Finally got my account with Cummins, ready to finally get on their web based training. Of course they wont have all their motor issues outlined in their training so times like these it's great to have channels like this to reference the common issues and symptoms of big rig motors. Thanks for the informational video and keep up the great work over there at TAT Express! Many thanks from Upstate NY.
Thanks for your informative video. This remind me a cummin engine v-555 engine oil and coolant dillusion. I stripped the engine and find out the source of coolant leaks comes from the air compressor.
@@TATEXPRESSINC Mr.Adam, I have a question have you encountered a tractor that’s has gone through 5 EGR coolers within a year ? I work in a fleet so a yard mule that is equipped with Cummins ISB that constantly breaks down for coolant loss it always turn out to be the egr cooler, and I know that they place OEM egr cooler, I just find it weird.
HELP!! My dad bought a KW t660 Cummins ISX and has been to most every shop in East Texas and no luck... Truck can idle for hours with no issue, but 45 minutes after hitting the road it will just die, after a few minutes it turns back on fine and runs again for another 30-45 minutes before dying again.. Thanks!
Both platforms struggled to produce a quality engine while meeting EPA standards. Later models are usually the best to go with. Detroit is a bit less expensive to maintain. Currently both models are seeing parts shortages.
With the parts and new truck shortage, it is essential to keep up with maintenance and conduct inspections. Schedule your appointment if you're in Dallas Tx. 972-225-3017 🧐💪🏼🔧
Coolant leaks into the air side of the cooler, drips down into the exhaust, goes inside exhaust ports 3-6 and can find its way onto the piston for hydrolock. It’s can also seep past the rings and straight down into the oil sump. Currently doing on now.
I have isx 15 kenworth t680 2016 model I have issue 1 gallen Coolent burn every 6 hours driving finally check at dealerships they change crankcase filter after week same sing comes in truck go to diagnose mechanic says crankcases filter gone while I change a weeks ago but he sad your Coolent go to engine we have to check EGR they open my EGR nothing leaking over thare then open my turbo that’s also clean and good then open my head there is Maine bolt cracked broken in side head they fix it after fix it so many sign comes on now bill is reddy 15000 $ mechanic says u pay me then take it whenever u want I have no solution your truck motor is gone I have drive935000 mile on it suggested me wt should I have to do

I have oil in my coolant on my 05 freightliner century. Found out my oil cooler is bad. Good info bro!
Thank you for the excellent detailed explanation for the causes of coolant in the oil.
Damn i learned more about my cummins in this video than I've learned in 5 years of owning it

Giovannie V, is the engine consuming oil? Check the exhaust ports upstream for signs of oil, fuel, or coolant.
@@TATEXPRESSINC Not at the moment will keep a eye on it , but truly appreciate your help. Thanks Adam!

love this channel great work
1 thing to note with the x15 platform. Oil burn off using 10w30. It burns that 10w30 like it's nothing. Use 15w40 and change oil before 20k miles
Love this channel!!
Awesome info Adam. Those Detroit connecting rods seems to do better job in those cylinders liners..
Love the content
Very informative what about coolant going in the fuel tanks and fuel filters?
Happened to me. Replaced injector cups. Dealer will say cylinder head but the injector cups is what you need to replace.
I have oil in my crankcase using about 1 gallon of coolant a day...haven't ran hot yet i keep my fan on..what should i check
Sir if you don't mind can I ask to make a video on cummins isx15 cm570 (service, repair, causes, fixing etc) please?
My ISX is getting coolant in the fuel, but no coolant in the oil samples. At a shop now waiting for diagnosis. 🤦♂️
Injector cups
Has any asked about oil into coolant? That is one video I would like see your diagnostic’s.
Can a bad oil cooler cause you to dump 5 gallons of coolant per day into the oil
Was there a hidden message on the isx / Detroit piston difference ?
Don’t know why they went with a single oring design. In my opinion 3 orings is superior like most of the other semi truck engine manufacturers use

People who say Volvo D13 is junk... Let me tell you that the Volvo D13 has 3 lower cylinder sleeve O rings... Not 1..... "3"
What was the difference in the pistons?
What year was the Peterbilt?

Great video Adam but I have a question in your professional opinion as a shop owner do you feel Cummins is a superior product to Detroit?

High valium of coolant......?
How many miles does this happen???
I had oil get in coolant and when I pulled down number 6 liner came out with out tools
I have the same issue . Was it oil from the transmission?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've been told its impossible to get coolant in the oil from the egr cooler
