That's hysterical! The flag man motioning for the driver to back up to unhook.🤣🤣🤯
I was laughing pretty good over that too, I think he was in shock from that thing detonating in his face!!!!!
I heard parts bouncing across the concrete floor!!!!!!
Hope everyone was ok!!
Looking at a blown motor in dead silence and you tell the driver to back up. That’s when you are good at your job. 😀
Better yet, at 1:06 the driver pushes in the clutch and shifts into reverse.
Thanks for commenting.
I believe the flag man was actually pointing to the driver asking if he’s ok
A customer came in our store this morning and told me about this who was there. Like someone else said, expect rule changes, apparently that's happened now? How no one was hit by anything is a miracle. I'll never put much faith in those scatter shields again to stand too close. It's a miracle.
It was a miracle for sure.
Poor Zach has to be questioning his life choices as finish line flagman by now. He was the finish line flagman when the Hammered tractor blew up like this at Tipton in 2020 too. Twice a major failure that sent major parts flying in a light pro class in 3 years. Time to make some changes, chain these engines down or something. We can do better.
Yeah he has been at the receiving end of a couple major engine explosions as the flag man!!!! Time for some new rules on engine Tie downs!!! That thing flew 30 plus feet into the wall!!!!
I thought years ago they wrapped a blanket like thing around them?
You could put all the restraints you want on that engine and it would of snapped them all. This is a classic example of bottom of the stroke engine explosion which is most time caused by parts failure in the valve train or possibly a piston melting. The best approach to minimizing this sort of engine explosion is as people stated applying of some form(s) of engine restraints but it also needs to include monitoring of crank case pressure and once a certain threshold that is x% above normal the engine needs to be shut down before it grenades and if does blow up hopefully the explosion is less violent and the engine restraints are then able to hold. Note I am basing my statement on what has been developed and is now required for Top Fuel Funny Cars and Dragsters where engine cylinders are quite literally filled with a fuel charge of 90% liquid Nitromethane/10% Methanol which allows the engines make in excess of 10,000 horsepower
@@randykroells8049 they do have what they call a clutch blanket that they all run, but they are supposed to have a 1/2” cable looped around the entire top end of the engine to keep it from ejecting out the tractor but it must have failed or wasn’t installed correctly!!
@@gullreefclub nope it’s called a lot of material removed from block for clearance and a lot of boost
Didn't have his face shield down on his helmet, he's lucky everything went forward...
Drives me crazy to see thousands of dollars worth of safety equipment and something like this visor up. Often see helmets not strapped as well. Hopefully this opens some eyes and changes behavior.
The safety cable at the front of the engine is meant to direct the block and head forward in case an engine unzips. It did its job before it broke. They have mandated more cables now.
Thanks for watching.
I'd like to see a frame by frame video replay to try and see what let go first. Sorry for the puller, not much left that's salvageable.
Just go through the video slowly and you will see it unfold.
I was there i actually came up to ur booth and im surprised the piston didnt melt your guys canopy
We were surprised as well. We're also surprised that we didn't know the piston was on there earlier.
@@beermoneypullingteam i am really surprised that nobody got seriously hurt
That frame on the mini gettin blowed apart like that 😳😳 but Matt’s tractor detonating like that, it didn’t look like there was any cable on the top end to keep it in the tractor??? My lord that was scary
@@ChucksPullingVideos Cable is meant to flip the motor forward not hold to block down.
@@ChucksPullingVideos no way!!!!!!
Seriously, I agree with you cables are not enough!!!! Lucky nobody got hurt bad!!!
It about sent the top end threw the wall it looked like on beer money pulling video!!!
@@ChucksPullingVideos Nope, need to tether the head to the bottom of the block. Mondovi tractor does this with the Light Pro's they work on already. Expect a rule change of some sort for this.
Wow cant belive this happened in our own Shipshewana.
We can't believe it either.
Did anyone get hurt? It looked like some guys were close by? Man that thing exploded.
No one got hurt.
Bomb going off ,lucky bystanders .
That is an inclosed facility?
It is yes.
Omg the name of the tractor "It's No Joke" seriously
Thanks for watching!
Well, the top half stayed together & the bottom stayed together. if the 2 halves would have just stayed together, all would have been good
Thanks for watching.
Crazy.
😲
Tractor pulling is a passion for the competitors. They risk a $60,000 engine on every pass so they can win a $1500 check.
You got that right.
That engine was 90,000 I know the guy his name is smokey
No cables on limited pro?
Someone there said safety straps broke
Yes they did have the required cable installed
They did have the cables.
That’s a boom
A big one at that.
HOLY COW that was not good the driver and team i am sure they went threw that tractor with fine tooth comb to get ready for the new season and all gear boxes and engine had been rebuilt and fresh and ready
Thank you for commenting!
Safety first
Number 1 rule ⬆⬆⬆
His reaction🤣
Thanks for watching.
@@beermoneypullingteam not a problem. Long time listener first time poster
So lucky nobody got hurt real bad
Very lucky
that flag man is lucky!
Very lucky.
Couldda took an eye out.
Glad it didn't though.
1,2,3 oh shit
😲
Hope nobody was hurt
No one was hurt
His heart probly stoped
😲
This is why I say never trust a ford because when you do this happens
HAHA
do it again)))
Let's not...
Cheap headbolts.
Thanks for the comment
the block split, means to much cylinder pressure from to high compression and to much boost.
That's not good 😲
Definitely not.
