Great video man, thanks for sharing the whole process of selling logs. I think it was worth it to haul them in. I'm excited about the trailer deck build. God only knows how many times his angels have done the impossible to keep you safe 😂😂😅. But I like your plan for redoing the whole trailer at once. One and done is the best.
Well Lindsey, another great video. Always trying to educate us on things we don’t know about. Can’t hardly wait till the next production of yours.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
The 313 is about 31000 pounds, the trailer to haul it will be about 10000 pounds, the truck should pull it on flat roads but Jimmy and all of your buddies are gonna be needed to help you stop. Great video.
As long as the trailer is rated for it and the brakes work on trailer stopping should not be a problem. The truck with a good trailer will handle the dozer easily. I live in the mountains and have pulled a d3 all over the place with my 3500 legally. But no way I would pull the 313 where I live with a pickup. Where u live you can safely do more than I can as long as you act like you have a brain on the road. Watching you vids you are safe and careful.
@Bodie2020 I wouldn't pull the 313 but maybe down the road I live on and back. I for sure wouldn't pull it from job to job. Lol. I'm glad to hear you've pulled a D3 around with a 3500. Makes me feel a lot better about getting the truck
There were loaded 40k - 50k gooseneck trailers sitting at the scales on I-90 west of Billings. Apparently the ranchers would buy 2000-2002 3/4 ton flatbed Cummins, turn the fuel up and tow these trailers. They would trash the truck, then find another one. This was in 2007-2009 ish. One of the DOT inspectors said there was one of the 3/4 ton trucks that weighed 64,000 lbs. Montana is an awesome place to leave. Land is great but the majority of the people suck.
Another great video ! Hauling that type of weigh with a 3500 pickup truck is ill-advised at best. In an accident a lawyer would have a field day with you. Not worth losing your livelihood or worse injuring some innocent poor bastard…..take it from someone that knows….
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼………………………………………………………. At least they were used and you didn’t have to throw them on the burn pile. I’ve taken a few logs to the saw mill after hurricanes hit and blew trees on my property down. I’ve been to two saw mills and they both paid by the board foot. They used one of those sticks to measure each log and grade them by species.
@@smithworx1091 The ones that I went to cut wood for flooring. There was a big Lumber Liquidators plant over Toano, Virginia. Every mill around here sold to them, when the LL Plant shut down, so did the saw mills. Now there’s only few saw mills around here.
Liked the video & looking forward to the trailer repair videos 😎 kinda got short changed on seeing the boards being cut 😎 you could be saving that for the start of the trailer videos though 😎
Good money vs. the alternative! I wish we had a mill that we could sell directly to but we don’t so to the fire pile they go! People ask me why don’t I keep hardwood logs heck I’ve got a pile the size of a house that’s rotting now lol
Ahh man y'all don't have a mill close by? They cut cross ties at the mill I was at. I have so many logs laying around that's just rotting. But they're there if I need any
I'm glad you're going to put a new deck on the trailer. You don't have enough old decking to start a fire.😂 Are you going to put a sealant on the wood before you put it on the trailer? I did both sides of our decking and it has lasted a years. But I did roll some sealant on it every summer for the first 3 years. It's lasted longer than I thought it would. Your going to have a nice trailer once you fix it up. A little paint and it will look good behind that sweet looking Dodge. Love the color of your truck and those tires and rims really look great. Love those Dodge trucks. Don't let Jimmy work you to hard😂 Be Safe Out There.
It's long over due. I'm not sure if I'll seal it just yet since the lumber is still really green. I might let it dry a few weeks and then put a good coat of motor oil and diesel on it.
@@smithworx1091I checked down here a year or two ago and it was around $35 a ton. We probably have around 120 to 150 tons but there’s some rot and less than half the logs are over 18” diameter. I’d pretty much have to pay if sold it to a mill. 😂
750, hell yeah it's worth it, 750 more than what you had before, bro if you had 4 or 5 loads like that stacked up an just hauled all morning, man your gonna get a good payday, thanks for sharing, an man people can be as#hole#,can't stand that, I get it, thanks for sharing again brother, P. 🤣🤣 I'm embarrassed about it. When I was cutting the lumber, the sawmill kept shutting off on me. I knew that would be my luck when I got ready to do something for myself
I wouldn’t say a waste of time but I think that’s highway robbery I’ve always said mills are crooks Takes decades to grow that wood and 100’s of thousands in equipment to get to the mill. $750 ain’t much but it’s something
@@smithworx1091 Yep after that Red Oak is cut into boards and dried it will bring $3-$5 a BF for fine wood working. That's pretty cool. This specific sawmill cuts cross ties. I figure that's why they just go by tonnage.

I'll save that for the trailer video. Thanks brother
Nice job. Love the new truck. I haven't been able to watch in a while. I've got some catching up to do.

What lift and size tires?
Yessir. Tires are 35's and the lift is a 2.5" leveling kit. I think he put 2.5" spacers on the rear wheels also.

You're right buddy. I'll be pulling the dozer with it soon.
A little money is better than going to waste
Boards are fine on the gooseneck, new boards aren’t worth the weight penalty 🤣
I think anything over $500 is worth hauling them in.

Trynna get that bread cuz!
well, it’s almost a pick up payment! 😂
Haha. That's what I said too
I would have kept the logs, I would cut them on my sawmill one log at a time. Live and learn.
I would if I had the time. I really just wanted to see what the truck could do lol
I like my 2023 mirrors a lot more than our 2022’s
