Since Caliray is hitting the “SoCal vibe” (ew) so hard in their branding, my hypothesis is they use “THE” in their shade names because that’s how people in Southern California refer to different freeways (i.e. the 5, the 405). As a Laguna Beach native, I was slightly embarrassed at how charming I found that. Sue me.

I didn’t listen to TS for a long time but sure, I could appreciate her songwriting from afar. After Evermore and Folklore, I was hooked and have since done a deep dive into her older stuff. I also love that she’s re-recording her older stuff and yes, Midnights has a hold on me right now. So I totally endorse you listening to her stuff when you get a chance!
I think the reason the Caliray shades have “the” in front of them is because it’s a pun on the freeway speak in LA (I took the 2 to the 5 to the 10- which IS an actual route that I used to drive daily)
Unfortunately it doesn’t totally work because not all of the shades have matching freeways, unlike the Tower 28 skin tints which are all named after legit Los Angeles area streets.
We TOTALLY want to just, "turn it on and just vibe"! So appreciate the energy.

Someone mentioned that sulfates in my toothpaste might be exacerbating my perioral dermatitis. I didn’t think it would help because I don’t get toothpaste all over my face but I switched and it got a lot better overnight. 😊

I recommend Clean Skin Club Bamboo Clean Towels. I won’t use anything else on my face. My daughter’s severe acne has cleared to a shocking degree. Towels are truly nasty things. These bamboo cloths are so gentle and soothing and they can be used wet or dry, with or without cleansers. I’m not affiliated with the company in any way. I found them on Amazon and I’m sharing because you mentioned having problems from towels and that’s happened to me. 😊

Hi, Kackie. I like you am a sufferer of perioral dermatitis. Mine can be triggered by a variety of things but something that really helped me is not using products with fluoride. I switched to the Tom's Fluoride Free toothpaste and it did wonders for me. I was also prescribed clindamycin gel as a topical and I swear it is magic! I hope this helps you in some way, thanks for be open and honest about skin things because it is definitely a self conscious point for myself and many others. Keep being your wacky and wonderful self!

I am so intrigued by Athr, but the pan shape & dispersion drives me nuts.
I depot all my fave athr shades in a salt New York palette. It’s not a very realistic solution. In all honesty, I don’t find the shadows particularly long wearing and they get more powdery with age. But awesome quality in clean realm. Hope that helps?! Also I dislike that they are always discontinuing every product they make!!

I feel like that blush shade or very similar to it is in a lot of cream formulas high end and drugstore. It reminds me a lot of Milani's Merlot Moment and Honest Beauty Plum Berry.

i did my makeup today with you (watching your video while beating my face😂) & i had never tried blush on my forehead before but when i do my makeup i felt like my forehead was left out & it seemed kind of bland with just the bronzer & a little highlight but putting blush up there 🤯 never have i ever felt so complete. thank you for that lil inspo ❤❤

Oh lord, it's gonna be a multiple comments type video. The light-colored eye primer is helpful for me because it helps the true color show that would otherwise not pop as much due to having to compete with my skin color.

I use Avene Cicalfate+ cream on my POD. I apply it and allow it to absorb before applying my base products. It's healing and acts as a buffer. I also use their thermal water instead of hydrating/setting sprays. POD hates cosmetics. :P

I started using paper towels to (gently) pat my face dry instead of bath towels and my face does not break out anymore. Ever. Moreover, when I ran out of paper towels and used a bath towel, I had breakouts the next day. Paper towels are sterile, so, maybe that’s why? I’m just putting the info out there in case it’s helpful to the community.
My derm has me use a micellar if I'm going to cleanse my face multiple times in a day due my frequent topical thrush on my cheeks and chin. Please keep us updated on your findings. I'm always trying to not flare this mess up.

anyone know how to tell once PD has run its course? I have rosacea and extremely dry skin (looks OK until I apply foundation and then see scaliness) around mouth. Trying to figure out if the dryness is PD or would it eventually pass then?

I didn't love the vision flush's packaging cuz I couldn't get every last drop out, I had Tiara. I'd recommend a color fix you'd get a lot of use out of instead. I loooove Milky Way and the clear glaze 🤗
I have a question. I find that when I use Hanky Panky on my cheeks, it pulls a little more terracotta/red, but when I put it on my eyes, it looks full on berry. why would it look different on my cheeks than on my eyes? and why does it pull more pink/berry on your cheeks (I know you've said everything pulls pink on you because of your undertone but I'm not sure exactly what about your undertones makes colors pull more pink on you) and more orange on mine?

i hate that most eye primers are not different skin tones i end up using matte liquid shadows in a brown shade
If you ever need something a little less “drying” like liquid lipstick, my girlfriend uses either Nars pot concealer in just a hair lighter than her skin OR the MAC paint pots. You could probably also use their studio finish concealer, but she prefers the paint pots. She wears Cacao in the Nars for color reference. Plus just the tiniest amount gives a good blank base for her vibrant looks. I hope this helps with more options. Also, love the pink hair in your picture!!

I adore Taylor Swift! I truly believe she has something for everyone. If you want more of an indie folk vibe “folklore” and “evermore” are definitely the place to start, I’d also give her newest album a chance since it’s an amalgamation of the style of all her previous work, which she’s described as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout her life“.
As much as she loves switching genres and developing full concepts for her “eras” the constant in her music is the outstanding song writing skills.

Not as predominant in Northern California. I’ve only heard people in Northern California say “I5” or just “5” when referring to Interstate 5 for example, even in the Bay Area. It seems to be more LA/San Fernando Valley/etc phrase. Depending on where you are elsewhere in California, you could get a few quick weird looks for saying “the 5” (I inadvertently say it both ways and have had some glances but nothing crazy). Caliray is more aiming for a Southern California surfer type of aesthetic, so it makes sense in that regard.

Please look in too the strongest most researched red light device that. I had a face mask just like the one you mentioned. Then I was referred to this company from my dermatologist. “Mito red” has an great website with all medical research and showing their results. They offer a few different size red light devices. I’m working my way up to the “ big daddy “ ( lol 😂 you can connect the devices together so you can have a full body light therapy in home. 😮❤❤❤❤

Kackie, just a thought, but could it be possible that some of your facial cosmetic items could have become contaminated and need to be purged at this point to avoid reoccurring perioral dermatitis? Dental hygienist /germophobe here, wondering if you could have inadvertently introduced fungus/bacteria into any of your creams/brushes etc. Perfect breeding ground then, for creeping crud to breed and possibly reinfect once you finally get rid of the current episode. Hopefully not, but you may want to run it past your healthcare provider. Loving your content lately! Your sense of humor kills me sometimes! 🤣😂
