Halfmoon bay kayak fishing (1st time EVER!)

- It was one hellava experience for me, one I will never forget! I had my line soaking in the water for just about 3 hours and I managed to pull in two lingcods and 4 rockfish.
The waves near the entrance was treacherous from the combination of the boaters and the wind. I can recall seeing a 10 ft wave which my life flashed before my eyes but we got through it.
I can not wait to go back and take you guys along with me! Halibuts will be my next target.

Congrats on your first salt water experience and nice ling. Saltwater kayak fishing is fun and you can catch bigger fishes too. Check the swell forecast in magic seaweed site, pick calm days and always take Dramamine too and that will help. This Sunday and the rest of next week will be flat in HMB, like 2 ft every 14-15 sec so good time for you and Michael to try it again. Tight Lines.

At least I didn’t empty the gut like my lil bro did, straight chumming 😂 I was so scared when a 10ft wake came roaring towards us but I didn’t get it on camera. All it took was one trip and I spent $300 on salt water tackle 🤦🏼♂️ gotta thank michael for that. Anyways, I look forward to more trips out there when it’s a bit more calm

Thank you! I brought all of those items myself. I do not think the kayak company there have any kayak suitable for fishing outside of the jetty but don’t quote me on that. I’m sure if there was a picture perfect day out there then any kayak would do

Shih Yu Lin yes we own the kayaks we took out there. I wish I could help but it was really my first time fishing the salt so I have no clue at all about renting or places you could find. Good luck to ya

@@FishingWithAlexS I have only gotten the kayak out once this year to go trolling for trout. With the shutdowns of many fishing spots, I just did not want to get it out. Most of my fishing has been afterwork quick trips. I will be out again yakking. I hope to see you out there.

Nice catch bro! Was there a lot of structure when u got the ling? Looked mostly flat on the radar, how deep was it? I usually get scared more than 50 ft on kayak at hmb lol
Tai S haha I feel ya man. I was scared as hell to be out there but it was all rocky when you get to the green buoy with the bell. That’s where we caught the fish. It’s around 40-60 ft in that area
