  • This video highlights a newly developed issue with a new electric scooter. 56 miles, a few months old and appears to have a failing battery. Help from OKAI's tech support is pretty much non existance.

I have a Neon Pro as well and it did the same thing. It never cut off on me but wouldn't charge to 100. It would charge to 74%. Then after I used it again it would only charge to 53%. I contacted Okai and after several back and forth emails and videos showing the problem they finally sent me a return authorization form to send it back for repair. They couldn't repair it so they are sending me a "certified factory reconditioned" replacement scooter. I also have an Okai Neon, the ES20 model for my wife. The light stays on on that scooter. You can't turn the light off whether with the button or the app. Even when I power the scooter off the light stay on until the battery dies. I have to send that one back as well. I saw a video where Okai was one of the original manufacturers for Bird rental scooters. I thought if they could survive the abuse those scooters were put thru thay had to be good. Boys was I wrong.

@@lemzlemz16212 different model scooters by the same brand and both defective is a bad batch? I don't think so.

I've the same damn scooter, bought in Sept. of '23 and since then I've put about 900 miles on it. Taken well care of, and I've had a similar experience.
Riding it through town, stopped at a red light, light turns green, I hit the throttle and nothing. Look down, screen is off. Push it across the intersection to the sidewalk. Path back to the car is downhill, so I hope on and coast it down and bam, the screen lights back up but shows ab error, 2 or 3, and then number 13. Basically low voltage and no comm with BMS. My battery was nowhere near flat, maybe 40% or so. Put it on charge at home and she lights up like normal, shows 40% on screen and charges like normal from there. Works fine later on.... Now I've charged it up again, gets to at least 84%, but it seemed like it sat at that for a while, maybe not. Look again later, screen is off. Take it off charge, won't turn on. No display. When plugged in, won't connect to app like it normally would. Guess I'll fight with em and see if I can get them to pay for a shipping label. 😡

Nope. That ones weird. The fact that it turns on when it wants suggests that the switch has gotten wet, or theres a short somewhere. I anticipate that the speed controller and the charge circuitry would be seperated but I dont know since ive never taken it apart. If its all combined on one packaged board. Then , well, that would be dumb really. But , the cheapest way to manufacture. If thats the case. Which now that i think about it. Probably is. Then the esc has probably overheated everything and now you just are left with a wigged out freak machine that wont charge and comes on when it wants to. Sooo. Who knows really

Hello, I bought an Okai Neon Pro yesterday, the thing is that the announcement speed said 25km/h but when I tried it it was only 20km/h max, do you know by any chance a trick or hack to boost up the speed? I will really appreciate that! Greetings

Mine has officially died. The batterry is dead and wont charge so I cant go to my scooter and verify what im wanting to say. As i recall there was an inital phase where you had to ride it 10 miles before it would fully unlock. I might be thinking of something else though. Also I think you need to download the app and connect to the scooter. I would internet search and see what you can come up with. My scooter is less than a year old and just under 100 miles and it is dead and useless. I am very dissatisfied with okai

There customer service is garbage. So are the scooters. I had two OKAi products and both had major issues before I could reach 30 miles!
