I would love more than anything for this game to be good, but based on Ubisoft's history and what I've seen of it, I think it'll be a solid 6/10 at best. The fact that the gameplay looked so bad when you know they cherry pick what they think was the best from everything they recorded, you have to be worried, or there's something seriously wrong with you. That being said, I think I'll enjoy the game later after it's been patched and polished and is a third of the price.
I simply have ZERO faith in Ubisoft actually making a game worth $70. The studio is the epitome of working juuuust hard enough to get a paycheck and then stopping. Watch Dogs: Legion: decent but not worth the money. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: decent but not worth the money. Every recent AC game: decent but not worth the money. Anything with the Ubisoft logo on it will be a mediocre experience. They have shown they do not intend to do anything more.
i can appreciate that, that said, I havnt really played an AC game since Black Flag lol and havnt touched Avatar or Watch Dogs. I don't think it's going to be amazing, but it will be likley decent, maybe a bit above if they have learned anything, but totally fair to be skeptical of them.
Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown ? They were considered good games. As they say, sometimes may be shit, sometimes may be good... And the games were on discount quite fast so if you're not willing to pay $70 for it, you'll get it at a fair price (for you) eventually. Which makes those games pretty good entertainment/price ratio imo.

personally i think AC mirage is the best ac game weve had since origins, so i feel like theyre moving in the right direction for that franchise but everything else by ubi has been pretty shit lol
Fair feedback on games "ownership"/price, which Ubisoft have been jerks about. I will likely get Ubisoft + for a month to play it. Terrible AI is possible from the short clips that people pulled from hours of gameplay that is out there (Most of it indicates the AI is fine, but there are some clips), hoping they fix that prior to the game launching. I can find clips of bugs and bad AI in RDR2, does it mean it's bad or has bad AI?

On the whole Star Wars outlaws thing I think it’s just people don’t have any faith that Ubisoft is going to deliver a good game and the whole assassins Creed thing I mean, it was a pretty disrespectful thing to do from a Japanese standpoint and the fact they seem to be halfassing the entire game Even to the concept art which looks like they just took a bunch of art from online and just kind of put it in their concept art and just been stealing a bunch of shit from other cultures or Japanese media like Zorro sword from one piece, But on the influencer side, it just seemed unnecessary for Ubisoft to pay for a trip to Disneyland and even though it’s not said or it’s not obvious and it’s only a preview it’s clear that they were at least trying to influence their opinions in someway, even if they didn’t think it was gonna be 100% guaranteed paying for a ticket. I understand because the influencers have to get there somehow it was like the same thing when they gave out all those canvas bags to influencers, but then couldn’t deliver day one on the canvas bag in the pre-order I also think it also hurts the influencer because now people are going to presume that your opinion is bought, and there are some people out there who only become influencers to get free shit.
I beta tested Firefall and played the released game on Steam. I had a great deal of fun even though the game didn't deliver everything promised in the promo video.

I don't think most people want it to fail. SOME people certainly want it to fail. Zero doubt about it. But lets not pretend the haters don't have good reasons for the hate. From the treatment of women in their workplace, to the overmonitization of games, to comments like "we want players to feel comfortable not owning their games" Yes, they really said that. I hope Outlaws is fantastic. I'm not exactly excited based on what I have seen. (Seriously, that explosion in the gameplay was one of the worst I've seen in years in a AAA video game) But I hope its good. I'm not going to cheer for its failure or create 10 videos saying it's a garbage game before it's actually out either. If the game sucks, but there are fans of it? Great. Have at it. I think that people want it to succeed, because they really want a good SW game once again. The thing is that they don't trust Ubi to deliver. Someone wrote that Ubi makes a mid games and I have to agree with it. It always feels like there is huge potencial and then they always stop. One more thing is that you can see animations that are extremely simillar to their old titles and they don't look better. They should look better over the years. For example when you see the girl sneak behind the guy and he like a magnet shows up in her arms.You can see this in AC: Origins. The game that is several years old. I have to note that I am speaking about their big 3D titles. Prince of Persia was surprisingly great.

It might sound strange, but if you play these games year after year and see the same old animations, the same glitches and the same npc behaviour then you will feel burned out.

