This will probably be buried but this is my impression of all this. Sayori's death and Yuri's death are vastly different, yet both completely tragic. Here's why. Sayori may have been edited my Monika, but she's always been depressed, at least a little. It isn't surprising for a yes girl like Sayori to be depressed. Of course her death was terrible. After day 4 of act 1, everything slowly went to crap as Sayori got closer to the edge. Her death theme is more eerie than sad, since it represents the dramatic shift in story. Yuri's death is vastly different, and tragic. She didn't go down as herself. She killed herself as the horrible monster that Monika made her to be. The theme here is slow. As the crazed state Yuri was in, music was often sped up, wild, or other if she was involved. But this is different. Everything comes to a screeching halt when she dies. Her shift into complete insanity was sad to me. This girl who prided herself on being mature and reserved died from insanity and inability to control emotions. Sorry for dumping this here

I remember watching a friend play this and then she went to sleep so I got really bored and decided to play the game and I have schizophrenia so at that time when I saw it... it hit me and it hit me HARD I started breaking down crying and hyperventilating I still feel so bad for my friend she legit did nothing and I scared her
Doki Doki was truly something else... I had the best time playing it, as well as the worst time playing it. It was probably my first ever experience with anything horror related. The stories of all of the girls (other than Monika, since she didn't really have a sad or disturbing story) just shook me to my core. I remember having recurring nightmares of Yuri coming and trying to kill me with her knife or Natsuki snapping her neck. I definitely remember getting really attached to Sayori, and thinking it was my fault that she had hung herself, even though it was just a game, and the outcome was the same even if I had said I didn't like her back. I started becoming afraid of the dark again, imagining that whenever I went into a dark room, there could be Sayori just hanging there. Her death was truly the thing that affected me the most from Doki Doki Literature Club. I even recall my friend saying that he felt sick to his stomach after seeing Yuri stabbing herself. I still to this day can't play DDLC at night.

ok- i am super late but- idc- yuri's death...just hit me like a huge boulder. here's the way i put it: imagine a small child coming up to you and smacking you in the face. his hit _hurts._ you saw the hit coming, but not the power behind it. that's how i felt about her death. i always tried to impress her, get her to talk to me and spend time with me. i would always, fortunately, prevail. we read together, i fed her chocolate, she came to my house...we spent so much wonderful time together. it felt like we _genuinely_ loved each other. after sayori's death, it sure did hit me hard, but yuri made me feel better about it. her timid self, greeting me into the clubroom. her confession...made me cry. _a lot._ she had gone insane over me. the girl i loved, gone crazy over me. _me._ just...watching her stab herself. after _accepting_ her confession... _shattered_ my heart. it tore it up to _shreds._ watching her, my love, commit suicide right before my eyes. seeing her...her lifeless body...laying there, to decay. she was lifeless, i couldn't do anything. i was just some girl on the other side of the screen. watching the blood dry up, her eyes lose life every day...just, hurt my heart.

