By far the best setup. Not just in terms of using the field case but for overall portability, and the fact that I can attach it to my bag is like I’ve to not worry about anything, thank you!
Your review was one of the videos that helped me make up my mind on this case. It looked so small when I first saw it, and I didn’t realize how much it could actually hold. I’ve now got a whole portable watercolor kit in mine, and it’s super easy to take by itself or in addition to my normal day bag (which already includes my essential sketch stuff). Seriously love it! It’s a perfect size for me.
Like others, this was the review that tipped the scales for me, and i managed to fit a LOT in my field case. With the expeditionary art palettes being super thin, not only could i fit 18 watercolours, travel brushes, pens, mechanical pencil, and water brushes, on the other side i managed to fit a selection of neocolour II crayons AND a selection of of luminance and polychromo's pencils. Also my phone totally fits in the pouch at the front 😄 Fun tip! You can attach a D ring clip to the outside loops of the bag and carry a small flask with it as well. It's a little heavy depending on the size of the flask, but it means you literally have EVERYTHING you could ever need for a day out and about.
I love how you have a place for hang your paint tubes. Great idea 💡 I would love to have the Etchr bag like yours, but I have already spent a small fortune on Art supplies, because like you I am addicted to Art Supplies and Plein Air kits. The worst thing is I am a newbie to Art of any kind. 😊
Very clever! I need to take a second look at that- I was afraid it was too small to carry stuff. I've recently started carrying a a5 Art tool kit which I like. Great sketches!
Thanks! Yeah it’s very useful, even if I want to take a bigger sketchbook I just chuck the case in a bigger bag along with the sketchbook - super handy and saves me time packing all my materials every time I want to go somewhere!
Heyyy ! Tip … I just put my watercolor paint tin on the outside pocket of my case and now there is of more space inside ! Try it I promise it makes a difference! 😃😃
I really enjoy your creativity use of the pencil case! At first, I was planning to get the Etchr Slate Mini, but after having seen your video, I’m not sure if I should get the case instead for increased portability.
Thanks for watching! I think it really depends on how big you like to sketch - this is a great option for small everyday sketches, but you might want something bigger if you’re doing more substantial stuff!
This was really interesting, thanks for sharing how you set your field case up! I got mine as part of the Kickstarter, but got a bit frustrated with the deep interior pockets and it wasn't quite wide enough for me. I stopped using it a while ago, but I want to try putting my watercolour palette in the back pocket! I was always too scared to really pack mine out in case the stitching and zips wouldn't hold up, but it looks likes yours is doing just fine! How wide is it when you have it zipped up and completely filled with your supplies? :)
It definitely took me a while to figure out the best set up, and some things just don’t fit like the big clip that I keep on the outside. But overall it’s been good for me to pare down my kit as I have been known to take waaay too much! So far the zips have been holding up, and I heard someone say the fabric loosens over time to fit, kind of like shoes! It does feel very stretched when it’s completely full but I’ve been learning to trust it... but let’s see how it’s holding up in a year or two, that will be the real test!
Do you like the small sized sketchbook? I got the large one in hot press I do watercolor illustrations . I don’t use cold press because it’s usually to much texture so I’m not sure how this brand would be
I love it - It actually feels surprisingly roomy, especially if you paint across the fold. I haven't tried the hot press as I'm more of a cold press person!
That advert before this video is SO fake, Everyones going made for the portable heater in the UK, I dont think so . However the review is very honest Josie. I feel from your review the bag is too small. but thanks for sharing
Some quick feedback: having moving video on the sides of your portrait video is super distracting, especially for someone with a visual processing disability. A blurred, motionless or solid colored background would be much easier. I have the same case and have one major wish. I wish they had thought ahead for people wanting to carry a pretty standard 5x8 sketchbook/notebook in there. It would be nearly perfect with addition of a pocket (and extra depth) for that. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for that, I’ll definitely bear that in mind next time I’m editing! And agreed, a pocket would be very handy or even just slightly wider (hint hint Etchr if you are reading this!!)
The fact that you can take your art stuff on a dog walk speaks volumes about how well behaved your dog is🥰
By far the best setup. Not just in terms of using the field case but for overall portability, and the fact that I can attach it to my bag is like I’ve to not worry about anything, thank you!
Your video is the only reason I bought this and I’m gonna set it up just like yours! Thank you so much for this- new urban sketcher
Best set up for this case I’ve seen
🥰🥰🥰

That’s great to hear! I use mine all the time too, it’s super handy and can also fit into a bigger bag if needed 😊 enjoy!

So glad it helped! And the D ring idea is genius, I'll have to give it a shot 😊

Nice point of view. Really liked this one.
thanks!
this is so helpful! thank you...

🥰🥰
Thank you so much for sharing. I am so excited to get into sketching more outside too :) So really helpful to see your set-up. x Tina
I’m so glad! Enjoy 😊 xxxx
This is really helpful!! Just picked one up. Thank you!
I’m so glad, enjoy!! 🥰
I've order the field case, thnkx

Ooh interesting I’ll see if mine fits, thanks!
Love your video and setup gave me much needed inspiration, thank you
The case is really nice but pretty small and it seems like it's going to blow up xD .. I can already see you buying a bigger one in the near future
Hahahah you may be right (aka I may already have one on the way 😂)
Very nice, thank you so much! Where can I get these water pots? Thank you! ❣️
This plus a stabio board would ideal. A cheaper version of this is a cable case from EBay. Has a lot of the same structure and pockets.
Ooh that's a good hack if you don't want to spend the money!
Hi what is a stabio board? Thanks
Those water pots look awesome? How big is their diameter?

Where did you get the magnetic clips? I’ve not seen ones as small as those. Thanks for your practical review.
I got them from Bunnings!
If anyone sees this video now this field case is on sale at Jackson’s right now!!
Ooh good tip! 👌

@@JosieViolet Good to know thank you, I got mine out again last night and I am going to give it another go! :D

😍😍😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi can I ask what size the clip on pots are please? There are several in Jackson's but unsure if they will fit. Thank you!
I think it’s the one called STUDIO ESSENTIALS : DOUBLE ARTIST DIPPER AND LID : 2X1.5IN DIAMETER on Jackson’s 😊
@@JosieViolet thank you, you are very kind :)
I've been really taken with your set up and decided to go for it (taking my role as a you tube influencee seriously lol). Thanks for the info :)
@@lizcharalambous9150 Yay how exciting, let me know how it goes!
What kind of brush are you using on 3:55 video time… It doesn’t look like the ones the link you post on the description.
That is the Rosemary and Co travel dagger brush :)
I believe this case has an attachment built it so you can attach it to a tripod...
