Yes. Love Bangalore... but miss Chennai for shopping & certain veggies. Bangalore simply can't compare. There's no equal to Sundari silks/RASI/Tulsi silks here. Local shops carry ONLY shiny/ sequined stuff. That refined ELEGANCE you'd find in the above Chennai shops is sadly missing here.
Chennai might not have a greater GDP than Bangalore, but TN does than KA. Reason: The development is evenly spread across TN, where as in KA, very few cities and towns are developed.

Yes Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatoresre are good cities too. Mangalore in Karnataka is very highly developed but there is no land to develop more( western ghsts)

Both cities are great in their own ways.... But why Bangalore is better for 2 reasons .. 1. Weather 2. People.. with all the crazy and rapid unplanned development, with lots of green cover wiped out, we still have a good pleasant weather with parks and lakes... The second most important factor people, here you would find pan India and pan world people... Making it more cosmopolitan and easy going.... Bangalore is truly cosmopolitan and welcoming city. Recently the film RRR released in all 5 languages here in Bangalore, it's the only city in India to screen in all 5 languages. This point may look silly but it truly says how cosmopolitan and welcoming city is
Yeah, except the airport, which is in Bengaluru rural district, everything else is in Bengaluru urban district, like Electronics city, Whitefield, and all other major residential and commercial areas.
I am from TN but living in Bangalore but moving to Chennai soon. This is a fairly accurate representation. Bangalore is a very vibrant, youthful city and follows the west a lot. Also the weather is amazing. Chennai is very rooted and has a very diverse economy. Also the state of TN is more developed than Karnataka when it comes to GDP, GDP per capita, HDI, GER, roads, public infrastructure etc. Both are cities that have similar people but it's like a elder brother who's more conservative vs a chilled out Gen Z brother. 2 of the best cities in the country nevertheless. Youth may prefer Bangalore and the ones post 35 may prefer Chennai. Chennai manufactures a lot and Bangalore does a lot of Services work.

I am from Tamil Nadu, now living in Bangalore. I don't think Chennai can ever compete with Bangalore. Bangalore is one of the top 8 technologically advanced cities in the whole world. It is not only a city, but a global brand. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime minister of India once described Bangalore as the crowning glory of India... Frequent flooding and water scarcity (There are frequent reports of sewerage mixing with drinking water) are other major problems in Chennai.

Both cities are closer to each other. So you can technically work in one city and stay in the other if that's what you like to do. Certain trains can take you from one city to other in 5 hours.
Some parts of chennai like shollinganallur and etc are not covered in chennai but they really belonged to chennai, bcz they are distributed to nearby districts lof chennai. Shollinganallur etc. Have even it companies, so if we add them then gdp of chennai will be greater than bangalore

i have lived in both the cities and i agree with some of ur points....but chennai has a balance between its tradition and the modern lifestyle which is missing in banglore.....and i would like to disagree that chennai has more of automobile than IT. you will find atleast one person per house working in IT. anyways both of these cities are close to my heart. and love ur vdos Benjamin
I don't think so. dating is extremely hard in Chennai and I'm not talking about hookups or anything, just normal dating for a long term relationship. people are a lot more conservative in Chennai
South/North Blore areas like Basvanagudi, Jayanagar, JP nagar, Banashankari, Yeshwanthapur, Hebbal is still traditional and you can see old bengalurians leaving there but areas like Koramangala, Whitefield, Indiranagar has lost its tradition due to boom in IT space....
Banglore is like that because of IT naturally the young generation prefers money and pub culture, over other things, naturally chennai is more traditional, has more core companies, values it's conservative tradition, chennai prefers the way it is.
Because the young generation wants to enjoy modern (westernised) lifestyle. Traditional cities appear boring. That makes B'lore more attractive vis-a-vis Chennai.
Good comparison except for a few points. Chennai's airport is managed by the Government of India while Bangalore's Airport is privatized. That's the reason for the difference. Chennai's GDP is not lower than Bangalore. Chennai's suburbs are not counted as a part of Chennai which is the reason for the difference. Overall the state of Tamilnadu has a higher GDP than Karnataka. Chennai's IT industry is concentrated in a particular region unlike Bangalore. Chennai is one of the most progressive cities of India. I won't equate wearing short clothes to progressiveness. It was the people of Chennai who ensured that English continued as an official language of India. Chennai has accepted modern concepts like Atheism as early as 1920s. In fact the two most important roads of Chennai are named after atheists unlike other cities. Chennai has produced Google's CEO, PepsiCo's former CEO and one of the most influential woman in the world. The US vice president elect Kamala Harris's mom was brought up in Chennai. Kamala Harris will be the first ever woman to hold the position. Isn't that progressive? There are also nice beachside hotels (Marriott, Taj, Radisson, etc) and luxury villas South of Chennai which Bangalore simply can't have.

