I mean, technically the korg monotron kicked off the cheap small analog synth revolution with stuff like the monotron. they basically pioneered the idea of small and cheap and proved to the world analog could be done like that, they then put that engine into the monotribe which came out before the minibrute, arturia took it a step further and made it more like a proper actual synth instrument for people in bands or musicians to play with loads of potential for patching. but the concept was done and the new analog revolution was kick started by korg. the brute is an amazing synth, but I wish they used different physical knobs, they often had a problem with getting really grimey and sticky. thanks for including the information about yves usson and his amazing work, great bit of history there.
Your right, thats spot on! Those Korg products came first so yeah Im kinda wrong with my history, thanks for pointing that out, I even bought the Monotron when it came out lol. Yeah theres that rubber used on the Minibrute which goes all sticky with age, also thanks for your other comment, very kind, different kind of knob playing tennis badly😂
