The greatest rendition of Raga Darbari Kanada I have come across! Immortalized by Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan, his deep voice was destined to create this divine, majestic connection with the spiritual. The astonishing command with which he lays out the grand alaap and embodies the raga, expanding grandly in the vilambit and flooding the halls of our consciousness-this embodiment, this presentation can not be equalled! This recording is from the 1995 album 'Gharana Series: Patiala Vol. 1', and is available on Spotify as well in better audio quality. Thank you for sharing this incredibly rare performance of a profound composition! Does anyone know the lyrics/words of the bandish? One suggestion is that 'Meherbaan' or 'Mian Meherbaan Khan', a noted composer of the Patiala Gharana, created this bandish in the early 1900s, but I am unable to find the verses. If anyone comes across the words to this bandish, please do share!