I dunno why you say bengaluru is better in most respects, what no city in India gives is this, the airport in Chennai is bang in middle of the city, it falls on the suburban railway network, and three terminals of Chennai namely Tambaram, Chennai Central (through Madras Park) and Egmore stations are all connected by train with Chennai airport, both EMUs and Metro, plus of course, buses, autos, cabs and what not? If you land by flight at Chennai airport, all it takes is a 150-200 yard walk across to the Thirusoolam railway station and for a mere Rs. 10 you can reach Tambaram, Egmore, Central or Beach stations. THIS CONVENIENCE IS NOT AVAILABLE IN ANY OTHER CITY IN INDIA.

I lived in both the cities for a long time. What I noticed is Tamil ppl are more welcoming if u talk in their language, but in Bangalore ppl try to learn ur language immediately and sme hw make u understand what they want to say or provide help if u seek the same. Chennai weather is horrible like bangalore traffic again they're building massive metro plans, even tram I read recently. Cheap food I prefer chennai and cleanliness bangalore without a doubt. Bangalore is more cosmopoliton and chennai being tamilish and clg conservative. Night life no city can beat Bangalore I would not mind putting this city in top 10 nightlife city in the world. Bangalore dating culture is also more popular thn chennai. Tourist places in and around hands down to Bangalore. Would love to go back to both the cities if I get the opportunity again.

