Hey. Don't quote me on this but I think what he's doing is like Open G tuning, but instead of dropping strings 1, 2 and 6 down a whole step, hes taking the the other 3 up a whole step with his weird capo thing. Do instead of the key being in G, it's in A. You could accomplish the same thing by tuning to Open G and putting a regular capo on fret 2. Cheers!
