This is truly the roadmap to identifying the key varieties! Thank you for touching on the subject because it has been a major blur for many of us! Its literally fine tuning your search! But that FS-004 is truly the challenge just have to memorize the marks in the corner which gets you into the coin and remembering exactly the important die marks of that particular die under a microscope of some sort! Makes me wonder how many I tossed back in the change pile! Thanks for sharing
Cool 😎 I have 10 plus rolls of 72’s . Take note 📝 I have been sorting pennies for years. Rolling them by years and waiting for the discontinuation of this coin to get down to detail. Volume is the key. Just like lotto tickets. More pennies and the higher likelihood. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks Daniel I enjoy your videos very educational. I purchased the Wexler and Flynn Lincoln Cents 2nd edition. It takes alot of reading and viewing pennies to understand the different die marks. I watched 1 of your videos and I now write down the die marks and location of the marks so not mislead anyone. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. A vet
Great info for my early a.m. YT video. I love the way you presented this video. You are a professor in your own right. Thank you. Looking forward to your next video.
I found a 1972 Lincoln DDO in 1974, still looked brand new. I noticed the date doubling just looking through my change, it was very noticeable. I asked a friend (who I thought knew something) if he thought it was worth anything. He replied, "Yeah, a penny". Too bad I asked him, I would have just taped it into my scrap book. Lesson learned, find knowledgeable people if you think you may have something rare and valuable.
You can an ebay sold item search, authentication would be more important. I can't help with that without an image. coinauctionshelp.com/forum/index.php
Once again Dan a very nice video. Have a few 1972 proof sets and will have to look at them. I have proof sets from 1948 to 2017. A few like my 1972 I have a few of each year. My pride and joy is a 1876 one pfennig from Germany when I was stationed there in the mid 70's to early 80's. No wear at all on this coin.
Good morning Daniel. I got several of the 72 pennies but I don't think I got the 1000 $ one. Anyway I ordered some 2009 pennies off eBay. There hard to find. But thank you for another great video.
I ❤ your videos. They are very informative. In reviewing my 1972 pennies I noticed I have one without the “oF” on the back. The pluri is barely noticeable also. Can I email a picture to you?
Nice video Daniel, I'd like to point out that published values can be deceiving and only meant as a guide....in 2012, I sold an AU58 1972P DDO4 for $2990 (incl fees) at Heritage auctions...it was an exception, but demand can play an important role that changes almost daily
I to believe the guide book values are woefully behind the times for many types of coins. The market right now is as most collectors know, is very robust. We are really living in some great times as collectors regardless of some everyday problems.Listen to Daniel guys.He will always tell you how to get a solid idea of your coins value. He utilizes a combination of several sources.Always solid advice.
Now you going to make me go back through the roles I've been saving copper pennies for a couple years and I just put them in Rolls by the decade the same with the Washington quarters I quit at the 50th roll and just started putting them in bags waiting for the new error discovery
Daniel, great video as always! It have 3 or 4 of what I believe to the 72P ddo-004. Some Have more pronounced doubling than the other 2 but all of them have the rim cud in the correct place and shape. My question is, are you aware of any other 1972 P cents of any designation that have the same rim cud between 8 and 10 o'clock like the ddo-004? I know some ddo-004s have no cud in the EDS. My understanding is that the die deteriorated rapidly so I can't really think of how a standard struck 1972P would have the same rim cud as the ddo-004. I welcome your thoughts and I'll gather some pictures. Thanks again, Jason Carr RN
I have MANY double dye 1972, 72-D and 72-S pennies in AU/ BU condition. The MOST obvious 72-S double dye-that is VERY obvious to the naked eye However-I only have TWO. The most obvious DD worth the MOST is a lot harder to find in circ than people think.
I am always questioned because I question a lot OF MORALS I WAS TAUGHT. I SUGGEST EVERY COIN ENTHUSIAST LOOK UP NGC. THEY ARE THE FIRST AND LARGEST GRADING COMPANY!!!! AND PICK UP POINT? SOMETIMES PEOPLE PAY DIAMOND PRICES FOR CUBIC ZIRCONIA! I LOVE YOU ALL.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Scott Holliday every time I hear your name MY acquaintance...your name reminds me of the GREAT BUDDY HOLIDAY...YA KNOW!I SPELL wrong alot. I m certainly sure you know what you are doing ?I m Danny's Boy's stalker? Lol . SERIOUSLY....DID ANYONE PAY ATTENTION TO THE 1975'S? ✌
Hello, are you making reference to the 1975-S proof dime and nickel with no "S" mint mark, if so the dime is extremely rare, only two known so far. They are both worth money, but the dime is the rarest of all no "S" coins. And the most valuable.
U help more then u can imagine. Use bills to pay for things then cards. N u wouldn’t blieve what i found 😅. Indian heads 50 70’s 2015😁. Thank u Daniel 🤘😀.
You said there were different types of double dies and different values. I thought a double die was a double die. Didn't know there were different types and different values.
@@jrduke45 You do know there's 8 classes or types of doubled dies? You also know there's often more than one doubled die for any given date and mint? So there's different types for the same year and mint, they all don't look the same. So you're misunderstanding. I never claimed a doubled die wasn't a doubled die. It is much more complicated than you think.
I was watching a video on the 1972 Lincoln Siri And I got one but it’s a 1972 Ass and it’s not a proof it looks more on the business side and it’s got doubling all over the adverse and the reverse do they make a business series S ?
Listen man every strike is different, you cant compare the big money one with the next penny. They will not be identical nor close to it. They strike different with each strike. This is misleading
Thankyo for the interesting video Daniel.I have been very ill for 9 days, and so have been binge watching your past videos.I don't know about you but I cannot watch t.v. these days. All gloom and doom. Have a good day Daniel.
Thank you double. So nice even spend the time to reply to a guy across the planet. You truly are a fine teacher.

Are the coins from P the only ones that have varieties? what about D coins and S?
Go to coppercoins.com and look through their listings.