If you want to be entrepreneurial and build great start-ups, Bangalore is the place to be. Bangalore's technology talent, presence of technology companies, and cosmopolitan lifestyle is much bigger than Chennai's. Chennai is too conservative and too hot/humid for me. Bangalore is more progressive and has that vibe of young people buzzing around with activity. Overall, Bangalore is a lot richer than Chennai. Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore are the 3 cities that are well connected to the world. My top 2 cities are actually Bangalore for work, and Aizawl (capital of Mizoram) for living peacefully in my later years. Bangalore does need to fix its infrastructure issues or be prepared to lose the technology capital moniker to Hyderabad, which is growing rapidly with some massive infrastructure development.
Outsiders are more prosperous in Bengaluru. Telugus are the builders mafia, startups mostly from other South Indian states and northern part of India. Local Kannadigas rent out their house n properties n live a content life.
Do compare Bangalore and Mumbai in your next video , along with Chennai and Mumbai also if possible. (Common point between both Bangalore and Mumbai being their notorious traffic, these 2 cities are otherwise quite distinct from each other, common point between Chennai and Mumbai being the super hot and humid 🔥 weather
Many prefer Bengaluru to Chennai bcz Chennai follows it's Tamil tradition so strong where outsiders can't enjoy pub life like Bangalore ..... Chennai is underrated :) ...... But i love Bengaluru too ..... Both are best 💓
Yeah! Maybe that will tip the scales! Chennai is an eclectic blend of the modern and traditional, and not only because I've lived here all my life, but, less pollution, crime and better green transport is what ANY city in India should be aiming at, and Chennai for me, is the clear winner because of that. But yeah, economy and modernity, as well as IT integration should get a boost and we're getting there- your score said 8/8 Blore vs Chennai so it was nearly a tie, and as such they are sister cities with a healthy rivalry. Come back to Chennai and I would love to show you more of my city! Vanakkam!
Bangalore and chennai will be connected with a Bullet Train , so it will not make any difference in near future ,because in 100 minutes we can be in either cities 😅😅
Despite being a chennaite myself, i've to give credits to bangalore for the amount of water available there for which we've to beg karnataka on a yearly basis :-(
I've lived in both the cities for Years & actually no one can really judge which is the best, because both are beautiful/resourceful in their own arena & strengths Well, Competitive federalism is quite important for a Democracy & I'd love to see both cities reach its potential
Chennai is traditional and Bangalore has more if immigrants from other Indian states. Pub and Bar are not kannadika's culture... So nightlife is not a factor to judge a city. Great night life means, you find unsafe roads. Also Bangalore airport is new, and Chennai is very old. Plus MAA is located inside the city. Chennai is conservative where traditional style of life is followed. Note, I have worked in both cities
Pubs and bars have been around for more than 50 years in Bangalore. They are very much part of Bangalore culture. Many pubs are excellent, even better than pubs in other countries. Nightlife is important if you are young, single, and have some spending money. Many young people do not like to live in a city that rolls up its sidewalks at 9 pm.
@@sowmitriswamy6718 this is what pub seeking people who are less 35 years old think of life these days. Bangalore is not just a cyber hub, unfortunately people don't consider their own or respect the natives.... It has such a rich heritage and culture. The only difference with Chennai is the originality cos immigrants in bangalore act like tourist abd tarnish every good thing abt the city.

