People love to laugh at Oscar nowadays, Dana White takes shots at him , but they truly don't understand how BIG of a deal and how good Oscar was, he was incredible in the ring an all time great! He was also the first boxer with a "pop Star" like following, the Ricky Martin of boxing. Now hearing all the stuff he went through is heartbreaking to hear, being that young and famous must be extremely overwhelming and scary, I'm delighted to see him alive and telling his story 🎉

Oscar was my favourite fighter ever growing up, kinda like my hero ...
I've ridden the roller-coaster of being a fan of Oscars.
After watching this interview, I'm even more of a fan.
This version of public honesty makes him even more genuine.
No one is a golden boy, but this is as close to providing a good example of what a golden boy is (being a thousand percent honest) .
Genuinely proud of you Oscar.
You're once again my hero.
Ariel is a HELL of journalist, his interviews, questions, his flow, his tempo is perfect! its the perfect balance. so easy to enjoy his shows . it doesn't feel forced . its a real treat man. Thank you Ariel for being nothing like the rest.
He’s also incredible at toe-ing the line between asking tough questions and offending the guest.
This was so good! Raw and uncut. He looks like he's in a good place. Great interview
In his prime he was the man, one of the greatest of all time
Growing up he was my favorite fighter. I was afraid of meeting him cause sometimes your heros arent what you think they are. Met him at the canelo vs Mayweather press conference. He signed my glove and even spoke for a bit. Great guy
I was such a fan boy all the way back here from Portugal. Boxing wasn't even covered here. I still am a fan. What a fighter!!!
Every legend deserves to tell the truth life is hard especially for less fortunate
For all his faults, Oscar comes across as genuine and kind.
Everybody got faults but how you come out of it is all that matters
@@lightsoutsal1050Wow so inspirational 😐
As very much not an Oscar fan it is impossible to not respect him in this interview. I grew up watching this dude and just wasn’t a fan because it all felt fake and media driven. Always respected the skill but didn’t respect the man. That changed today. Kudos to you champ and I hope you get all your flowers while you’re here
Generational trauma being passed down over and over. 😢 Happy healing Oscar.
Respect to Oscar for telling the truth. People who looks Down on him never faced any Challenge such as addiction. Dont listen to then Oscar. They are usually kids on tiktok or People who never faced any Challenge
Oscar is an American icon. Good for boxing and now good for humanity. God bless him.
Oscar carried boxing from the late 90s and mid 2000s. You're a champion Oscar. F the haters
Dana's going to love this lmao
😂😂😂😂
Dana literally cannot say anything since he abused his wife and takes steroids. No one in life is perfect my guy.
Respect cause Oscar was a monster back in the day.
Imagine if everyone on earth told the truth and forgave each other, and everyone agreed to start with a clean slate? Thats what heaven must be like. Forgiven and accepted
Like your sentiment. But wouldn't last more than a minute.
Just to consider it is worth something 🙂
The first step to being forgiven is accepting your mistakes and feelings remorseful and apologizing and guess what? Most people are not humble enough to accept they messed up…

Oscar's answer to Ariel's final question.. "are you sober now?" Was a bummer. I felt like it's someone saying "I don't have a problem, I can quit any time I want" like it was the fault of others. And .. well.. maybe that's the case and I've simply seen too many people fall, big and small. I hope the dude is happy and healthy for the rest of his life.

24:23 kinda wild he said his girlfriend of 2 years is going to be his legacy and not any of his 6 kids…
Those are things that drug users and ex drug users say because they get obsessed easily. That is why recovering drug addicts sometimes seem SUPER obsessed with religion or exercise or philosophy. For the moment, it is his girlfriend of two years.
@@Mr-E. that’s exactly right
The golden boy was my favorite fighter as a kid!!!
Wow, this is great for Oscar to unload his burdens and help others see, that everyone has their challenges in life. I did a similar thing in my last live show. It's good to reflect and unload.
That "are you sober now" question through him off. He didn't lie in his answer but if you know alcohol and drugs then those closest to him(his family) probably still feel concern about his drinking.
Great interview, can’t wait for the Documentary to drop.
Dana White opp #1 and #2.
He is lookin like my picture right now
awesome insight into a legend of boxing. I can't wait for the documentary
I haven't seen the documentary yet but for Oscar to own his mistakes openly, no excuses is HUGE. Good on him.
I could tell he's still hitting the bottle probably more than he should based on his physique so hopefully that doesnt set back his personal work. It must be hard being wealthy but it's just not worth the damage it does physically/ spiritually etc.
I can relate to what happened to Oscar with his mother. Because the same happened to me. And I am also a middle child. It's crazy.
U wear fishnets too?
Damn, this was such a eye opener man, I would have supported this guy if would have treated his fighters better like Ryan and all the others but nobody can take his greatness away
Ryan got 30 mill out of that fight .. hows that treating him bad..Ryan's team agreed to a ridiculous contract ..blame them
CRYan is always whining about something. He never takes accountability! He signed a contract…Period!
Back in 1998, I got his autograph and I patted him on the shoulder. I'll never forget his shoulder was solid like a rock.
You can still see how bitter he is about Eddie, “ let me do my job in the US and you stay in the U.K. “ - you can see he is a threat to his business and his ego is hurting big time….
Oscar is a great despite all the hate he gets and he never ducked anybody
I wish him the best, but without mental health therapy and him not being sober, I find it incredibly hard to get past those inner demons. I know from experience.
What a genuine man. We all have dirt in our past, except some don't admit it or do the work to repair harm. If only the people that bash him humbled themselves like he did.
You realized he just told a bold face lie in this interview that is easily refutable? He said his paternal grandpa ran with Pancho Villa, but his paternal grandpa was a young boxer in the 40s, and Pancho Villa died in 1923, so that is 100% a lie. He probably lied about a lot of stuff in this interview that we have no way of verifying if he was wiling to lie about something so stupid.
Man had a wrong and stupid opinion ,feel like i got to apologize .. I cant even imagine how difficult it is to go through these type of things being young and overwhelmed with people .. I never really thought about it. Respect 🙏

I bet Floyd mayweather is all jealous right now that Oscar is getting the attention and is prob going to come with own docu. Now 😂

Who cares about those photos now? The man has told the truth. That takes courage. Nothing but respect☝🏾
Great to see these interviews watching the side of his face
If you listen really closely all his truth telling and noble kick is still all about him. It's therapeutic for him - no matter what he puts out.
Agreed, just another way to feed the ego. My favorite quote is, "Humility, when you think you have it, you've lost it"
I don’t get the point of any of this…. Nobody really needs to know or hear any of this. It’s a money grab and a cry for attention.
Probably the most sane I’ve seen the guy in a while
Always a huge Oscar fan. Through good and bad
Bro in the 90s this man was out boxing anyone who stood in his way. Even the loss to Mayweather was controversial because of how good Oscar boxed. Retirement and the things he’s been through just had him spiral out of control but it looks like he’s finding himself again. Ill always have love for this man 🇺🇸🇲🇽

Generational trauma will only be understood by someone that has gone through it. It leaves a lasting mark and void that is carried into adulthood.I understand why Óscar having millions of dollars and fame still feels empty. May God bless you Óscar and help you heal and fill that void in a healthy way and away from drugs.
