I'm happy with this guitar for 4 months, but it has some imperfections (gio moment, you know). 1- nut, its not bad at all, but i will change it anyway. 2- fretboard. Frets are smooth as you noticed, almost all of them sounds right, but I'm really thinking about a new fretboard. You may ask me why I'm going to do this, but for me it's way more easy to leave a neck and make a new freatboard than buying a new guitar. 3- pickups, I can't say something bad actually, but I think it will be a right decision to swap them. But after all, i think the guitar is made pretty well, everything is clean and straight, so I'm ready to invest some money with time and get a very good guitar with right setup. P.S. I hope my English isn't that bad
English is my second language, you're all good bb the pick ups are ok for starting but yea, if you just swap those things out for some pick ups you know you like it's a solid guitar glad you're happy with your purchase !
I picked up a GRGA120-BKN from my local store at the beginning of January to get back into playing after 20 years. Barely touched it, didn't like the trem (never have) and the strings were super light gauge. Then I saw they got the GRGR131 in stock. Instantly fell in love. The shop owner is an absolute ledge and let me do a straight exchange a week or so ago. I can't put this thing down! Feels way better in my hands and no trem system to worry about. This guitar is definitely setting the bar very high for budget guitars.
I got this guitar last week and am blown away with it. I got it for a home practice guitar in between gigs and so far couldn't be happier. Someone told me ha had used it live which I am now considering. That's how nice I feel this guitar is. Great Video!!
Is it good for deathcore and metalcore? And I want esp ltd ec-1000 but it is way over my budget. Do you think Gio will suffice temporarily instead? Thanks
@@Azra-cg9fn the ESP one would be way better but if you had to fall back on this one it's not a bad buy the neck is great on this you can most def play fast on this guitar just get a set up on it so that you can do your drop tuned stuff and switch out the pick ups later and it'll for sure suffice without a doubt
yes, the difference in quality between the two is a lot the they're the same price but the ibanez gives you way more quality for the buck this is genuinely a solid guitar even these pick ups sound better than the jackson so 100% go with this one try them both out if you can but with confidence, i recommend the ibanez
Been playing Guitar for about a year and something months now and i just love how this guitar looks more than the others in the higher price bracket of like 500 bucks. I love to play punk, metal, indie whatever. If the pickups and possibly the fretboard being dry (i think i'll just use fretboard oil or something i guess) are the only problems i think this would be a good investment. Im not too confident in changing the pickups but its such a sick fucking guitar. i started on a guitar my dad bought me 10 years ago when i was probably 7 and the electronics arent the best. the input jack wiring is being held together by tape since i paid a guitar teacher to solder it and it disconnected again in a month. I just need a guitar that works and has 24 frets.
this one is a good investment and if you're not as picky with pick ups as i am these will get the job done just fine it really feels good and not cheap even though it is a cheap guitar great bang for the buck as someone who's not getting paid for anyone to say this it's my honest opinion
Thinking about picking this up. I'm not new at this, but I am pretty broke and my current gio from circa 2007? Is kinda on its last legs. But the price is right and I haven't heard anything negative other than swap the pickups and maybe swap the nut and tuning heads. I kinda like it still has Infinity Rs in it because my "sound" won't change drastically right off the bat.
the pick ups were my only issue but if you're not recording or something, then this guitar is gonna be great to you if and when you get better and decide you have room to invest, just swap out the pick ups and keep jamming it's a solid guitar when i did this review, i just got it back from the shop with a proper set up and new strings so at most, just get it set up and you're good to go
@@ZombiePenguinStudios I almost pulled the trigger on this but it looks like I'm gonna go with the RGA42FM. It'll do what I need it to do and I personally feel it would be a better suited guitar for when I do swap pups. @@zKo87 hey, it's a step up and i'm all for starting with better if you can. ibanez had a thin series for a good chunk of time and tone was never an issue, at least to my ears (they usually came with EMGz or DiMarzios) but what was just a bit weird was the flatness of the back of the neck but with the model you said you're gonna get. you shouldn't have an issue. you got a solid guitar and have nothing to worry about!
