You guys did an amazing job as always ❤ I gotta say though, I prefer when you fix houses in bad shape. With the housing market being as bad as it is, its hard enough for people to buy houses just to live in. Taking an already nice house and raising the price/value of it for a profit so someone wealthier can have a pretty house... I get this is a business but its more fun when you turn an ugly/broken house into something livable.
I agree. I appreciate seeing "zombie" houses brought back to life, and into the housing inventory. While I like this channel, I thought it was more interesting when "zombie" houses were rehabbed. If I were house shopping anywhere, I'd look for a house in this condition so I could make my own changes over time. You're correct, renovating houses like this influence market prices, nationwide and it prices too many people out of the market.
this is the exact kind of renovation job im looking to do, as a first time home buyer im looking to buy something very similar to these types of homes and i know im going to be doing major renovations on it so these videos give me some good ideas of what ide like to do in my own home in the near future
I love it! Two things tho…adding an electrical outlet above those built ins and about the fireplace is an inexpensive and practical thing to just go ahead and do. Especially when you were saying that the upstairs landing could be a tv room. Also…the yard could be way more appealing if it were sodded or at least weedeated.
Its a beautiful home, but the chocolate color fire place seems not cohesive. That color isnt anywhere else in the home. A warm taupe or black would have been better to me.
Job well done. Overall great colors and fixtures. Love that the cabinets in the kitchen go all the way to the ceiling. Make the kitchen look grand. But the island should have had an overhang where the stools were. The fireplace was a huge mistake on the color. And I agree with one of the other commenters, you missed an opportunity to open that living room window up onto that patio which would have brought the outdoors in and vice versa. How many other houses in the neighborhood have that feature? It could mean the difference to just a full offer and possibly a bidding war. I noticed you didn't do anything to the laundry room. At that price I would be expecting at least some cabinets overhead to keep that space neat looking. It was rather small too. Looking forward to your next 2 neighborhood projects. Cheers!
I think that was really more of a mistake by the staging company rather than an issue with the island. There's not really enough space for countertop seating in that area if you are going to commit to a breakfast nook.
I love when houses have rooms, but the room has an arch way dividing each room which still gives an open concept, but each room is separate instead of just being one giant room with everything in it.
Love what you guys do! I don't normally critique but I felt that you guys missed the mark on so many areas on this one that I couldn't resist. If I were president, what I would have done differently is.... painted out the air vent in the dining room to the same color as the ceiling. The arches weren't necessary and I felt actually dated the place. The kitchen style cabinets in that bonus area look too utilitarian, like something you'd see in a laundry room. Floor to ceiling book shelves with doors on the bottom for storage would have been a better choice. I could go on but didn't want to rip it totally apart. Totally loved the painted stair rail, what a difference that made.
I praise you every time you paint a ceiling a dark color! I love it!! It's a way to set a different tone, a bit outside the norm, yet with class and subtlety. Ok, onto the rest of the video lol. Which I'm sure I'll be stunned with at the end results. 😊
Love the color palette, light fixtures, hardware/etc. However, I'm not a fan of the shiny modern cabinets - I feel like they will easily smudge, and just bounce the light around.
You were probably smelling vinegar. From what I can see, the house looked like a cleaning company had been there. They may have used straight vinegar to clean with.
Someday when I buy a house I am so going to have a luxuriant tub in my primary bathroom because I haven't had a bath in too long and a nice long soak for adults is a thing with sweet smelling bath bombs.
Great job. Love the arched doorways. My only concern is that the back landscaping fell short. The paint on the deck is very nice. I'd have put down new sod and trees along the back fence for privacy.
The house is beautiful. In my personal opinion and taste if I bought this house I would change every hanging light fixture. I would then change the counter tops. I am not a fan of the gold fixtures. Also not a fan of vertical stack tiles. I agree with another comment I saw- the counter top over the upstairs beverage fridge goes past it to far. But over all again this house is beautiful!
I love the house all of the design but the gold still is too much like brass for me. I think black would have been a better finish for the lights and faucets.
I think the fireplace should have been black not brown to tie in with stair rails and other black features also the register in the dark painted ceiling stands out so much being white still
There is nothing about the reno in this house that looks expensive. The kitchen cabinets look like "vinyl" which is cheap looking. I guess this would be the modern house.
From the view I see it does not look like there’s enough room between the island and the range. Do you have to stand beside the open door to get your food out of the oven?
My husband and I are in Australia and scratching our head at what you called the bathroom tapware? What did you call it? We have never heard that before
I guess you never considered the appalling acoustics with that design? If someone breaks wind in the "living space" it will reverberate around the ground floor and up to the first floor space. Further, if you use the upstairs space as a "gaming" space, any noises will be heard throughout the house.
I don't know if I liked this look. To me, it ended up looking like something they usually tear out in old houses. The cabinet color was awful, the fireplace looks odd, everything seems to be miss matched and out of place. I don't even know why they changed out the stair lamp, as it would have match with her brass appliances. This was a flop of a flip.
The flooring choice looks dated. I’m not a fan of the texture and wood tone they picked out. The shiny cabinets don’t work at all with the overall vibe of the house, they look out of place. I would’ve done clean simple shaker cabinets. The brown chimney is awful, it doesn’t go with the house at all. Not a fan of the second floor bathroom floor tiles and the vanity lights; they look cheap. On the positives I like the size of the bedrooms and closets and I like replacing the tub with the standing shower.
My partner and I have an inside joke, we guess every time Lauren says she's doing a "statement" and it turns out black 😂🫣 Black stucco, black walls, black ceiling, black cabinets, black countertops... I know it pops but I can't imagine everyone wants black
Really hoping we can get a Republic update now that it is Q4. The way you have handled this is really saddening, especially watching you build other businesses. I know $1000 isn't much to you, but it's a lot to me, and I'm sure your other investors feel the same.
What is that electric guitar music playing in the background when you’re doing the initial tour of the house? I have to strain to hear what you’re saying over it. Please stop putting that in.
That gray backsplash is terrible ,it doesn't go with the counter tops at all. The fixtures should be black because the gold is really wrong .Why does this team always rip out the tubs? The bath was nicer before and the poor fireplace looks cheap and dirty. Thanks for leaving the brick alone this time.
Ngl. I need people to STOP taking out the tubs. We want to relax. Just get a nice soaker tub with a shower combo. I will NOT buy a home without a tub in the master at least.
Thermofoil cabinets make's it look cheap and ugly. How much money do they take? This house did not even sell for their asking. Drop it any lower. They will make no money on this. I hate when people talks about listing price and potential profit. And not actually profit.
For our taste, you ruined the home. The cabinetry looks just like our doctor's exam rooms, the fireplace was destroyed, the dining ceiling is foul, ugh. I know you guys love the "gold" fixtures but they'll be out of style in a few years and they're tacky. We liked the deck BEFORE you painted it. Paint on decks does not last long. The kitchen counters and wood floor were nice enough. We were so glad you didn't paint the exterior brick! The light fixtures are way too taste-specific. Hope they can sell the home and make money.
Wow, I have never disliked a makeover more. From the cabinets to the countertops, the light fixtures, to the painted fireplace. The brown, taupe, black, white, grey color scheme isn't working. My opinion obviously doesn't matter at all, and maybe Austin is funky, but damn, that was awkward. You guys usually do a great job. What happened?

