Can I be honest with you Joe? I like it. People hate on the Nissan cvt but all of my family have Nissan cvt powered cars, and with the right maintenance, they’re not bad
The panoramic roof is what sold me to the Kicks. And their infotainment setup looks more modern than an HR-V or a Corolla Cross. It's just a better package for the money.
@34JOSH212 I'm just stating what I like. And what a panoramic sunroof has anything to do with an Escaldae. It's not only a luxury feature. You sounded like a deranged baby boomer who is still stuck in 2004!
Except with that horrible jatco cvt transmission, nissan always makes good looking vehicles and decent engines, but can't fit their horrible transmissions
@@Tragick_Sin Shouldn't be an issue anymore. They finally put chain driven CVTs in the '21 Rogue, '19 Altima, '24 Sentra and now '25 Kicks. Since going to the chain driven one, reports of CVT issues are basically gone. Neither the '19+ Altimas nor the '21+ Rogues have a single logged NHTSA complaint for Transmission yet. It took a friggin decade and a half, but it seems like they've finally figured out that belt driven CVTs are just not good.
Bought an sr 3 weeks ago when it first got shipped to the dealer. Love everything about it and the luxury it brings only being around 32k is unmatched. Only thing I wish for is more hp but one car can’t have it all lol.
For a commuter car, it’s not bad. My wife and I are in a new Sentra for a rental and that 2.0 is fine for highway and has been good on gas. 5.8 Litres so far on our 120 kms so far. This Saturday we have to drive from St. Catherines Ontario to Alliston Ontario to see my family, a 200 km drive and 200 kms back. Will see what we get for gas mileage and how far on the tank. This should be able to get close to what I suspect in real world conditions. This would be a good next vehicle for my highway driving. And would be very comfortable to drive.
Nissan actually has one of the best CVT out there. Btw, Toyota, Honda, Subaru all use CVT. Lexus uses CVT as well. Do your regular maintenance and you’d be fine.
31k isn't bad at all. The 360 cameras are impressive for that price point. The interior is nice. I mean it's not big enough for my banana hammock, but its pretty nice.
This 2025 Nissan Kicks Joe makes me even more glad that they made the right decision to discontinue the Juke with it's horrendous design. The Kicks started out a little funky, but now has proved itself a worthy contender in the segment. (Minus CVT, of course)
This is a great looking Nissan Kicks, but CVT is a no-go. If Nissan wants customers back, they need to ditch the CVT completely and give a hybrid as an option.
Nissan is kicking it up across the full lineup of vehicles, love the new looks and tech great job Nissan I’m a big fan of the Nissan brand, great job Joe and Lori!!
Had my daughter in two Subaru Impreza's and went to the new design Sentra. Thought about now with AWD going to this new Kicks but Subaru's AWD just feels overall safer with better handling.
Joe @4:37 you forgot pathfinder ... but Im not gonna zonk you for that ... what Im gonna zonk is the lack of power seat adjustment... its not a dealbreaker though
That's nice. I have a 2023 Kicks, and I only see a Kicks on the road or in a parking lot once in a while. However, the parking lots and roads are loaded with other Nissan cars.
Let's all just take a moment and be thankful that Nissan has finally put *CHAIN* driven CVTs in their Sentras, Altimas, Rogues and Kicks. I think I speak for everyone (including Nissan) when I say *GOOD RIDDANCE* to belt driven CVTs!
I had 3 Jukes. I just got the 2025 Kicks AWD. The kicks is a great little micro suv but it doesn't have the power or handling that the Juke did. Nissan should have given the Juke a facelift and avoided the Kicks project completely.
Joe this is hands down the best looking Compact SUV in it's class in my opinion. However, the Mazda CX-30 is still crushing the competition when it comes to the driving dynamics.
Just drove a friends Crosstrek...2024 Red over black and it was OK! Seems very similar inside and CVT was ok. Lots of jump off the line but no REAL power! Funny orange accents in the CT too!
The horsepower and torque is just not enough to sell me on it. 140hp vs the Crosstrek’s 180hp makes it an easy decision for me. Neither is too quick but a 9 second 0-60 is just too slow. But either way, great review Joe!
I like it, the interior looks nicer as my 2023 Sportage ( European modell ) and the trunk is the same size even tough the car is 6 inch shorter as my Sportage 😞
This is going to hurt Mitsubishi with the Sport... I'm going to buy one as a runabout. It's cheaper than a sport and more modern . These are great, and i can leave my German drama queen vehicles at home 😂
This generation is way better than last gen. They got you covered with technology. Interior is much better. Im shocked to see a panoramic sunroof especially at this price point. The one thing im not sold on is the cvt. Nissan cvts arent great
Joe: nice style/and good awd but they missed the mark with no turbo and 8 speed auto trans. I've viewed so many reviews that you have to think way ahead when merging in traffic- this is a safety concern !! Would you want to merge on a skate board? I noticed very loud cabin noise. Bose is great!
Seems like a nice small SUV. Would you cross shop this with the Buick Envista/Encore GX? I would, and the Buicks offer more amenities for similar pricing. Thanks for the review. Something to consider
Good job by Nissan with this new Kicks, but it would be nice if a power driver's seat, power lift gate, and dual-zone climate control were available. Also, find a way to get ten to fifteen more horsepower out of that engine. Finally, while the CVT has improved, it would still be better if a conventional automatic took its place. If Nissan would implement these additions, they'd really have something special.
The Kicks is definitely better (than before) but the Crosstek is still a bridge too far. Better but not quite to the Subie's level. It's actually nice to see a freshing of the Kicks this early considering how the rest of Nissan's lineup is so long in the tooth. Surprised me, tbh. This is actually the type of car that the market needs.
You can get it with panoramic moon roof, speaker in the head rest and heated seats but can’t get a power driver seat? So strange. Just add power seats.
@ agreed! But only if they are using the Jatco 3 CVT to where they don’t tell you to not change the fluid. I have a 22 Mitsubishi Outlander with that one and haven’t had any problems or struggles with it thankfully!
When I saw this car when it first came out I went to go do a recall on my car and saw it for the first time I told the tech that’s the ugliest interior I’ve seen it looked like a European Taxi . I’m glad they updated it .
People who are saying 'the design is great!' -- do you not see all the cheapo plastics around the bottom skirt of the car, around the dual screens and climate controls? How is that premium, in any sense of the word?
Joe - I sure do get a kicks out of your cool reports. will Nissan survive? what kind of future do you think they have? I kinda like Datsun/Nissan. did Suzuki stop selling in America? thanks brother
I think Nissan's future is much brighter ever since ousting cost cutter CEO Carlos Ghosn a few years ago. The Frontier truck kept its v6 and is selling well, the Kicks is already selling well, so is the Rogue, the Pathfinder is competitive, the new Armada is a huge improvement. Nissan is on the right path.
All cars companies are doing the same thing it’s like Mercedes did the dual screen years and years ago and now all car companies have the same dual screen layout from Kia to Nissan to genesis all the cars look exactly alike
The interior of this car feels more premium than premium car brands 😅
You are so very right about tgst
That’s why I bought it