I love stars wars and I pre ordered I know it won't be 10 out of 10 2 things I do not like about it that they showed already she drops secondary weapon is so dumb blaster pistol main weapon cool but atleast let us carry secondary until depleted even if it can't be reload but don't drop it because you get on speeder or pick a lock and 2 she knocks out storm troopers in one hit with helmet with bare hands atleast have a melee weapon I will still enjoy it nonetheless

I'm not particularly keen on Star Wars but I like a good SciFi game. Stellar Blade is great and good clean fun. I lost interest in Forbidden West because they had uglified Aloy. Yet in comparison with Kay she is still a stunner. As long a Korea and China release games with cool leads I guess I don't mind if Star Wars Outlaws sells millions, but I think life is far too short to play video games with ugly protagonists.
I disagree. Profits guide big corporations right? So if the game or really games of a certain corporation (who owns IP you like) does poorly, it may encourage them to go a direction you like more. I miss the old style of ubisoft games... so hoping it fails financially so they course correct back to a product I enjoy

You left out a few important things, I trust completely randomly. ;) 1. The requirements of this game are a joke. The graphics are at the PS3 level, with moments worthy of PS4. And the requirements state that UPSCALER must be active. In the hardware requirements I am interested in how well (or badly) the game is optimized, not how external programs make the game work satisfactorily thanks to various tricks (including the help of AI). Apparently, the game does not work well at all without an upscaler. 2. They chose a very pretty woman as the model for the main character. And what did they do with her? I am not saying that she is a disgusting monster that you cannot even look at... but.. come on. Kay doesn't t have to be some beautiful doll, but they chose a female model, with very nice, feminine features, who doesn't resemble her at all in the game... She is closer to Harrison Ford than to the original model. And I ask WHY? 3. The gameplay looks unfinished, the shooting combat is tragic, and the "disarming"(?) troopers during sneaking is funny, but also pathetic. They clearly spent more time making Kay's jaw look more masculine than on proper animations, of which there are apparently going to be a lot in the game. Have you seen Kay do a roll? In Dark Souls, our character would have to eat an entire dragon to do such a fatroll with the same "grace" as ma'am Solo. 4. This is another open-world game from Ubisoft. What innovative things should I expect from the 20th clone of their gameplay design? For years, developers and publishers have been doing whatever they want, without much regard for the gamers' opinions. In order for them to understand that we do not agree with various practices that are becoming more and more common in the gaming world, we have to vote with our wallets. Only this can make them think that they are not sacred cows, maybe they are not allowed to do everything they like and that their actions have consequences. We, gamers, are reminded at every turn that we are not allowed much because of this or that. And recently, Ubisoft is trying to convince us that we should feel comfortable paying for a game that is not ours. Well, Gamers don't need DEI, paywalls, cut-off gameplay, sold later as and DLC, boring and repetitive games only with a different logo. We don't need publishers to tell us that this is what we want. this game was so frustratingly average that is made me buy Metal gear solid V on PC to actually experience a good stealth shooter... but to each their own. Enjoy it if you really like it.

If you like the idea of melee stealth, then Ghosts of tsushima and older assasins creed games like AC 1-3 are a must. Metal gear solid 1 -3 are the best and 5 is the most modern but still good.

I watched the shitty AI during the firefights in the gameplay. Those are the reasons I have issues with the game and want it to fail. I don't want the game to fail would love a decent smuggler game in fact the idea of the game is amazing. However there are too many broken or unfinished games being released this is totally unacceptable. also the videos that everyone has seen are totally at odds to what is on screen to what the people who have previewed the game. i stopped buying games at launch as the games companies dont want to finish games anymore i wait for about a year so the game becomes a reasonable price and is actually finished (i really liked the far cry series)
In this case it doesn't at all. It worked for Hogwarts because there was actual hype around it. There is little to no hype for this game on a majority scale. It's more Ubisoft slop that barely meets the criteria of a functional game but brings nothing new or interesting. It looks like watch dogs with a star wars skinsuit while simultaneously bringing nothing to the table that even Watch dogs brought. They can't even stay consistent to the standards they implemented in previous games beyond the monotonous "combat" and "stealth" and oh boy does that AI look so dumb. Jedi Survivor and Fallen Order however are valid examples of what a fresh modern take of the star wars franchise looks like. Don't give them your $100 only to be disappointed with bugs out the ass and a subpar story that you'll forget about after a few days