It really was saddening to see, honestly. I feared she would look a LOT worse, but I'm glad we don't see her decay further that that. She was a bit creepy, but I liked that tbh. She was so cute when she was crazy, but not when she were rude to Natsuki. I did not blame her completely for her behavior and instability cause I knew Monika had tampered with her along with the rest of the girls. Her dialogue really suggested she had future plans to spend time with the player, even in freakish ways. Honestly, I believe she never had any real intentions of committing suicide. Remember how she would always cut herself as a habit? Well I believe when you answer Yes or No to her love confession, she merely brought her self-cutting habit to a high enough extreme where it became fatal, recklessly stabbing her self in the belly and above the left breast rather than cutting her forearms, and unintentionally causing herself to bleed out. If I were able to, no matter how bad she smelled, cold or pale she was, I would have given her a very sympathetic kiss, and whisper that I will bring the one responsible for this (and for tampering with the other girls) to justice (Monika in this case).
I think it should be names "Final Moments" because it's the last time you'll see anything ever again before Monika deletes it all. Also because it's the precious weekend you'll spend with Yuri one last time...with her corpse. Hey it's my opinion so feel free to differ.
I mean in my opinion it should stay the same, because throughout the whole game they have some of the same OST- it's just modified to sound different, and to me that's a representation of the way Monika was messing the game files throughout you know? It was a nice thought though
This makes me realise that deep down, Yuri didn't want to do anything she did in Act 2 or be like anything she was like in Act 2. Her normal persona, who she was deep down, shows in Act 1, before Sayori's death. It's kind of like, after killing off Sayori and deleting her file and stuff like that, Monika purposely corrupted Yuri's character file and made her confess her true feelings that she wanted to confess in Act 1, and that got corrupted too, so Yuri kills herself either way. But, I think Monika got corrupted too, by the game script itself, and that's why she can master the script and why she kills every other member off just for MC's love. All the club members cared so much for eachother, it's just their files got corrupted right after Sayori's death. This game really hits hard, and I know they all didn't want to do what they did to themselves and eachother. Thank you, Dan Salvato, this game is an absolute masterpiece, you're a legend. This is all just a theory, what I've written, but wow, Dan.
DDLC is a very tragic game. and the deaths tie it all up. the death of yuri was definitely the hardest for me to get over. she was such a beautiful mature girl. but since monika edited her, all that went to the deep. i feel so sorry for yuri. she went through all the pain of insanity and uncontrollable feelings it just ended to suicide. i love you yuri. you may not be here, but i love you, *i still love you.*
I have a theory regarding what truly happened and Libitina: Libitina had something to do with the canon developer of the game and so she may have possessed the game, more specifically Monika and then Sayori soon after. Maybe seeking revenge of some sorts. However, Monika in the end became truly aware of what was happening and wants to stop it.
The scariest part of the game that people often over look, is that some of the scare factor is brought by the protagonist, you see, in act 1 the protagonist interacts with the characters and talks to them and is part of the group ( and thats not just because in act 2 things are scary) because even when sayori dies the protagonist goes a long with it and has a break down, making it sad but not as scary as for example yuris death, because of the sudden shift in game sayoris death is defiantly tragic and scary, but because by the time it’s yuris turn the player expects it so amplifying the horror by throwing off the player by removing the sane protagonist who’s meant to be on your side throughout the game. but as soon as act two comes around there’s little to non commentary from the protagonist (not including the stuff from act 1). (This is shown best during yuris confession, as far as I’m aware the protagonist doesn’t speak which like I said makes it so its just you and yuri) this causes a lot more fear when playing because the mc is just an empty vessel your looking through like a screen un able to fix what’s going on, it in a way isolate you from the story (in most story’s being isolated from the plot and making it obvious that your just spectating ruins the point and stops you from feeling involved, but in this case it Works really well) making you seem like all you can do is watch and feeling separated from the characters unable to save them (especially after seeing what happened to sayori) after being so close to them and almost being in there minds tears you away tragically and makes you feel hopeless , alone and alienated. And because of these emotions caused by the uncanny feeling of being brought to reality and reminded that you can’t change what’s happening in the game with duologue or desitions that go thorugh the protagonist, it makes when monika reveals that she is sentient work in her favour because she’s caused you to be disconnected from the other characters by not letting you speak to them. Yes you cant speak to monika, but unlike the other charcsters who are unable to realise that you arnt are unable to talk and am not the protagonist, monika addresses that and talks to you directly. But instead of you relying on monika it’s turns into you despising her for ruining what you had, so in conclusion A for effort it was a good plan on monikas part but didn’t work out for her.
Imagine DDLC but nothing bad happens, and we get to see the festival, and confess our love with the girl you picked the most. But truly, there is no happiness in the literature club.

I remember watching a friend play this and then she went to sleep so I got really bored and decided to play the game and I have schizophrenia so at that time when I saw it... it hit me and it hit me HARD I started breaking down crying and hyperventilating I still feel so bad for my friend she legit did nothing and I scared her

Doki Doki was truly something else... I had the best time playing it, as well as the worst time playing it. It was probably my first ever experience with anything horror related. The stories of all of the girls (other than Monika, since she didn't really have a sad or disturbing story) just shook me to my core. I remember having recurring nightmares of Yuri coming and trying to kill me with her knife or Natsuki snapping her neck. I definitely remember getting really attached to Sayori, and thinking it was my fault that she had hung herself, even though it was just a game, and the outcome was the same even if I had said I didn't like her back. I started becoming afraid of the dark again, imagining that whenever I went into a dark room, there could be Sayori just hanging there. Her death was truly the thing that affected me the most from Doki Doki Literature Club. I even recall my friend saying that he felt sick to his stomach after seeing Yuri stabbing herself. I still to this day can't play DDLC at night.
Oh to play it with no knowledge at all again it was such a terrifying experience I love it 😭😭

yuri's death...just hit me like a huge boulder. here's the way i put it: imagine a small child coming up to you and smacking you in the face. his hit _hurts._ you saw the hit coming, but not the power behind it. that's how i felt about her death. i always tried to impress her, get her to talk to me and spend time with me. i would always, fortunately, prevail. we read together, i fed her chocolate, she came to my house...we spent so much wonderful time together. it felt like we _genuinely_ loved each other. after sayori's death, it sure did hit me hard, but yuri made me feel better about it. her timid self, greeting me into the clubroom. her confession...made me cry. _a lot._ she had gone insane over me. the girl i loved, gone crazy over me. _me._ just...watching her stab herself. after _accepting_ her confession... _shattered_ my heart. it tore it up to _shreds._ watching her, my love, commit suicide right before my eyes. seeing her...her lifeless body...laying there, to decay. she was lifeless, i couldn't do anything. i was just some girl on the other side of the screen. watching the blood dry up, her eyes lose life every day...just, hurt my heart.