@kbe9698, I share your thoughts.
I knew she was going to paint that fireplace. I was hoping she wouldn't.
I love it! Two things tho…adding an electrical outlet above those built ins and about the fireplace is an inexpensive and practical thing to just go ahead and do. Especially when you were saying that the upstairs landing could be a tv room. Also…the yard could be way more appealing if it were sodded or at least weedeated.
Great upgrade! Would have loved to see the fireplace redone floor to ceiling with a stone and wood combo. Still looks outdated and small for the space
Its a beautiful home, but the chocolate color fire place seems not cohesive. That color isnt anywhere else in the home. A warm taupe or black would have been better to me.
Not a fan of the fireplace at all...
Love it! I do miss the bold wallpaper bathrooms
The HVAC vent on the Black ceiling???? Paint it!
Lauren: “Look at that ugly brass ceiling fixture!”
Also Lauren: “So I’m replacing every fixture in the house with brass…”
@@ZackPennington Ha ha! So true. Stylish new brass, not that outdated, crunchy, shiny brass. 😜
but organically
The backyard deck is a tear down. Wavy af.
The windows on this house 😍
You missed a pickle joke! The cabinet finish in the original kitchen is called “pickled”.
I'm glad you're back to naming your flips. Pickle House is a great name
Should have added bifold doors from the family room to the deck, would have really opened up that space
I love the soft and warm colors throughout the house, it turned out really beautifully
Job well done. Overall great colors and fixtures. Love that the cabinets in the kitchen go all the way to the ceiling. Make the kitchen look grand. Love almost everything. The fireplace looks clunky now, but that's an easy fix.
Love everything except the new paint on the fireplace 😬it was a gross shade of brown, it was more elegant in its original stone
Love the Reno .. but why wasn’t the ceiling vent cover in the dining room not painted the same color as the ceiling? It is a definite eye sore
I love that the house was well kept in it's original state.
I love when houses have rooms, but the room has an arch way dividing each room which still gives an open concept, but each room is separate instead of just being one giant room with everything in it.
Why not replace the bathtubs with more modern ones? Love the channel and love the house. Just curious why bathtubs are shunned. 😂
Love what you guys do! I don't normally critique but I felt that you guys missed the mark on so many areas on this one that I couldn't resist. Cant wait to see what you do with this basic house!!
I like the color palette and fixtures that you chose for this home.
I praise you every time you paint a ceiling a dark color! I love it!! It's a way to set a different tone, a bit outside the norm, yet with class and subtlety. Ok, onto the rest of the video lol. Which I'm sure I'll be stunned with at the end results. 😊
WOW! You're levelling from renovating single homes to WHOLE neighbourhoods. YOU GO!!!
Great makeover! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💕💙
Love your home videos. More , More , More . ❤
Top notch design! It turned out beautiful! So glad you didn't paint the brick.❤
Looks great! The only thing I would hesitate about is the light-colored bathroom floors because they will highlight every single hair someone sheds.
The counter upstairs goes pretty far past the wine chiller.
Dining room could be an office????
Or a bedroom, or a closet or a living room or a pantry or…
I like all your videos
Interesting layout, love what you did with the upstairs loft and the dining room 😍
I’m stuck on not extending the island to allow a third seat and more workspace.
this is probably my favorite flip you guys have done! the design, color, style, and staging just goes together so well. amazing job guys ❤
Thanks so much!!
Always look forward to your episodes
There's no overhang and not the enough space for the bar stools at the island. It would look less cramped without them
Just a design secret, if you go dark on a ceiling or wall, paint the ac vents, light switch covers and outlet covers the same color as wall or ceiling
Someday when I buy a house I am so going to have a luxuriant tub in my primary bathroom because I haven't had a bath in too long and a nice long soak for adults is a thing with sweet smelling bath bombs.
The ac vents in the dining room needs to the same color as the ceiling

