Stagestep people said I need to get rid of carpet then put on vinyl mat. Do you think I can put plywood on any carpet and then lay vinyl on it? I am thinking buy vinyl of 5.5 mm thickness.
Great idea & video. Why did you use marine grade Sande plywood rather than rough cheaper plywood for the first layer with good one side plywood as the top layer? Did you use wood filler or something similar to smooth out the tops of the wood screws before applying the Marley floor?
I didn't use the cheaper plywood simply because it wasn't even and I didn't know how it would affect my dance floor. I just bought the more expensive one. You could try it and let me know if it works!
EMPHASIS needs to be given this is ONLY to be installed on wood flooring with carpet NOT basement concrete with carpet. Regrettably I just installed a 7x9 one of these using the exact materials and there is no give or spring or bounce. Disappointed daughter and now need to figure our sub layer of foam or pool noodles like professionals would have done.
Hey I was thinking of doing this o for our basement which has carpet. When I press on the carpet it does feel a bit bouncy, did yours feel that way?im concerned now that you say it didn’t work for your basement.
Honestly the best information I have seen for a video on a long time! Loved the digital representation!
Great video. Using this as a guide for our overlay on apartment carpet. Thanks.

Would you recommend this floor for just walking around on? Looking at injury prevention and home theater use (feel the subwoofers)
This is so helpful 🥰✌
I'm so glad!
It is very useful, I am looking for the dance floor which is placed on the carpet!
Great!
When did you screw the plywood together and where? Also does the marley tape show when you pics together?

Hello, did you use 2 layers of plywood?
This is a wonderful guide! How did you find the remnant piece from Harlequin? I don't see an option on their website. Thank you for your help!
I’m glad it helped! It won’t show on their website, you would need to give them a call and ask. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Where did you buy the mirror
I was wondering whether over time the carpet flattened. And did that decrease the spring in the floor?
Do you think it would be possible to create multiple sections and then combine them for a larger dance floor?
Great idea..
Thank you! Cheers!
Great instructiinal video help! Can you help us out and share where did you found the mirror?
I got it from a local mirror shop in my hometown.
@@PharmDTips and what was an approximate cost?
@@LadyLaChapelle I think I spent around $400-500

Hi, thanks for this video! I was wondering, what program did you use to get your plywood measurements and layout for the room?
you're welcome!
I used canva!
Is this a website? Canvas.com?
You can do turns with jazz shoes on it right? :)
I believe so.
Thanks. What did u put on the corners (black thing) before installing plywood?
They were just small foam. They're from those gym puzzle pieces. amzn.to/3jtXocH
is this the type of flooring that most dance studios use?
Yes, I believe so. There are different variations of the Marley floor though. Some are thicker than others.
Where did U buy the marley tape
I ordered it from the same company that sold me the marley flooring
Do you need Marley floor if you use wood polish and wax the wood?
It depends what you are using it for. The Marley floor is mainly for ballet.
Where can you get Marley floor for cheap again? And also can i just use wood? It’s for ballet.
You can get it here - amzn.to/2TI9q5n
Can I come dance with you :)
of course!