It really was saddening to see, honestly. I feared she would look a LOT worse, but I'm glad we don't see her decay further that that. She was a bit creepy, but I liked that tbh. She was so cute when she was crazy, but not when she were rude to Natsuki. I did not blame her completely for her behavior and instability cause I knew Monika had tampered with her along with the rest of the girls. Her dialogue really suggested she had future plans to spend time with the player, even in freakish ways. Honestly, I believe she never had any real intentions of committing suicide. Remember how she would always cut herself as a habit? Well I believe when you answer Yes or No to her love confession, she merely brought her self-cutting habit to a high enough extreme where it became fatal, recklessly stabbing her self in the belly and above the left breast rather than cutting her forearms, and unintentionally causing herself to bleed out.
If I were able to, no matter how bad she smelled, cold or pale she was, I would have given her a very sympathetic kiss, and whisper that I will bring the one responsible for this (and for tampering with the other girls) to justice (Monika in this case).

This makes me realise that deep down, Yuri didn't want to do anything she did in Act 2 or be like anything she was like in Act 2. Her normal persona, who she was deep down, shows in Act 1, before Sayori's death. It's kind of like, after killing off Sayori and deleting her file and stuff like that, Monika purposely corrupted Yuri's character file and made her confess her true feelings that she wanted to confess in Act 1, and that got corrupted too, so Yuri kills herself either way. But, I think Monika got corrupted too, by the game script itself, and that's why she can master the script and why she kills every other member off just for MC's love. All the club members cared so much for eachother, it's just their files got corrupted right after Sayori's death. This game really hits hard, and I know they all didn't want to do what they did to themselves and eachother. Thank you, Dan Salvato, this game is an absolute masterpiece, you're a legend. This is all just a theory, what I've written, but wow, Dan.
DDLC is a very tragic game. and the deaths tie it all up. the death of yuri was definitely the hardest for me to get over. she was such a beautiful mature girl. but since monika edited her, all that went to the deep. i feel so sorry for yuri. she went through all the pain of insanity and uncontrollable feelings it just ended to suicide. i love you yuri. you may not be here, but i love you, *i still love you.*
I have a theory regarding what truly happened and Libitina:
Libitina had something to do with the canon developer of the game and so she may have possessed the game, more specifically Monika and then Sayori soon after. Maybe seeking revenge of some sorts. However, Monika in the end became truly aware of what was happening and wants to stop it.

The scariest part of the game that people often over look, is that some of the scare factor is brought by the protagonist, you see, in act 1 the protagonist interacts with the characters and talks to them and is part of the group ( and thats not just because in act 2 things are scary) because even when sayori dies the protagonist goes a long with it and has a break down, making it sad but not as scary as for example yuris death, because of the sudden shift in game sayoris death is defiantly tragic and scary, but because by the time it’s yuris turn the player expects it so amplifying the horror by throwing off the player by removing the sane protagonist who’s meant to be on your side throughout the game. but as soon as act two comes around there’s little to non commentary from the protagonist (not including the stuff from act 1). (This is shown best during yuris confession, as far as I’m aware the protagonist doesn’t speak which like I said makes it so its just you and yuri) this causes a lot more fear when playing because the mc is just an empty vessel your looking through like a screen un able to fix what’s going on, it in a way isolate you from the story (in most story’s being isolated from the plot and making it obvious that your just spectating ruins the point and stops you from feeling involved, but in this case it Works really well) making you seem like all you can do is watch and feeling separated from the characters unable to save them (especially after seeing what happened to sayori) after being so close to them and almost being in there minds tears you away tragically and makes you feel hopeless , alone and alienated. And because of these emotions caused by the uncanny feeling of being brought to reality and reminded that you can’t change what’s happening in the game with duologue or desitions that go thorugh the protagonist, it makes when monika reveals that she is sentient work in her favour because she’s caused you to be disconnected from the other characters by not letting you speak to them. Yes you cant speak to monika, but unlike the other charcsters who are unable to realise that you arnt are unable to talk and am not the protagonist, monika addresses that and talks to you directly. But instead of you relying on monika it’s turns into you despising her for ruining what you had, so in conclusion A for effort it was a good plan on monikas part but didn’t work out for her.
