There's an SNL sketch from the late 90s that was very similar to this one as far as build up and punchline. The sketch was called "The Men at the Center of the Earth."
Funnily enough this video has been sitting unwatched in my "Recommended" section for a good month now. For some reason I just kept ignoring it, just like the salad in the video
My sister in law baked a cake the dogs wouldn't eat, and the rain wouldn't melt it either. I don't know, maybe she stirred it with her broom. In a cauldron.

Haha, I was thinking about that too, like if a whole 2 hours had gone by as everyone ate all the other food. I wish everyone knew about the 2 hour/40-140 "Danger Zone" rule, could save lives (and toilet paper.)
Lol this is so my mom with her “famous” potato salad. She makes the same dish for every gathering, stresses over it, never gets enough sleep the night before, and most people skip over it entirely at dinner 😄
That is basically how most people do their pasta salad. Just cold soggy pasta with mayonnaise. It gets even worse when they add some canned peas to it. Disgusting XD

I ended up eating some and it was actually quite good. I just wanted her to feel better lol. There is nothing worse than NO ONE eating something that you put time and effort into. Poor thing.
this reminds me of a class party at school and i remember a girl named Joy that brought a plate of teddy grams, at the end of the party i saw her sad face as she was leaving with the same plate that had been untouched. 😭 i hope she is doing alright in life

I love that they made sure to hint at the ending, you can see that there's been killings from macoroni salad and you can see the shock, hesitancy and disgust every time someone looks at the salad, especially at the beginning when she gives the bowl to the host.
I remember when this first aired back in the 1990s or early 2000s. I remember not seeing it coming then, but I was young and naive. Truly is one great sketch from Mad TV. They had so many in the good old days, before Will Sasso and a ton of other regular cast members left.
