What a great coincidence of these three masters together for rendering eternal & divine Indian clasical Music on "Sarang "i !!! We are really blessed to listen their present partial master piece desiring for more & more till the end ! Ustad Sultanji was really Goddess Saraswati blessed 🙏
exactly, feel chocked about that, even as a westerner i am, passioned into hindustani music for more than 20 years i was so surprised to see how youngsters indians are so attracted by low quality level of western music, even if sometimes Soul can be there, Love, the Level is never like in Indian music..
Don't worry, It works both ways. Many westerners are enchanted with classical Indian music now; the Sarangi is a big one, along with Yogic meditation; they are taking hold across many areas of the west...It is simply a balance which is being achieved.
Dear sir I agree with your opinion if you are saying this for mass, not for all the youngesters. Because there are lot's of people who are carrying those jems of old classical music. Even you can see this in this video as Sabir Khan (son of Ustaad Sultan Khan Saheb) and Dilshad Khan (nephew of Ustaad Sultan Khan Saheb)
Please, please, please preserve your culture and transmit to the succeeding generations. So much Beauty, Art, and Truth has been lost on the easy path of assimilation and everyone is the more deprived and impoverished as a result. Many voices in my own lineage have been almost totally silenced, so I speak from experience. As Vasken 2 head of the Armenian Autocephalous Church once said in part:”We Need Everybody!”
Ustad Sultan Khanji was not only a great musician but a wonderful personality .He was blessed by Goddess Saraswati . I have good memories of him .He passed away much before his time I think.
Since last several centuries not only Intrumentalists but overall Gharana Musicians have got benefitted from the Gharanas Bandishes (compositions) of traditional Vocalists of legendary Gharanas like Agra, Atrauli-Jaipur, Khurja, Hapur, Sikandra and Delhi Tanras Khan gharanas. Ustad Sultan Khan was one of the most accomplished Sarangi Players of his times. The Raga Jog Bandishes which he played in this video are of the great Maestros PREMPIYA and PRANPIYA of the famous Agra Gharana.
'Saajan More Ghar Aaye' is composed by Ud Ara Hussain Khan, on the occasion of the marriage of Prem Piya _Ud Fayyaz Khan to his sister.Hence 'Prem Piya hum paaye(or ghar aave)'.It is not a bandish composed by Prem Piya!
i stll remember ustajis charukeshi live @ 3.45 AM in SPICMACAY concert JAIPUR decade ago, Wonderfull, and another fellow from Mattanchery, Kerala said it was his life time ever great concert ......we miss Ustad
I indeed hated sarangi for being Islamic instrument! But I came to know the beauty of sarangi in Pandit Ravishankar's Discovery album! From that onwards the fan of Ustad Sultan Khan Sarangi!
Such a rare treat of life time.. vah vah

Priceless rendition. I feel sad that our youngsters only know more about Western music but not much about our musical heritage.
I agree sir