Sharp is the word in this video haha love it.
Single back door is a very dated look. I think spluging on double patio doors would really lift the space
Its so pretty!! I dont have a house of my own...pray i am able to earn and save to buy one
Wish you could have managed a tub in the primary 😢
This is my favourite show on RUclips ❤
What 3D rendering program do use? I help people with room makeovers & all I can do for now is mood boards. I would love to offer renderings.
Love the house, hate the arches.
I love them!
"this would be a great play room!" *puts in a wine fridge* lmaoooo
I didn’t see an electrical socket above the counter in the loft to be able to use a TV.
I love the house all of the design but the gold still is too much like brass for me. I think black would have been a better finish for the lights and faucets.
15k for a vanity & tile surround??? Thats a 5-7k job max.
agree, that estimate is insane
I think the fireplace should have been black not brown to tie in with stair rails and other black features also the register in the dark painted ceiling stands out so much being white still

Kitchen sink under a window 🎉house #1
Nice one.
My husband and I are in Australia and scratching our head at what you called the bathroom tapware? What did you call it? We have never heard that before
I’m a simple man. I see Austin Flipsters-I click.
You all always do a great work, but why do you hate bathtubs so much? lol
Liking the no drapery no curtains but heating/cooling costs?
Tile is cheap and cabinets look cheap and the entire space looks dated already. Why no doors to the back yard?
Where do y’all get the cabinets
Where do y’all get your countertops
Sorry if I missed this. Are realtor costs (5% of the 699k sales price) included in the profit calculation or was this sold off market ?
I guess you never considered the appalling acoustics with that design? If someone breaks wind in the "living space" it will reverberate around the ground floor and up to the first floor space. Further, if you use the upstairs space as a "gaming" space, any noises will be heard throughout the house.

This was a flop of a flip.
Do light fixtures come with the house in the US? Or is it part of the staging?
They stay.
Was it actually quiet in that neighborhood lol. I was thinking I had birds screaming at 3am in my house

Great video but the white balance on your video here is not set correctly for the entire video.
Maybe you should rename it Corner Cutters
What did they cut corners on?
@@anaeden6229fire place, flooring, kitchen island, backyard/patio door
I wonder if previous owners find their old home on your page.
why a microwave over the stove top? Surely not safe?
Why don’t you guys ever convert lofts into bedrooms yall could’ve kept a so-so one and added 30 grand to the resale just mentioning
it is organic
Whats with the "four" easter eggs?
What is that electric guitar music playing in the background when you’re doing the initial tour of the house? I have to strain to hear what you’re saying over it. Please stop putting that in.
Sbould have just paintes the cabinets
Yeah that what im saying plus they should’ve split the large loft into a bedroom and a small sitting area
The fireplace looks really bad … Paint isn’t always the answer
Why not keep it 1990s ?
That gray backsplash is terrible ,it doesn't go with the counter tops at all. The fixtures should be black because the gold is really wrong .Why does this team always rip out the tubs? The bath was nicer before and the poor fireplace looks cheap and dirty. Thanks for leaving the brick alone this time.
Reply to your investors, don’t just keep their money and avoid them!!
There anti tubs
Looks like you had a job lot of gloss cabinetry and wanted to use it all up. Not a great look.
Not loving the floor
My neighbors house smelled like pickles what is it?
Ngl. I need people to STOP taking out the tubs. We want to relax. Just get a nice soaker tub with a shower combo. I will NOT buy a home without a tub in the master at least.
