One of the greatest debut albums, regardless of decades. Certainly the best by anyone under 18. Michael Jackson was older with Off the Wall, which is the nearest comparison in my book.
Pillar to Post and the whole of High Land, Hard Rain helped change my life in 1984. I did indeed 'pack my bags' by deciding to leave Law College, which I was finding really boring!
I was already a big fan of Aztec Camera when I was 15 years(1985) old and I lived in France so they were totally unknown . So it was hard to find the records ! Fortunately, I found 2 or 3 great records stores . UK music is the best !
Brilliant track from such an underrated band. There must have been more than one 7" version because my copy had a fade-out ending. Maybe some copies had the album version? No matter though, great sound whichever one you hear.
I think a tour is long overdue Roddy. Dust the guitar down, get the band back together, have a few video conferences, practice, practice, practice, book some venues and when this lockdown is over blow our minds
totally agree. i loved that album and then they waited more than a year before releasing the very patchy 'knife'. after that twas all lovely stuff but nothing to touch high land
One of the greatest debuts albums of the 80s! And he just a teenager back then!

Stevie Wonder?
God, not heard this track in sooooo long. Aztec Camera/Roddy Frame seem unfairly underrated to me.

This is the sound of independent music. Still gives me the shivers all these years later!

High Land must be as close to a perfect debut album as ever recorded. There are no bad tracks.
I'm not sure there has ever been a bad track released by Aztec Camera.

My fave group of the 80's bar none!
Never miss a chance to see Roddy live. My own musings and advice to the world. The man is just wonderful.
日本でのライブで観れて良かった。

Thanks for the upload - great song
I couldn't agree more. This is one of the great ones, period...
Sounds as good now as it was nearly 40 years ago. Still think Roddy is an underappreciated genius.
Finally this great song is now on youtube , better be late than never.
Roddy Frame what a brillant artist, Really underrated !
