why is forcing people to party up fine, but forcing people to pvp is not? I would love if party spots had scalable hp where if I party up, the mobs are getting tougher but also drop loot for 2 people (and more for more people), we would have drop in - drop out grind zones where you can join any time and leave any time without being a detriment to other players
The issue I have with the solo vs group content takes discussed here is the fact that group content has been wildly ignored throughout BDO's history.... and it's not really even close to be honest. As a long time player, Gyfin was really our first group area and that wasn't until Kama. Sure, now we have turos, gyfin, olun's, altar imps, abandoned monastery but it's dwarfed by solo play spots. I really think that in the next few years BDO needs to push for more group content in general. Sometimes you log on and just wanna play with the boys but why do that when i can get 30-40% more silver grinding solo?
I would love to see you bringing some PvP players onto this podcast. Think people like me would want to hear SOME sort of discussion around PvP related topics as opposed to having only Blue's perspective

Group content is not an issue.it how they introduce the group content because most group player don't grind together for the purpose of being in a group.Oluns example most grind because of treasure piece. The system Jay is trying to say I saw best in roblox of all places the game is called deepwoken and in terms of bdo I think every elite mod or ever lets say 10-20 packs you get a card that would make you strong to those mobs what ever it be attacks do more back attack damage, more crit damage, attacks with sa deal % more damage until you beat a super elite and then your cards reset, so you are making a build lets say each 30 mins with random cards, some hours you might get 2 bad builds and get 20k trash but other hours you might get a legendary card and get at 35k trash hour, just spit balling but I love that idea, look at deepwoken its an amazing concept that I have not seen done anywhere else

It's also going to cost PA a fortune to hire out a company to do it. If theres 5 solo grind area's introduced 2 duo 1 trio and 1 5 man group grind area released in area's i think its pretty evenly spread. People who ONLY want to do the 5 man content just see 5 solo area's 2 duo's and 1 trio as being 'overkill catering' to solo players when its pretty well spread out. When bdo released o'draxx there was a push back on the 2/3 man grind spots and now you can solo it. There should be a way to make 'solo' grind spots be turned into duo/trio/5man grind zones (personally think something like dehkia should have turned those zones into group grind zones)
Just make the grind spots more group friendly. A friend of mine started recently and we had almost no options grinding together. Like none. We had a lot of fun with altar imps but that’s about it. If you want to progress you are forced to play alone. Just make all grind spots group friendly. Problem solved
They should revamp everything between catfish and Valencia spots like Nagas. They could make half of them party grind spots and no one will shed a tear. Mediah, the late Calpheon, and the existing party grind spots like Woragons are a complete waste.

As for organising a group, spending several hours getting a group together just to grind an hour or two together doesn't actually sound that appealing. If that's part of the fun and experience, I'll pass, would rather waste my time on something more productive alone. In the end, each to their own.

Ive legit never done any of the dungeons not even once, never done salies, never done that valtaurra challenge, hate turos, altar imps is trash, maybe 30 mins of oluns total... probably like 20 hrs of uppies in like 4 years. I cant even do guild gvg and thats the only thing im interested in. Id rather not have my progress gated by finding a team and motivating them to play as much as me. Most days i play 2-3x the amount of time most of my guildies and friends do. When im progressing i dont want to have to schedule breaks and wait for replacements if someone leaves. Most of the time i dont even want to grind for more than 20-30 mins at a time and i alternate spots at that point or lifeskill for a while till im ready to grind again.
One of the biggest barriers to group content is the requirement to have a Shai with you. Fix that first, nerf the bajesus out of the buffs and increase the utility kit of the class, or rip it out and rebuild it from the ground up.
The problem with BDO group content is that the power levels between players who have played for less than 2 years and players who have been here for a long time is restrictive. Arena of Solare is the best thing to happen to BDO in a long time, but we need an AoS gear battle arena. AoS battlegrounds would also be great.
People insist they only want solo content, but really you need to force players to get outside their comfort zone. Its a MMORPG. The thing that keeps many players coming back to the same old mmos for years is the community and forcing players to cooperate more builds friendships and the community itself. The game has plenty of solo stuff already. We need more group content, but that doesn't mean we have to stop making solo activities. I agree with Blue 110%
I feel like any RPG that allows the npc's and the world to change according to your actions is a W. Mass Effect, Skyrim, BDO, KOTORs, Dragon Age, etc. Your decisions and actions actually matter. Wait.....there are discords to find parties? Well I be damn. That arena mode Jay was talking about reminded me of the battle game in FF7 Gold Saucer. Idk if 14 has it too. The only way to get the ribbon acc which was best in slot to null all status effects and the final Limit break for the main character was to progress through the tiers of the battle. Each one could roll random passives/effects at beginning of match. From nothing to break your ring to get turned into a frog. These gave you tokens and eventually you would have enough to buy the two best items. Cinematic Epic-ness vs garbo ig graphics: DCUO Opening Story! Holy crap. I'd watch that thing like it was a movie! Every time! Red on a Black Desert could be a group thing in the desert where guilds protect dig site NPCs at multiple sites from ancient weapons and bandits. It could be huge and epic like war of the roses where a commander sends forces where they are needed and there are forts and weapon builders to make entrenched weapons that break armor on "Hardened" bosses so ppl could do uncapped damage. Only the commander has intel on where they are coming from. The reward to the teams would be a huge amount of black stones, caphras, and other items you'd find out there. Not to mention bosses, elites, and mobs would dropped a crap ton of trash that one could use agris on so even if you aren't top it would be profitable and a change from doing circles. There could be mob diversity where the high GS ppl would be needed in one place, while say the accuracy builds would be needed over there, and the high FG classes would be to the south or something. All of this would take place at a prolonged night period. It could be so huge and noticeable that a particular desert dragon pays a visit with maybe a higher drop rate and a varied item table. Thoughts?
What i enjoy about BDO is the fact i can log in for just a few hours and progress at my own pace. I do not want to be restricted with my time by having to find a group and worry if that group is efficient and if that group can grind for the same amount of time or will i have to find a new group every hour.
There are a lot of mobile mmos that have pvp game modes where you start from base gear and gear up via mobs in the pvp instance. They are always the most fun! That would be an awesome game mode in BDO!
BDO should take a page from ff14 it has a lot single player content but also a lot of group content it should invest in a from of Q up system for group content but you have to be at the place you are Q up for so the world will still have traveling in it and also the maw needs a massive overhaul a better one for story

Would be nice if PA stopped catering to 'artistic' players and we had more group content. The neuroatypical people can do the solo stuff if they want to, it's already like 90% of the game, nobody is asking for it to be removed.

People like these that say "focus more on solo content" is why BDO is in shitty state and everybody is playing it less and less and less and less... afk fishing and training isnt playing. Thats called addiction and fomo. Just proof that you can have thousands of hours in the game and have 0 clue what game needs.
