I stopped watching him when his critics are out of the line. waleska herrera is the best reactor, she has musical background, she graduated in music and she knows what she is doing. i also like how they are learning the tagalog and the tagalog songs because they really love it, not bc they have filipino viewers. Her brother is awesome too!!! I love them.

Very perfectionist, if I could just hear him perform or sing live. I would definitely do a reaction analyzing his so called "pitched perfect vocal". Parang andaming insecurities nitong reactor na to. I am a language teacher and I study different types of criticisms. Criticisms should be based on references as well. most of the time, this reactor is stereotyping and seems like a misogynist.That's not a form of doing constructive criticism. He's mostly uttering destructive criticisms that might affect the dignities of these artists he's reacting with. He calls himself a musician but only focusing on superficial things. He didn't even analyze what is the song about. This man is self-centered and too subjected.

You can respect the idea that everybody is allowed to have an opinion but you have no obligation to respect the opinion itself becoz some opinions are just plain stupid and disrespecting. The fact that this guy really appears to think that he's the only one who's right in this situation and calling the fandom toxic just because they tried to educate him speaks a lot about his character. If SB19 is not his cup of tea and their music is not something that he could enjoy then why the hell is he still reacting to them? If it's not for the views then what else could it be?

I watch his videos/reactions everytime he posts videos about SB19 or the Philippines and I'm also a subscriber. I'm a bit disappointed and those videos makes me feel sad. Ofcourse, the fans of SB19 or A'tin also felt the same so they also share/gave their opinions about it because they also just wanted to protect the boys, everyone has their own opinions but the way he expressed them on those videos just makes me feel so sad/disappointed as his subscriber and as a fan of SB19 or as A'tin.

I'd prefer to watch Waleska Herrera and Efra because they are citizens of the world, and singers of the world. In an interview with Waleska, her goal was she wanted to sing with the world, and learn how other countries and cultures sing. Hence, they feature a mix of cultures from South Africa, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, and I'm happy they reached the Philippines!

I'm a filipino and been living in the US for 2 decades now..but I listened to kpop and Japanese music. I don't judge anyone by their looks...i unsubscribe to this clown awhile ago..great video chuck
Oh gosh! Where to start. I used to watch his videos before but I stopped way before I knew SB19 because I had seen some of his reactions way out of line. To each his own but he needed to do his research on some things before reacting. Here are some of my takes on the clipped that was shown:
* Sarah has different interpretation of the song. And everyone who covered songs should put their own flavor to be distinct to the original.
* 4th Impact came to a competition to be recognized & improved as an artist. That’s why this kind of competitions has mentors & coaches. And I had seen 4th Impact’s progression as the competition continued on.
* Les Miserables, Leah playing as Eponine. That was the Anniversary. All artists were constricted because the mic is not on them but stationed in one place. So, all the performers had to use what they have in acting by standing still. FYI, vocal couches & stage critic had high praises to Leah’s performance here. I think I’ll listen to them more in regards to this matter.
* Now, criticism about SB19’s make up, what he doesn’t understand is an artistic decision. Anyway, I was once critical of K-Pop’s wearing make up & all but I have overlooked all that when I heard P-pop for the first time through SB19. My first introduction of SB19 was MAPA. I had cried my balls out. Right there, you know the music was great when it impacted you. I went through RUclips knowing more about them & their music. As well as being an A’tin.
I’m sorry that this is way too long. My advice to Ovela (forgot whatever his name is) is he need to scratch the surface to see the intention of the song, do his research & I understand he has certain particular genre. Because it’s not his cup of tea doesn’t give him the platform to criticize it.
A’tin aren’t toxic. They are protective of SB19 because we know SB19’s struggle & what they went through. SB19’s beating all the odds when everything was & still against them.

