Do you have any tips for someone who wants to solo in jazz but doesn’t really know where to start? I know a few jazz standards and can make up some of my own progressions but I can’t solo for the life of me. Please help me.

anybody has tips on voicins on guitar for comping? nothing spectacular, just to play for myself without having to jump and play barre chords or sth
Try using some drop2 voicings (search google for that) an the try to keep the top note to be de voicleading or nice melodies - for example C6 (with c on top) - A-7b5 (with c on top) - D-7b5 (with c on top) - G7b9 (with b ond top) - and so on
you can also looking into the using the upper chord extensions. Don't worry about the root, us bass players got that covered
