No need to foam mod because the pro model has an engineered silicon mat. Your info about south facing LEDs letting more light through is false unless you have side lit keycaps. You almost can't see the lettering of standard ones.
I bought this thinking it would solve all my problems. I have the Q5, and after a few mods, I thought I could do the same to this keyboard. It ruined it. Even after I removed the tape and cleaned it, factory reset it, and took it to the local keyboard shop. Ruined. :(. It somehow lost the ability to connect to Bluetooth and kept switching off when I switched it to Mac mode from Windows. So now it's pretty much useless. Which is a shame. So I bought the Nuphy Halo 65. Maybe I was unlucky, but from my experience, I'm going to avoid Keychron unless it's like my Q5 and wired. Check out the Nuphy range. :)
Main difference is V2 needs mods, has gaterons and north facing LEDs and no VIA/QMK support. The pro is superior in build quality and design, keycap support aside but that will change in time

red has no feedback, it's linear
Does the aluminum frame affect the sound quality?
I've ordered the non aluminium variant. In this video he has the aluminium variant. I'll let you know if there's a big sound difference.
I just received it and I can tell you that much: The aluminium variant has a distinct metal sound which my board (the normal frame) doesn't have.

No.. because it comes with a perfectly pre-made silicon mat.
Just need side lit keycaps really is about all you can do to this thing. It's unreal.

V2 is sorta outdated somewhat and needs the mods the pro already has. The pro has much nicer switches too.