I was never a fan of people who try their hardest to almost nit pick at anything like Ovela, I feel life can be to short to just claw so hard, to reach so hard to find problems or mistakes, you can call me corny but honestly I can live with that happily. Don’t understand why anyone who claims they could not relate to a certain genre would continue to dissect a performance of PPop which is not their preferred music anyway, only to nit-pick and make snide remarks. I think his benchmark are birit queens, Regine to be specific, although there is no doubt that Regine is the ultimate OPM Queen and icon , but I’m really suprised on how he critiqued a seasoned theater actress like Lea, imagine a mediocre music reactor saying things like that to an Olivier and Tony award winning actress. Now he’s throwing garbage to a multi-awarded and billboard-topping artists like SB19.
Meh, this is just one person's opinion. We know, trust and love our amazing Mahalima . We are many, A'tin is solid. Best way is to not give views to this kind of negativity and I'm sure SB19 will appreciate this more than anything else. Yeah, he actually got me when they reacted to Lea Salonga. It solidified my idea of them not knowing what they're really talking about. That song Lea sang is one of the best... Real vocal coaches were in awe of her performance actually. Sorry, but they sound jealous to me. He can give constructive criticism without underestimating/disrespecting the artistry of the artist. He basically said those opinions because he wanted them to sound/look like what he wanted which is a total disrespect and when he got called out, he'd call it "toxic". And he has a habit of comparing the artist to a different artist. Mad with this guy too

I was very fond of this reactor before because he said a lot of nice things to filipino artist..even to those hmm in my opinion are not that good..you asked if theres a pattern..yes. he would say bad things to certain artists then when he gets bashed he’ll change his tune in his next videos about that same artist..but what really ticked me off was his opinion with SB19..it was quiet obvious he’s not into their kind of music. I am a Registered Nurse, a mother of 4 teenagers, in my late 40s, and I LOVE SB19! I used to subscribe to OVELA when he clearly used Filipino artists for views, but when he started giving negative reactions to SB19, I subscribed just like RiverseReacts.

All I can say is, if you look at MGN's RVs, about 95% of his videos are Filipino-driven content. What does it tell you about someone who claims to be about "MUSIC GAME NEWS"? To have such content centered to a specific cultural demographic without actually understanding the culture does not make sense. So what's the conclusion? FILIPINO BAITING. All for the views.
There's a fine line between being opinionated and disrespectful. Clearly, he does not know the line in between. Anyone can be opinionated without a hint of mockery. All of us have our own preferences but it does not mean that what we prefer is superior to the next person. We can be vocal about our thoughts but it does not mean it's also a free pass to humiliate.
I have watched a lot of RVs varying from KPOP, JPOP, OPM, and etc but I have never seen anyone mock artists as badly as Ovela did tbh. Tells you a lot about a person. This is why I stopped watching him years ago. Quite frankly, if you're a reaction channel that aims to delve into different contents outside your norm, one should be cultured and open-minded. Take Waleska and Efra for example. Those kids have a wide range of knowledge when it comes to varying forms of music. They understand the difference between theatrical prowess and pop culture extravagance.

There's limitations to being "kind". Not every A'tin can tolerate such disrespect. If u can take it then good for you but don't expect everyone else could do the same. There's nothing wrong in fighting back when you know what you are fighting for is right.

I don't understand his reaction to WHAT? MV. He talked about the makeup too much, I didn't even cared about that when I watched the MV first time. And like him, I also don't wear make-up and not used to kpop. All I was noticing on that MV was SB19's talents, vocals and aggressiveness. And instantly became a fan, March 2021.

And seeing your vid compilation of how he reacts to other Filo artists like Leah and Sarah G? Wow! It just proves how ignorant and uneducated he is about music. He clearly don't do research and doesn't know the borderline between a constructive criticism and an insult or mockery. Some of his comments are yeah below the belt indeed. I used to like Ovela as a reactor but I was disappointed when his reactions now are mostly negative not criticism. There's a difference between consctructive criticism and plain insult and it's obvious that he repeatedly insulted these artists based on his preference. I was disgusted when they insulted 4th impact like that. Obviously he is not diverse in music even though his channel is all about music and stuff. All those toxic masculinity about SB19 was the end of the line for me. I unsubscribed to his channel last year. I regret even watching his reactions. Waste of my time.

