    thank you so much for posting this--my battery on my laptop is on its last leg and i'm trying to figure out how to replace it myself since every computer repair store i've talked to is giving me the run-around! i'm a college student and depend so heavily on this laptop that i can't afford to leave it very long with a repair shop. if i'm only replacing the battery, will i need to remove the cable next to it before lifting the battery up like you did? or did you only do that since you're doing a complete disassembly? thank you so much!!!

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  2 года назад +3

      To help you become a better student, I'm going to ask you a question. Please don't be offended or get upset. People need to be able to think for themselves. It's a very important skill. Don't just blindly accept what people say. You have to be analytical and think about why something is being done. I've noticed a lot of viewers ask questions that can be answered with a little thinking about how and why things work the way they do. It's how I take apart computers that I've never seen before.
      I like how you ask whether the cable needs to be removed or not, meaning you are thinking about why, but from the video, you should be able to get your answer. The cable is held with adhesive onto the battery and then it is latched down, so you should be able to imagine what would happen if you just pull the battery out without removing the cable.
      So my question to you is. What would happen if you replaced the battery without removing the cable?

    • @katieweber6598
      @katieweber6598 2 года назад +1

      @@ItsBinhRepaired ahh, well i suppose i have my answer :) from what i could see in the video, i couldn't tell whether the cable was attached to the battery itself or attached to something in the blue area above it. i am not very computer savvy, if you couldn't tell. i would only assume that if i ripped the battery out with the cable still attached, it'd be a huge no-no. since i didn't realize the cable was attached to the battery and not the areas surrounding it, i was thinking that i may be able to work around it, but now that i know it's attached to the battery itself, i have my answer. thanks so much for your help!! :)

    • @ItsBinhRepaired
      @ItsBinhRepaired  2 года назад +1

      @@katieweber6598 Yup, they stuck it down on top of the battery with double stick tape. Stupid design if you ask me. The tape is unnecessary and they could have designed it to go underneath. All part of their plan to make things harder to repair. You can cover the tape with something after removing it, so when you put it back it won't stick back down and will be easier to replace the battery in the future. Make sure when pulling the tape up that you don't crease the cable. Try to keep it as flat as possible.

    thanks a lot for sharing this tutorial; I wanted to ask why in the first place you had to replace the keyboard. I have the same laptop and two diagonals of keys are most of the time no longer working (6, z, h, n and 7, u, j, m)...I tried to reset the keyboard ribbon connector from the motherboard, tried also the cleaning using a rubber, plus adding some plastic tape to create more pressure...but nothing worked...just wondering if you had the same problem and had to replace the entire keyboard at last. Not sure I can do this myself, I'm afraid that sending it for repair is going to cost as much as a new machine with similar characteristic. Appreciate you feedback, thanks a lot!! :)

Before I fall on your video, i disassembled this laptop because usb and lid closure were disfunctional months after kids fell it on the floor. Luckily I was able to discover that the small USB module was disconnected from the board and I was able to restitute these 2 functionalities. But what is unfortunate is while reassembling, I touched the fan header with the metallic cutter and of course I didn't take power draining measures as you say in this video. So I saw a spark and some electric odor burning :( I was expecting the laptop will not run at all again but wifi and audio are not functioning anymore. To avoid paying and changing a complete motherboard, I bought an external wifi and it's working. But for the audio, do you think the speakers are damaged only or the card itself which I suppose integrated on the board is damaged? Is it possible that the audio adapter is these speakers themselves? If only speakers I can order the same but if it's motherboard related then I have as well to buy some external audio USB adapter.

    Ok so I have both this laptop, and keyboard problem.., but I can't see the benefits for this teardown if simply replacing the entire keyboard.., furthermore.., and thank you, but due to this complete keyboard teardown, it clearly doesn't make me feel like I have a chance in hell at repairing whatever it is exactly that has caused some of my keys to stop working. Analogous to a cracked SD card.., can you solder it back into working condition..?., Nope.., glue, tape, plastic weld, heat gun, or dip in resin to make it usable again..? NOPE, sure the Hell can't.., .., even a broken mirror or window could be re-liquidified and made into a newly functioning product., .., so just purchase the entire keyboard replacement. Cuz how much is the difference in cost really.? $5, maybe $10 bucks.., not to mention the amount of time, and almost guarantee that you will have to repair something along the way into the initial repair., LoL.., almost like wiping before you poop., kinda silly huh. Great job for doing what I was considering.., cheers

      The internal battery is the rtc battery, but if you force powered off the computer when doing a bios update, the bios chip is gone. It won't reset or roll back. You had to leave it on the black screen for several minutes. People are messing up their computers being impatient and turning it off while in the process.
