Well done! That's the nicest space elevator I've ever seen. I recommend using lightweight blocks like catwalks to fill in some of the holes in the elevator itself, though. You can also fit it with solar panels to keep its batteries charged.
saw one that looked quite good, but it was super old, like made 12 years ago old... this one seems close to it, but doesn't have the trading station at the bottom and top with docks. Like this one more though, as it shows the simple inner workings. Actually think I could build my own now, so long as I could figure out the builder lol.

Kana, I have a feeling the reason the explosion happened was because you had two connectors attached and Klang didn't like it. All you had to do was rebuild the welders and disconnect the second connector and pick it up.

The first time you jumped off the top of the platform I actually *screamed* "OHMYGOD!" and felt like I was about to fall 20 kn in a space suit. Anyway this is fuckin' RIVETING! It's like you've built your own whole Matrix simulation in that game, it's freaking me out.
What about slinging some cargo below the elevator, in case it's too large for the platforms? Off-center forces acting on the elevator cart might be a problem, because they act on the clangy wheels.

Still remember the first time I saw the shadows be cast and realized how realistic they are. Was watching a streamer in their moon base and the sun passed over an asteroid, which cast a darkness over the entire base. Was amazing. Sad I only just found the video lol, but guess its backlog to catchup on now :D

This is a build of incredible scale. It’s awesome!!!! Really wish you hadn’t cut the BASE jump footage though, would have loved to watch the drop trough atmosphere.
Love the design, it works great, the thing about space Elevators is that the tower dosent actually hold it up, there should be a large satellite that orbits in place and holds it up. All it needs is some kind of docking station, and maybe sensors to make it stop automatically
The orbiting satellite should not be necessary in theory. The resulting centrifugal force of the "tower" (more like a cable) rotating with the planets rotation should be enough to keep it relatively stable. Something that big would be extremely heavy on its own afterall
Glad to see you back. And very much look forward to more. But be sure not to push yourself. Take all the time you need. That said. In the future, once the station and taxi service are done, I'd love to see a tour of the whole network as though from the eyes of a new arrival, it's been so long I can barely remember some of the parts of the base, and I'm curious to see how some parts look with more recent additions What's the view from the airtraffic tower like now etc. :D

Idea, maybe you could have the lounge on the second floor on Midway station, and a little see through section of the floor, made out of glass, where you can watch the elevator car leave the station or arrive. Also, maybe you could make it similar to the elevator car, but with inter ship airlocks for larger ships, that move materials and people between planets, and landing pad hangars for smaller craft, similar to taxis, that move between large asteroids.

If you're taking design ideas... you can make it at least a three-level station. First level passenger exit with a airport food court feel. Second level would be cargo/mechanical room, maybe with freight elevators from ship dock. The top and last floor... the ship yard with a control space Tower. I also have an idea for a restaurant to go in the food court. Because it's food... in space lol!

i feel like the elevator would actually be easilly repairable if you make a station with thruster supports at the top. all you'd need to do to repair it is repair the parts which got exploded then merge block
Great construction that must have taken ages of patience to make. Just curious, have you though about making a double doored pressurized area for o2 or maybe having a tank set up to some cryo tubes to keep players from suffocating for the ride?
Imagine an Unreal Tournament map set on something like that but a much bigger platform. Fragging fools on the way to space then destroy the cable as a ragequit.
I'm not very creative but heard you say you get rock back and forth now when descending with the updated blocks, have you considered now that the blocks dont collide when traveling beside one another to use steel blocks next to your vertical columns as guides ?

So, I was doing a tether in my game but ran into a hard stop of 20Kmish where i couldn't build further. I assume that's why you are making midway? Ours was supposed to be the first stepping stone to space in our "rp" server (only renewables for power, no aircraft unless it was a rocket) but since we couldn't build past 20km we kind of put the project on hold while i came up with info on the issue. Any insight would be welcome.
P.S. you are going to have a bad time when the tether breaks... We only found the hard limit after doing a post mortem via save scrub. (Our rp is we don't reload server saves unless it's game breaking failure... We used the save scrub because it also took 30h to build.)
I might be wrong, but I thought Armor was optimized for the surface issue (unlike the bunker door stuff), wouldn't that save you the issue of having 3 grids ? Also for your taxi, why not just have 2 ships with dedicated pads on each side, and use sensor to detect if a ship is present on the other pad (IE, if a ship lands on pad A, execute go to other base of pad B) ?
I would rotate the elevator car’s interior seats around to face the windows so the passengers can enjoy the view of the outside as it go’s up and back down
you could do much more to that now u have it in place for example you could use the elev then spilt in to 4 and automated :) and also add cargo /ramps on to it :)
I thinking Midway won't be too big as it will by the lounge to wait for the elevator and taxi/cargo to Central Station where you can board taxis to different stations or park big Cargoship to load/unload cargo for different stations or to planet surface through Midway

Tidmouth Milk if we place a long enough line of disposable blocks underneath it, you could feasibly do a crash-landing without sustaining damage

Can you keep the wheels in neutral and use thrusters?