It's totally a wrong prediction.. Chennai is actually far better than polluted Bangalore.. Bangalore is unplanned city.. except weather nothing is favourable to Bangalore.. Chennai is good at all except weather that too for foreigners.. Indians can anyways get adjusted to Chennai's weather (most of them will say "Chennai is very hot", even then they stay there to earn money). Bangalore is just an IT hub.. Chennai is an Automobile hub, Health tourism hub, Cultural hub and gate of South India.. u didn't mention Chennai as a Detroit of Asia but u said Bangalore is a silicon valley of India.. you seem to be biased.. also Chennai is recognised by lonely planet as a best city in India and it didn't recommend any other cities in India.. and when it comes to footfall, there are large number of visitors from others countries and states to Chennai and not to Bangalore.. so before giving some info please get to know and don't blabber only on which city you like..
Bangalore is not just an IT hub , it has biotechnology , aerospace , HAL , isro , bharath electrical etc
look at the images for the 2 cities stallone for blr n A cartoon caricature for chennai. did you choose it urself Mr jenkins? looks like some one gave you content and asked you to post it for money.. total sell out. genuiness of your blog lost.
You were not explored Chennai. This is a useless review. The first thing is to visit Chennai city properly. 🇮
Exactly
U butthurt 😅
If I were you, I wouldn't touch this topic even with a ten foot pole. There is an massive amount of pride attached to these things. Oh btw ... Coimbatore hands down beats both :p (you get the idea)
U have to be a coimbatorian to understand and value it
I am from Chennai but live in coimbatore and I can say coimbatore is better
Coimbatore is definitely better than Chennai but Bangalore beats both anyday!
@@SimHustler sorry couldn't hear your argument over the sound of traffic. Am joking buddy. To each his own town. Cheers.
@____________ no way lol. Coimbatore weather has become shit, it has become dirty, roads are crap, and majority of the city has open sewers like as if it's the 90s. I fall sick everytime I come to Coimbatore. Disgusting
I would say BengaLuru is the winner because most of the Chennaites living in Bengaluru would prefer to continue to stay in Bengaluru :-)
Ben, I would recommend you to visit Mysore once! not a hustling bustling cities like Bengaluru and Chennai but surely you will love the place.
Bro good joke don't maje me laugh .. people from chennai don't even give a fuck about Bangalore..it's all modek Tamils who stsyed In chennai since British or non chennaities who got placed in Bangalore don't bluff chennai is more livable , poosh and safe city thaan banglore
😍😍😍
You must do all India tour..
Your videos are amazing
I am an Indian, my native is TN , born in Chennai, but live in Bangalore. I visit Chennai frequently. I have family living in Chennai too. IF u really want an experience that is more INDIAN and more traditional, dont come to Bangalore, Chennai is the best in terms of being more Indian. (Bangalore has a highly diverse population and is too westernized. 😑)
IT part is damn misleading , yes Bangalore is the IT hub of India , but Chennai too has lots of IT opportunities. And for the climate, Bangalore WAS good, now with the removal of the hills around the city and pollution, it's bad. But at the end of the day, both cities are good 👍
You backstabbers. This is how you betray karnataka 😠😠
@@rajavishnuvardhana6830 LMAO anna nan kannadiga anna , I luv Bangalore, when did I betray? My education , money and identity is from this beautiful city and state only. Overall, INDIA is great.
@@rajavishnuvardhana6830 don't be too political, nobody is backstabbing anyone
Please do travel videos about Hyderabad and Telangana state ... pls do a similar systematic Chennai vs. Hyderabad video.
Bangalore is great but the problem is crowd , traffic, pollution , improper drainage or garbage collection .
what, garbage collection is best here... What the hell
I dont know what standards you are keeping but bangalore has relatively one of the best garbage collection
@@frankribery3362 are you sure? If not please every other part of Bangalore not just your street and drainage is extremely bad
@@frankribery3362 I have seen smelly ton of garbage on street and side of the road near some streets of madiwala lake
@@nmkkannan1256 Lol you should visit chennai the dirtist city in india
Ben... Really appreciate your time in sharing your point of view about two wonderful cities...
Am a chennait (born and brought up) completed by degree, then I worked in Delhi NCR for many years and now in Bangalore, because of my profession ....
Honestly the locals will always be baised to their respective city, for instance in my case I like both cities but love my home city of Chennai 🙏.... Both these cities have their pros and cons , but for any foreign national who stays in India like yourself if you are looking for a more westernised outlay of thoughts then Bangalore is better suited , however to be clear there are similar parts of Chennai which you may have not explored yet as well.
Either ways when it comes to food, both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as states have wonderful cusien , it all depends on your palate 👍
Much appreciated for your video, mostly all southern states are very warm and welcoming to any new commer to our localities enjoy your stay and have blessed experience or our vibrant cities, states and country 🙏
Weather is pleasant in Bangalore but other factors like racism, communalism causing the image of the city
Chennai and Bangalore don't compete but complement each other.. a good comparison though.
Im sorry man u didnt expolre the modern part of chennai
Next time!
@@bjenks 👍
Vanakkam!
Bangalore and chennai will be connected with a Bullet Train , so it will not make any difference in near future ,because in 100 minutes we can be in either cities 😅😅
that would be cool
No bullet train
Connect by hyperloop
So we go in just 25 minutes
@Zero Cool Chennai has some of the coolest places so Bangalore is shit comparing to it
Despite being a chennaite myself, i've to give credits to bangalore for the amount of water available there for which we've to beg karnataka on a yearly basis :-(
I've lived in both the cities for Years & actually no one can really judge which is the best, because both are beautiful/resourceful in their own arena & strengths
Well, Competitive federalism is quite important for a Democracy & I'd love to see both cities reach its potential
Thanks Prs, good info
Pubs and bars have been around for more than 50 years in Bangalore. They are very much part of Bangalore culture. Many pubs are excellent, even better than pubs in other countries. Nightlife is important if you are young, single, and have some spending money. Many young people do not like to live in a city that rolls up its sidewalks at 9 pm.
@@sowmitriswamy6718 this is what pub seeking people who are less 35 years old think of life these days. For many going to pub is a symbol (I can see this in Europe) or others who love to drink think...
Half of Bangalore population are from other Indian states... Talk to a true Kannada person, he or she will talk about their culture.
Chennai is kongas village
@@monicamonica2320 My experience with kongas is that they are good, hardworking, honest people which a pompous elite looks down upon for no reason. .
Bangalore is actually slightly to the south of Chennai
what
@@frankribery3362 yep
No. Chennai and Bangalore are almost parallel to each other.
@@solitudeking7939 yeah almost. but b'luru is slightly (about 1 degree) south
@@sujalgarewal2685 okay bro

