  • Contract Rat shooting tonight on a commercial chicken farm. They are absolutely everywhere and have totally overrun this property. I'm using the FX Impact M3 600mm barrel air rifle in .22 cal topped with the Pulsar Thermion2 Pro Lrf XP50 thermal scope. I have found the best ammunition for my Rifle with this type of work are the JSB Hades 15.89gr pellets travelling at approximately 650fps.
As you can see from the footage, it was an action packed couple of hours with around 200 rats dispatched. Another very successful evening shooting these critters not to mention the added bonus of plenty of trigger time.

I’m 66 now. Texas rancher. I can shoot like you. I honed my skill in the mid 60’s shooting rats with a .22 in cactus flats. It was not unusual for me to burn up a brick of 1,000 rounds in a single outing. Killed hundreds of rats. Sometimes it was pistols only. Rat shot not allowed. Tremendous fun - aside from the rattlesnakes - and damn good training for snap offhand running targets. Times are different today. Not as many out on a ranch. Kids do other things now I suppose. With all that said, I love your video and would love to tag along. I’ll go shot for shot with you Partner! Su Amigo! Texas!
