    As you state, a good all-purpose wrench and socket set to carry in a vehicle or lightweight kit. It is fully compatible with the Gearwrench Pass Thru 3/8" handle, sockets and extensions. I added a 3" extension and a 3/8" adapter that allows me to use it with standard sockets (both are Gearwrench parts, easily found on Amazon/eBay). The case/holder sucks, as you pointed out.

    Just had a look for the extension it's every where Makita sell them other tool brands sell them with a full socket sets there is one brand and they have three different lengths of extensions 1.5", 4", 8" made by draper so there are plenty of sets in the uk what a clever tool 👍🏻.

      I have a few 3 or 4" long extensions, Husky branded. Definitely adds to the functionality of the set. It has a clever design for sure. Thanks for commenting and watching.

    I just ordered one of these sets because the price was very tempting, and your review helped me to persuade me that it was worth giving it a try. Since the packaging tray is flimsy and useless, have you found a good storage solution for the sockets, given that they won't clip onto a normal socket rail?

    • @MTRFAB
      @MTRFAB  2 года назад

      Best solution I came up with.... A Milwaukee tool zipper tool pouch. I keep the sockets loose in there with the wrench and an extension. It's alright if you only have one set in the bag.... Digging for the right size isn't too bad. I had two complete sets in one bag... Then it became difficult to just get the size I was looking for. It's probably the biggest downside.... They are not easily identifiable, over time the markings wear off. They are not imbossed. Now, I keep one complete set in the bag with 2 wrenches and an extension. The other set of sockets I keep separate. I can do all kinds of stuff with that one bag. Thank you for commenting. Enjoy your new tool purchase....This has been a wonderful tool for me for years now.

      @@MTRFAB I guess one of those magnetic socket holders might work too, but I don't want to carry that extra weight around, so I'll stick with the zip pouch idea

    • @MTRFAB
      @MTRFAB  3 года назад +1

      They call them pass thru sockets. I have not seen them in that large of a size. I agree. They should make a larger set.

  • @zorbaseatery4745
    @zorbaseatery4745 3 года назад

    Sweet. Could one technically use the newer Gearwrench locking flex head pass through ratchets with the Crescent pass through sockets?
    Also, how much torque can the Crescent sockets handle? I've always heard 6 pts are better for tougher bolts but I dig the versatility of spline for DIY. The bonus of course is the adjustable wrench on the other end.
    Cheers!

    • @MTRFAB
      @MTRFAB  3 года назад +2

      I don't believe the new locking flex heads will work with the sockets. The sockets have a specific size and drive that the same through all sizes. The wrenches are all different sizes. If that makes sense.
      As far as torque.... More than enough. I've never stripped or cracked a socket. I use them ALL the time. Thank you for watching. Happy DIY.