Years ago he used to have the “Music Producer reacts to..” on his vid titles, i guess he dropped it because there were people asking for the music that has produced- Now looking back, maybe 🤔 he wasn’t successful in that field because he only box his idea to what he knows and try to dismiss other artist trying to break the norms. He said it many times that pop in general is not his thing but keeps on reacting then criticize the genre and even insulting the artist natural facial features and call it constructive, Like whats constructive about that? And for someone who make a living for “criticizing others works”, he should also be able to take it. Everyone has their own opinion of course. But kinda like what you said at the end, a lot of his comment were very judgemental and disrespectful.
There is a huge difference between someone who actually analyzes the music and the main point of the reaction in order to give professional critics vs someone like him who doesn’t focus on the music/main point and goes on stating offensive remarks that are sometimes not even in relation to the video. ( like his reaction for What? where he talks about make up and women)

The first time I saw Ovela reaction, he already rubs me the wrong way. If he doesn’t really want to receive any negative comments from his reactions then he should stop reacting to songs, artists and genre of music that he doesn’t like cuz he’s going to be biased regardless. He obviously doing it still for the views so just unsub and not bother with his channel anymore. And To think his channel caters for the Philippine RUclips market with a lot of Filipino subscribers. There is a difference between expressing an opinion and insulting an artist, much more so when the artist's physical appearance is at play. Is he justified in insulting an artist based on his "taste"? He is not a music expert and possesses no musical credentials or accomplishments to do this.

Good day Cashual Chuck. Yes I remembered this YT reactor, I was once a subscriber of their channel before because they were into opm, and Philippine culture before [I'm not sure about now]. At first, I thought he was kind of cool, because he was just voicing out his opinion, but the problem was he was not giving his opinion as a certified sound engineer, he was trying to 'judge' the appearance [and not the quality of the sound] of those presented to him not knowing that these people will eventually would become more famous than him. I wrote a comment in their channel telling them that they were kind of fast on making quick judgements, and not giving a second thought [or a second opinion, or to provide examples to prove their point] but they were kind of unison in their judgements, sadly they blocked my comments. And I'm not surprised on what happened to him now, perhaps he wants more 'traffic' in his channel [IDK].

Honestly, I encountered SB19 with his What MV Reaction. Regardless of what he had said during that video, I liked the What MV and the music. I was not into Pop or groups. My usual music genre leans towards rock. But that reaction video started my SB19 journey and became a fan since then. Though I admit, I stopped watching his reaction about SB19 as he is not into boy groups in general. The guy is very opinionated and a bit tactless ("a little condescending" in Chuck's words). Clearly that he is not a fan and I know he might just say something that would trigger me. I hope we stop sending him requests to react to SB19 contents. We cannot filter what others would say, we can instead choose what we listen to.😉Thanks for taking time to research on this Chuck, I hope A'TIN would just focus on the positive. #MAHALIMA HSH 💙

I was one of the previous subscriber of that channel. I unsubbed because of one vide where the owner and a guest reactor (I forgot the other person's name) was so bias against the artist that they were reacting that it wasn't event constructive criticism anymore. When the channel reacted to SB19, I gave it a chance, maybe the owner had a change of heart -- but I was disappointed, to say the least.
"Choose to be kind" is the best thing we can do. Unsub to the channel, don't view it's contents, block it if possible so the temptation isn't there. We don't need the toxicity in the fandom and let's just support SB19 as much as we can. :)

Aside from SB19 , I have Also watched other reactions from him about other PPOP Group’s first debut Music Video , He did not even bother to listen to the musicality , lyrics and did not try to understand the story line of the MV but instead keep on commenting that the Music Video is depressing ( since there was a story line about social issues Like , bullying/identity Crisis / crying etc In the Music video ) . Also , after a few months , He reacted again to the same PPOP group’s New Performance Video of this summer station ID song ..the first few seconds of watching the Performance Video , His comments was Like “ He is expecting other Popular Singers to be in the station ID performance video Instead of this PPOP group ..( maybe he used to be watching Station ID years before with many well known singers in it , but still he has no right to disrespect artists that does not suits his taste especially that he is a reactor with many followers .

I watched the Bazinga reaction (not the whole tho, lol) and I laughed so hard at what he said on Pablo's ENGLISH rap verse AHAHAHAHAHA sori not sorry. I subscribed to him a long time ago but I did not share the same views as him and I didn’t like his personality so I unsubscribed to him. I choose who to subscribe to even though it is free, I still have the right to choose.
I am interested in watching this reaction video even more. You know as a fan of SB19 myself I am really triggered to people whose reaction and what they say to SB19 not just to SB19 but also to other fiipino artist are all about comparing and calling them a "copy" and if I hear it correctly he called him kpop. But you know what "Always choose to be kind" as what Pinuno say. Maybe he just doesnt suit these kind of taste or this kind of music.