I want to like the game. Open-world Star Wars with RPG elements sounds like something I would be into. Unfortunately between the previous Ubisoft games I've played, price tags I've seen and the Ubisoft CEO's statement on ownership, I regret that it's them doing it. I do also think it's annoying how people harp on the protagonist just because it's a woman they're not attracted to. My complaint about that is there's an opportunity to make a character creator with Star Wars' species but instead it's a boring preset human. Then again I've had an itch for another Bethesda-style RPG and Starfield was underwhelming.
Ratings don't matter anymore. On a scale of 1-10, 5 should be average, and roughly half of all games should be below 5, and half should be over 5, with 9's and 10's being reserved for the very best games possible. For many years, I've watched poor to mid games being given 7s and 8s. The numbers don't mean anything anymore, and aggregating 1000 liars, paid shills, and politically motivated reviewers in no way gives any sense of a game's actual quality.

@@McdizzleGaming I absolutely enjoy a fair amount of media that I'd give a low score to. I'd say there's a difference between enjoyment and quality. Enjoyment is personal, quality is factual. My favorite shirt is a cheap t shirt with a funny image and phrase on it. I own much higher quality shirts, but they don't put the same smile on my face when someone laughs at my silly t shirt. That being said, do I have a perfect scoring system in mind? Nope. I'm not convinced that a numbered scoring system makes sense for gaming. Why does a game need a number? I've seen some reviews that break down individual components of a game, i.e. sounds design, graphics, gameplay etc, but that still doesn't make sense to me. How can you compare something as ephemeral as "gameplay" between say, "Tetris" and "Just Cause 3"? There's no meaningful way to compare the two. You may as well say that pizza is better than flute music. Generally if I'm convinced to play a game, it's through sustained word of mouth. If several years have passed and people still won't shut up about how good something is, it has stood the test of time. Of course waiting several years to enjoy something is great for my choices and wallet, but it's not what companies want. As it stands now, all I can do is watch and read reviews from many sources I've grown to know over years, and can make assumptions based on how often I've agreed or disagreed with those known reviewers, but again, spending years building a mental view like that isn't an ideal way to go about it, and it's a luxury I only have because I'm old. I'm afraid I don't have a grand solution, but I know that when I see a game score around 70/100, and get shut down months later as a total failure, something is wrong with telling me it's 20% better than the average game. I can rate my shirt 9/10, but if you look at the materials, stitching, and so on, and then compare it to actual high quality clothing that I've rated at 6/10, you would be right to question me on my methodology and thought process, and perhaps even to assume I have some personal reasons that have nothing to do with the actual quality, and therefore no longer trust me to tell you if clothing is high or low quality.

I have mixed feelings. I would like this game to succeed because I enjoy Star Wars games and over the years, I have enjoyed Ubisoft titles like Tom Clancy's G.R.A.W, Far Cry series, all Assassin's Creed (except Valhalla), and Watch Dogs. I don't ever buy them day one because I don't think the games merit the price and I wait for the inevitable sale because Ubisoft games drop in price 3-4 weeks after release. For me, this game isn't appealing to me so I don't buy it and based on all of the "Openworld" games Ubisoft have made after Black Flag, it's a boring empty world that can't keep the player play the game. On the whole Star Wars outlaws thing I think it’s just people don’t have any faith that Ubisoft is going to deliver a good game and the whole assassins Creed thing I mean, it was a pretty disrespectful thing to do from a Japanese standpoint and the fact they seem to be halfassing the entire game Even to the concept art which looks like they just took a bunch of art from online and just kind of put it in their concept art and just been stealing a bunch of shit from other cultures or Japanese media like Zorro sword from one piece, But on the influencer side, it just seemed unnecessary for Ubisoft to pay for a trip to Disneyland and even though it’s not said or it’s not obvious and it’s only a preview it’s clear that they were at least trying to influence their opinions in someway, even if they didn’t think it was gonna be 100% guaranteed paying for a ticket. I understand because the influencers have to get there somehow it was like the same thing when they gave out all those canvas bags to influencers, but then couldn’t deliver day one on the canvas bag in the pre-order I also think it also hurts the influencer because now people are going to presume that your opinion is bought, and there are some people out there who only become influencers to get free shit.