I appreciate the honest and trust me I get where you are coming from.
I still got one. The old CVT are bad. You get use to it but when you drive another car you really notice how bad it is.
Nissan has vastly improved their newest CVTs and are proving to be much more reliable.
@marvinmurakami8828 I agree.
CVTs don't power the car. The engine does. Most auto experts consider the CVT to be an affliction, not a transmission.
The panoramic roof is what sold me to the Kicks. And their infotainment setup looks more modern than an HR-V or a Corolla Cross. It's just a better package for the money.
I trust the 2 litre engine more in both the Corolla Cross and the HRV.
@@jamisonz3365 Good for you!

I love this Nissan Kicks & as an affordable SUV I feel like this is a cool cool SUV.

The Nissan Kicks is a pretty cool compact SUV! It's known for its stylish design, good fuel efficiency, and a bunch of tech features.
This would've been a great first car during my highschool years
I am glad they got awd option in this kicks which was preventing me from considering a kicks but now its under my rader
Nice to see they updated the interior.
Nissan actually has one of the best CVT out there. Btw, Toyota, Honda, Subaru all use CVT. Lexus uses CVT as well. Do your regular maintenance and you’d be fine.
It's finally chain driven, that's the biggest takeaway. CVT issues should no longer be a thing.
31k isn't bad at all. The 360 cameras are impressive for that price point. The interior is nice. I mean it's not big enough for my banana hammock, but its pretty nice.
For about the same price though you can step into a bigger Chevy Equinox that also has a 360 camera.
I saw this SR model in Miami for less than 26k. Once Nissan begins giving incentives, it will go lower.
When I was a kid in the early 80s 0 -60 in 9.5 seconds was considered a decent performer even for a V8.

The only thing that would give me pause is the CVT. Otherwise, I really like what they did with the Kicks. And that blue..😍😍
This Kicks hasn't even been out 3 months and I'm starting to see them quite a lot. The two-toned color combos are really attractive.

Nothing like the Juke design or the Kicks first generation.
I like the design and reduced dimensions of this vehicle.
I plan on getting one in a couple of years and it will be even better if they offer a hybrid model then.

19 inch wheels on a car like this serves no purpose but to make the ride harsher and the tires a lot more expensive. Even 18 inch would be pushing it.
The entry level and midlevel SV trim have 16 and 17 inch wheels respectively.
