. but I also don’t think it’s fair to me to infringe on their lives with these delusions that their on screen partner and them must be together in real life very informative video thank you! ❤

I stand by everything Mew said in retaliation to his overzealous and outright delusional fandom, and in all honesty I would personally much prefer a more natural fanservice in which the actors are allowed to express their genuine friendships which one another rather than a forced continuation of their characters' relationship, I honestly think it would not only benefit the actors but their fandom as well to be given a much needed reality check! Not all BL fans are this way but as with everything the bad that make up the minority are often the loudest
I hope for a future when fan service stops. It is a toxic cycle that never ends.

I'm a BL fan and have my couples that I love dearly but I don't delude myself into thinking that they are a real life couple. The problem is fanservice yes, but it's also those certain few that believe that the actors are in love no matter what even if they are told by the actors that they are not.These men are ACTORS and are doing a job that's it.
Mew has been misunderstanding a lot. For example, Mew focuses on music /Gulf focuses on acting. their road different cause separate. But Mew has filmed more than Gulf so far. Gulf only films 2lakorn and 1movie. Mew has filmed 4larkon(3main role+1Guest), 1movie, and 5serials.
And Gulf say he focus on acting is lie. He prepared WYSS on 202011, which was revealed in 202111 interview. At that time, MGCP fans hope MewGulf would collab song.
Guys! I finally finished The Untamed. I loved it. Wish China was more open about BL. Complaining about AO3 sure backfired tho. Way to go.
Bed Friend was too depressing for me to finish. Such a damaged family Uea had. I was looking forward to their next series.
Miss MewGulf. But oh well. I did notice how uncomfortable Gulf was with skinship. But they did some great acting. I was very angry for Gulf when 'fans' forced him to apologize for having a normal relationship that did not include Mew.
Mew is a very high achiever IMO. Acting is just part of him, we are sad, but it’s his choice. Gulf wanted to sing, but he needs more lessons, I think he was a better actor than Mew in their series. In Mew’s personal life he also chose a high achiever in his partner. They are both academics

I'm American. The fan service I see in Thai BL and KPop is ridiculous. They are clearly portraying themselves as more than brothers in the stuff I see. It's intentional deception aimed at mostly young fans who are easily manipulated. This sells more merchandise & tickets. It's all about the money. Brothers? You must be joking. I've watched Mew/Gulf fan service - I'm surprised they didn't try to have sex on stage. Lots of them are like that. They cause this, then the manipulated fans are all blamed for it. I'm too old to be fooled, but I'm not the target audience either. THINK.
@@connie7128 Didn't you read properly? It's common in Thai culture for same gender to show that level of affection to their bestie or someone they are really close to. They have this "I'll-adopt you-as-my-family" NORM/CULTURE/MINDSET.
Your people, Americans and other western countries, may boasts of how you guys accepted and have a modern mix-culture diversity society and may seems open-minded, but you can clearly tell it's way far behind Thailand's level of acceptance, if you think that BL actors in Thailand are out to deceive people just for fan service all the time. They do it cause it's their job, but they are not K-pop idols where companies own their body and life. Although there might be some companies who force their actors together, but if that happened those actors will always come out and expose everything. Entertainment industry here actually treat their stars like a human being. Even Gulf and Mew were given a choice to show affectionate behavior, not forced. Mew was a little more familiar with the industry but he also wasn't sure how much to fan service with Gulf. He hasn't been the, only, focus main lead in the other BL series till Gulf.
I've live here for a decade and what you call "more than a brother behavior" is COMMON behavior here. My fellow teacher, a younger female, my best friend, hug and kisses me on the cheek whenever I paid her lunch and I do the same when she treated me to one. If you say that they are out to deceive people than my 100++students who had graduated over the 15 years that I've been here are all BL/GL actors, not normal citizens.
Also, I can really see the ignorant shine from you as you call other country's culture a lie. And which part of MewGulf fan service is borderline sex? They only kiss on the cheeks or bear hugging each other. The most they did is just a quick smooching. If you're talking about borderline sex, where actors are made to makeout on stage, then you are talking about the Taiwanese's BL actors not Thailand's. I hope you know that there are two separate countries and are not related.
This apply to all Thai BL actors. They may makeout in the series but when they go to the events or interviews, never in all of Thailand's BL history did they ever makeout on stage.

