April wine has wandered many roads! They would do well to stay within a style that they could fully stick with! That being said,they almost do well at whatever road they head down! I would love to hear more of a hard rock sound,even harder than Back To The Mansion. Wherever they go,i will follow, Always a little disappointed, yet hopefull the next road will be their zenith, never fully seen,it seems!
"Always a little disappointed", strong statement. Highs n lows may be more accurate. I to follow where ever they go, including the the last decade of releases by Myles Goodwyn. They lacked one thing, a 'unique twist on promotion'. Good gets lost in the crowd, different or outrageous gets attention. Capital Records, just blood suckers. They always reminded me of 'Don King' kinda stuff. I have 16 studio, 6 live and 8 Greatest Hits type album's. Lost track after 40 plus concerts attended; Myles Goodwyn n April Wine are what they are, simply one of the best guitar bands ever to emerge from Canada.
Ummm.....maybe you wanted them to be like AC/DC ??? .... great stuff but monochromatic. April Wine mastered several styles and each style had several good songs. You don't like some styles of rock apparently, so that is your limitation, not theirs. Your disappointment is misplaced as they had the ability to master every style they touched (with the exception of their first album which was pitiful, except for Fast Train which was not in the style of the rest of the songs on the album).