I asked you to come to Bangalore, not knowing you have lived in here.. cheers mate.. you are awesome
Very good analysis and I myself moved back to Bengaluru due to the said reasons that you mentioned in your video.
Great 👍
Thanks a lot 👍🏽
என்னதான் ஊர் குருவி உயர பறந்தாலும் பருந்து ஆகாது. உடலில் ஒரு பகுதி பெருத்தல் அது ஆரோக்கியம் அல்ல.
But banglore has proved it is great
Some banglore haters think it's not hawk it's sparrow
Banglore has prove itbhas techno cleanses and everything
So bettter don't dream much
Chennai has very IT hubs, just search places called guindy, OMR, sipcot and few others. Chennai is Collab with IT and hardware. Chennai welcomes you
Bangalore is more cosmopolitan. I prefer the city over most cities in India. It has become unliveable nowadays because of poor Infrastructure
Hey !Now we have 2 things in common. Lansing, both being spartans and man do I love Bangalore, i am from there.
That's awesome!!!!!
Bangalore looks new as compared to Madras. Both were good as of yore..but young educated multilingual millinials seem to prefer Bangalore of the 21st century!
Yes bro. We the Chennai people think negative when seeing shorter dresses in ur city. Because this an traditional city. It's not USA. This is our Pride.
You stuck in 1940, it's shameful how bad it is for women in chennai
12:50 - Are you telling wearing shorter clothes is progressive? Wnat logic is this?
In case of GDP, Tamil Nadu has more diversified GDP. It explains the density of the city. Hence I see the GDP a positive one.
It's not that much better than karnataka tamil nadu GDP, and GDP per capita is higher in karnataka than TN
Chennai people’s are very awkward, they don’t give respect to other people. There Life of living is very poor. In Bangalore almost all are millionaires
No , bro you are wrong only some of them hates people of other state. I have many Tamil friends they respect us but I encounter only some people who only try to make you feel bad and inferior. Some of them try to show that only Tamil and people of Tamil nadu are great others have no history, no culture. But you will find some people who will be very friendly.
All cities are best in India safe and secure homely feeling everywhere joy the days everyday it sounds different here
May be you have not been to north .. Delhi and several states of UP is quite unsafe.
Sesh Bikeler Golpo it’s how u be and how u act I roamed all India and 4 countries India is far 90 percent safe compared to others
South India is safe
@ARUN RAJAN true bro
@ARUN RAJAN both sides good peoples and bad peoples are their in india
🤣 tamilnadu is better than karnataka because BJP RULING KARNATAKA.. 🌝
Bangalore is not just a cyber hub, unfortunately people don't consider their own or respect the natives.... It has such a rich heritage and culture. The only difference with Chennai is the originality cos immigrants in bangalore act like tourist abd tarnish every good thing abt the city.
okay thanks so
Why the hell, everyone focus on the weather and night life only? Just explore completely and get to know that Chennai is much much much better than any other city in the country. The most versatile city in India that can cater to industry, education, health, environment, entertainment, culture, transport ❤️ at both the cheap and costly rates
Hey bro when are you coming to chandigarh , it is one of most beautiful city of india , i promise you will amaze please come if you have time
For young age less than 35 Bangalore
For middle aged chennai for less pollution more traditional .
Anyways choices are subjective.