Americans may boast of how your country have mixed culture and social diversity acceptance but if you compare it to Thailand, Americans' 'acceptance' is way far behind and below Thailand.
If you think that actors, by taking care of each other and show affection for each other, is a form of deception, then it just mean that deep down you find same gender relationship disturbing. Besides, if the actions are 'deception' then that mean that my 100++ students that I had taught over a decade here, who most had graduated, are all nothing but BL/GL actors and actresses who are acting 24/7. Cause, what you call "fan service that aim to manipulated young fans", the actors' action and behaviors are identical to the actions that all my students do to their best friends, of the same gender, in Thailand.
@@connie7128 Also, can you please describe what Mew and Gulf did that is borderline sex on stage? The most that they ever did was hugging, occasionally Mew would be asked to carry/lift Gulf up to show that he is strong. They never even kiss off-screen or even at fan meetings (on cheeks doesn't count. Me and my best friend also kiss on the cheek).
And if you're talking about over the top fan service action then I think you're talking about the Taiwanese actors, not the ones from Thailand. BL actors from Thailand, unlike the Taiwanese actors who were literally making out on stage for fan service, have never kiss each other like that. And it never happen in all of Thailand's BL history.
Also FYI, unlike the K-pop industry where the company owns the idols' body and life, it is as different as day and night in Thailand. How different? Think of this. GMMTV CEO was acting as bodyguard for one of the actors at the airport cuz he was worried about the young actor and sometime seen eating at the roadside cheap noodle shop with producer and other actors by some Motocycle taxi drivers. CEO of Studio Wabi Sabi often allowed actors to visit his home for barbecue night or sleepovers. Do you see K-pop idol's company CEO do the same with their idol? Lisa from BlackPink was treated so unfairly that I, who isn't a Kpop fan, know about the bias treatments.
In Thailand, if a company tried to force actors to kiss on stage they would get publicly sue. You may not know this but it is considered indecent to kiss in public in Thailand.
And let me add this. It is definitely and without any doubt, 100% fans' fault for their own 'disappointment' or the so call 'hurt'. The actors in Thailand never make any verbal suggestions that they are together or in a romantic relationship. It is the opposite, they always stated clearly that they are "friends" or "Pi-Nong(siblings)" or "each other safe zone" in every interview, fan meet and all other events (when asked), both locally and Internationally.
It's those crazy toxic fans who need medication. the actors already and ALWAYS make it clear what relationship there held with their partner, the delusional fans need to examine their own IQ not blams others,even my Y9 students all know that shipping is shipping, not real.
Btw, I do hope you know that Taiwan and Thailand are two different countries. Cause what you accused of over the top fan service never come from Thai's BL actors. But you see lots from Taiwanese ones.

Most mainland China BL adaptations were just bromance with very little to none PDA involved.
Even if there were adapted into romance, the series would likely be censored or cut short.
It was such a shame to the OG IP.
IMO, Ohm was tired of the constant demand on their pairing. The high intensity wore him down. Also mentioned is their very different personality! Ohm has a very playful and friendly. In the series Safe House, Nanon was always sulking, and physical. He seems to be always hitting Ohm. Seems to want Ohm’s attention all the time. That is very exhausting and puts pressure on friendships. True they were friends, but maybe not always joined at the hip. No hate pls. Just trying to figure out what went wrong. There’s a saying: Familiarity Breeds Contempt