I beta tested Firefall and played the released game on Steam. I had a great deal of fun even though the game didn't deliver everything promised in the promo video.

I hope Outlaws is fantastic. I'm not exactly excited based on what I have seen. (Seriously, that explosion in the gameplay was one of the worst I've seen in years in a AAA video game) But I hope its good. I think that people want it to succeed, because they really want a good SW game once again. The thing is that they don't trust Ubi to deliver. Someone wrote that Ubi makes a mid games and I have to agree with it. It always feels like there is huge potencial and then they always stop. One more thing is that you can see animations that are extremely simillar to their old titles and they don't look better. They should look better over the years. For example when you see the girl sneak behind the guy and he like a magnet shows up in her arms.You can see this in AC: Origins. The game that is several years old. I have to note that I am speaking about their big 3D titles. Prince of Persia was surprisingly great.

I'm not particularly keen on Star Wars but I like a good SciFi game. Stellar Blade is great and good clean fun. I lost interest in Forbidden West because they had uglified Aloy. Yet in comparison with Kay she is still a stunner. As long a Korea and China release games with cool leads I guess I don't mind if Star Wars Outlaws sells millions, but I think life is far too short to play video games with ugly protagonists.

Of course Ubisoft knows that the invitees are primarily gamers and not reviewers/journalists/content creators. They just wanted them to play their new game out of the goodness of their hearts. Anyway... You left out a few important things, I trust completely randomly. ;)
1. The requirements of this game are a joke. The graphics are at the PS3 level, with moments worthy of PS4. And the requirements state that UPSCALER must be active. In the hardware requirements I am interested in how well (or badly) the game is optimized, not how external programs make the game work satisfactorily thanks to various tricks (including the help of AI). Apparently, the game does not work well at all without an upscaler.
2. They chose a very pretty woman as the model for the main character. And what did they do with her? I am not saying that she is a disgusting monster that you cannot even look at... but.. come on. Kay doesn't t have to be some beautiful doll, but they chose a female model, with very nice, feminine features, who doesn't resemble her at all in the game... She is closer to Harrison Ford than to the original model. And I ask WHY?
3. The gameplay looks unfinished, the shooting combat is tragic, and the "disarming"(?) troopers during sneaking is funny, but also pathetic. They clearly spent more time making Kay's jaw look more masculine than on proper animations, of which there are apparently going to be a lot in the game.
Have you seen Kay do a roll? In Dark Souls, our character would have to eat an entire dragon to do such a fatroll with the same "grace" as ma'am Solo.
4. This is another open-world game from Ubisoft. What innovative things should I expect from the 20th clone of their gameplay design?
For years, developers and publishers have been doing whatever they want, without much regard for the gamers' opinions. In order for them to understand that we do not agree with various practices that are becoming more and more common in the gaming world, we have to vote with our wallets. Only this can make them think that they are not sacred cows, maybe they are not allowed to do everything they like and that their actions have consequences. We, gamers, are reminded at every turn that we are not allowed much because of this or that. And recently, Ubisoft is trying to convince us that we should feel comfortable paying for a game that is not ours.
Well, Gamers don't need DEI, paywalls, cut-off gameplay, sold later as and DLC, boring and repetitive games only with a different logo. We don't need publishers to tell us that this is what we want. We crave interesting games, nicely designed worlds, well-thought-out and refined mechanics, and break from reality.
And, referring to your title, this is the real reason.

this game was so frustratingly average that is made me buy Metal gear solid V on PC to actually experience a good stealth shooter... but to each their own. Enjoy it if you really like it.

If you like the idea of melee stealth, then Ghosts of tsushima and older assasins creed games like AC 1-3 are a must.

