Hello everyone.
There is a prejudice that laser welders are only used for welding thin sheets.
So, is laser welding for pressure testing impossible?
Today, I made a pressure vessel using only precision welding.
If a pressure vessel welded with only precision welding with a width of 2 to 3 mm passes the pressure test, it will likely be applicable to many places.
Also, at the end of the video, we added information about what results are obtained when electropolishing the laser welded part.
We will try other interesting tests in the future.

오늘은 정밀용접만으로 압력용기를 만들어 봤습니다.
2~3mm폭의 정밀용접 만으로 용접된 압력용기가 압력테스트를 통과한다면 많은 곳에 응용이 가능할것 같습니다.
그리고 영상 뒷부분에는 레이저용접된 부분을 전해연마하면 어떤 결과가 나오는지에 대한 내용도 추가하였습니다.
차후에는 또다른 흥미로운 테스트들도 시도해보도록 하겠습니다.

You do. Argon or nitrogen
Nice. But I am missing protecting the weld from oxidation. Normally it requires shielding gases.
It uses gas. You can use argon or nitrogen.

Spawy wyglądają pięknie po laserze ale migomatem z góry na dół prowadzenie spawu też wygląda pięknie ale większość to przyklejenia bez spojenia materiału. Czekam na opinie autora i może zrobi przekrój spoiny że złamaniem to była by dobra metoda na zweryfikowanie spoiny
po szlifowaniu jest pełno dziur w spoinie

I would like to see laser welding on auto parts off the table. I have a 1500 watt water cooled unit.
Isn’t air testing dangerous? There is competition model for welders for stick/tig/mig and i believe they test with water pressure for safety reasons. No idea how big pressure is though.
Very dangerous. The reason is that gases like air can compress storing considerable amounts of energy. If it were to fail I would basically turn into a frag grenade. This is why testing over 1-2barg (15-30psig) is done using hydrostatic pressure testing. Worth noting however, even hydrostatic pressure testing has its dangers. The device under test might not grenade, but if it does leak, the jet of water that is released can easily puncture skin and cause a high pressure injection injury, so you wouldn't want to get too close.
The gauge is reading about 6.8 bar which is just about exactly 100 psig.
@@JaenEngineering Water jet high pressure injection injury is bad yes, but hydraulic oil or fuel oil can kill. I heard of a guy painfully killed himself trying to purge air from his tractor after running out of diesel; by cracking loose injection pump lines going to fuel injectors, small diesel engine, but fuel pressure even on a non-common rail system can easily be over 10,000 psi while cranking. Went right thru a glove and into his hand. Leather work gloves are like a laser thru paper versus tiny high pressure liquid spray.