I also love watch Japanese bl series and japnese bl series are really good and natural and main problem is fanservice in jbl there is no fan service so they don't have any problem
In Japan, S.Korea, and Taiwan there are bl couples who come out to state their relationship status. And guess what, we still go and watch their movie or series. The problem with Thai fan servicing for me, is they blatantly lie sometimes and some will even go to the extent of fan servicing for years. Once they get tired or want to move on, they pull the rug under their fan's feet. Yes ppl know it's fantasy and make belief and there are a few of those who believe it's true. However the Thai industry not only queer bait their audience but they also gaslight them. Why are you being ambiguous and play hide and seek with simple things like "Are you in a relationship". Some of us support bl actors who are married or in relationships and their show does just fine. They don't carry the fan service for years down the line. And when it's done and dusted come and tell people, whom you basked in their adoration and support for many years, that they are crazy. Meanwhile you fan service bombed them as you will. Yes fans need to know their place. What about an industry that thrives off of those delulu supporters? Every time an iconic couple will comes up and those same people will support and once it's good enough. Be labeled crazies.
I don't take Thai bls serious anymore as a Viewer. It's very clumsy and unprofessional in the way they gaslight fans.
I agree with you. This is why I don't watch Thai BL much anymore. There are plenty of other countries making great content in straight and BL programs, and I'm happy watching both. I don't like the fan manipulation in Thailand. It's gross.

At first when i saw bl series and see their fan service i thought they were real... bcz i wasn't recognised with fan service... but when i knew about fan service than i just enjoy their series bcz i know they're just co actors
I am into mewgulf Fandom and Mew and Gulf really deserve Oscar for their Fanservice it really make me reliaze that don't trust this actors and ships just follow the series and then that's the end when the series end I personally believe that they should learn somethings from jbl because they don't do fake promotion of their ship and bl still their series got hit and loved by many also chemistry between actors are absolutely amazing and beautiful

They are easily susceptible to constant fan service telling them their KPop idols and BL actors are actually in love with each other. If the fan service stopped, so would most of the delusion. I'm not going to just blame fans about this. The Mew/Gulf fan service was so over the top that even I started to wonder about them, and I know for a fact Gulf is a straight guy!

The fanservice are not necessarily needed to be intimate. But then some actors does extreme fanservices and then when the fans gets hooked in their PR stunt they get angry, i mean who is the real crazy?
BL industry was originally came from Japan, the actors always professional and never deliberately bait fans with fantasy outside of the setting location, even in interviews and photoshoots, never flirting always respectful. Thai bl is another universe, most fans know the actors are usually in relationships with opposite sex, but they went crazy when the actors acting chummy with their fellow actors, insanity 😅

Also, FYI, Mile and Apo's behavior is normal for bestie in Thailand and by Thai culture and standard. I teach English English in Thai bilingual school (Y10-12) and some boys would call one of their classmates "mum" or "dad". (doesn't matter what gender) they're given the nickname cause they're either super neat like their mum or super strict like their dad. A girl can be call dad and a boy can be call mum, it's their behavior that dictates their nickname-title.
In class, zome boys would sit with their shoulders stick to one another, some even rest their head on the others laps like boyfriends during breaks. I saw 4 girls sharing 1 ice-cream in the cafeteria, 3 boys sharing 1 bubble tea with only 1 straw. BUT they are not boyfriend/girlfriend!
I asked many students cause I was curious. They all said similar thing, that it's normal to show this level of affection with their best friends cause they are "our safe zone" person. It mean, more than best friends, more than brothers/sisters, but not a *fan*(lover/boyfriend /girlfriend) .
So I hope foreigners would stop saying things like these actors are showing their closeness because they were made to do them or for the camera/show. If you are close with someone in Thailand, it's normal for all genders to show affection like Mile and Apo.
Eg. EarthxMix were super close even before Mix enter the industry, he knew Earth since he was around Y11! Earth often take Mix to dinner or lunch cause Mix was a minor, Earth paid for meals. 😄
Or TayGun, a ghostship couple. Gun is super close with Tay's family, enough that Gun was invited to Tay's family outing by Tay's parents. New is Tay's official ship but didn't even get invited. When the clip of TayGun smooch on the lips was live, people condemned both of them. So stupid. Gun is close enough with Tay to casually video chat with Tay's grandmother! And Tay also said in the live-clip that "we're playing like *GMM*" (referring to the lip smooching trend the boys in gmm are playing)
So, I hope, not just you, but all foreigners who have no understanding of Thai's norm, would stop calling them liars and so on, their behavior isn't a lie cause in Thailand it's normal to show affectionate behaviors to people you are close and care for.

I watched the Untamed, but after Episode 20 I slowlt lost interest, as there was no BL interaction.
It was not a bl drama though..bromance. China rarely produce bl drama. If you want to watch bl drama/series ..watch Thailand bl series