Wierd how it's assumed that there is one big mastermind behind the hate for some of these games. I saw them ugly up the model of the game. I watched the gameplay. I watched the shitty AI during the firefights in the gameplay. Those are the reasons I have issues with the game and want it to fail. When that much money is spent to make a game in the Star Wars universe more should be expected out of them. Why is it a problem having an anti campaign? We didn't say it couldn't exist. In this case it doesn't at all. It worked for Hogwarts because there was actual hype around it. There is little to no hype for this game on a majority scale. It's more Ubisoft slop that barely meets the criteria of a functional game but brings nothing new or interesting. It looks like watch dogs with a star wars skinsuit while simultaneously bringing nothing to the table that even Watch dogs brought. They can't even stay consistent to the standards they implemented in previous games beyond the monotonous "combat" and "stealth" and oh boy does that AI look so dumb. Jedi Survivor and Fallen Order however are valid examples of what a fresh modern take of the star wars franchise looks like. Don't give them your $100 only to be disappointed with bugs out the ass and a subpar story that you'll forget about after a few days

I want to like the game. Open-world Star Wars with RPG elements sounds like something I would be into. Unfortunately between the previous Ubisoft games I've played, price tags I've seen and the Ubisoft CEO's statement on ownership, I regret that it's them doing it.
I do also think it's annoying how people harp on the protagonist just because it's a woman they're not attracted to. My complaint about that is there's an opportunity to make a character creator with Star Wars' species but instead it's a boring preset human. Then again I've had an itch for another Bethesda-style RPG and Starfield was underwhelming.
Ratings don't matter anymore. On a scale of 1-10, 5 should be average, and roughly half of all games should be below 5, and half should be over 5, with 9's and 10's being reserved for the very best games possible. For many years, I've watched poor to mid games being given 7s and 8s. The numbers don't mean anything anymore, and aggregating 1000 liars, paid shills, and politically motivated reviewers in no way gives any sense of a game's actual quality.

@@McdizzleGaming I absolutely enjoy a fair amount of media that I'd give a low score to. I'd say there's a difference between enjoyment and quality. Enjoyment is personal, quality is factual. My favorite shirt is a cheap t shirt with a funny image and phrase on it. I own much higher quality shirts, but they don't put the same smile on my face when someone laughs at my silly t shirt.
That being said, do I have a perfect scoring system in mind? Nope. I'm not convinced that a numbered scoring system makes sense for gaming. Why does a game need a number? I've seen some reviews that break down individual components of a game, i.e. sounds design, graphics, gameplay etc, but that still doesn't make sense to me. How can you compare something as ephemeral as "gameplay" between say, "Tetris" and "Just Cause 3"? There's no meaningful way to compare the two. You may as well say that pizza is better than flute music.
Generally if I'm convinced to play a game, it's through sustained word of mouth. If several years have passed and people still won't shut up about how good something is, it has stood the test of time. Of course waiting several years to enjoy something is great for my choices and wallet, but it's not what companies want.
As it stands now, all I can do is watch and read reviews from many sources I've grown to know over years, and can make assumptions based on how often I've agreed or disagreed with those known reviewers, but again, spending years building a mental view like that isn't an ideal way to go about it, and it's a luxury I only have because I'm old.
I'm afraid I don't have a grand solution, but I know that when I see a game score around 70/100, and get shut down months later as a total failure, something is wrong with telling me it's 20% better than the average game.
I can rate my shirt 9/10, but if you look at the materials, stitching, and so on, and then compare it to actual high quality clothing that I've rated at 6/10, you would be right to question me on my methodology and thought process, and perhaps even to assume I have some personal reasons that have nothing to do with the actual quality, and therefore no longer trust me to tell you if clothing is high or low quality.

I have mixed feelings. I would like this game to succeed because I enjoy Star Wars games and over the years, I have enjoyed Ubisoft titles like Tom Clancy's G.R.A.W, Far Cry series, all Assassin's Creed (except Valhalla), and Watch Dogs. I don't ever buy them day one because I don't think the games merit the price and I wait for the inevitable sale because Ubisoft games drop in price 3-4 weeks after release. (Referring to disc versions).
