Hey all, this video was a special request because with different cities still under lockdown, not many people have access to sewing / notions shops like FabricLand or JoAnn's, or they might not be comfortable going shopping for non-essential reasons. If buying online is too prohibitive in cost and buying local is not possible, this "cheat" might tide you over until you can access longer laces.
@@towandaludidi714 I can help you! If you watch the measuring tutorial on this page and send me your measurements, I can recommend a size and style of corset that will fit you best: lucycorsetry.com/measurements/
Something else unrelated, but I wonder if maybe undoing the very top lace from the grommets would help with corset overflow or the "upper back bulge" so to speak. Maybe it's a negligible amount but I guess it's worth a try. That's one of the reasons I haven't gotten into wearing corsets out, even though I want to, I have a lot of extra skin from weight loss that tends to get pushed up no matter the length of the corset.
If the corset has a modesty panel in the back, then one less criss-cross lacing at the top will likely be negligible for making the upper back spillover better or worse. But I showed a corset without a modesty panel here just to make the tutorial clear. :) But if it makes you feel any better, over 80% of people squish upwards even if they haven't fluctuated in weight!
Thank you Lucy, yes I figured as much honestly. Any other suggestions on how to eliminate or at the very least reduce the spill, whether it be from weight or excess skin? I'll see if you've already posted a video on this topic, in case I missed it, though I try to be fairly diligent in keeping up with your vids lol
@@Satrina777 You might just need more space at the back compared to the front. So if it were a custom corset, you could mention the need for extra space there and that could be done. With off the rack you can order something with a larger ribspring, but it will be more evenly spread throughout the corset. Other options are teaming the corset with a longline bra or something similar to keep the line smoother.
I wonder if, given that usually the slack is only needed at the waist, whether pulling the back into a shape allowing more lace length at the waist while sacrificing a bit at the top and bottom would work. I don’t know if it would do any long term damage to the flat bones at the centre back, because you’d only be doing it for 30 seconds and then you’d be tightening it || again
I've seen this in super old & floppy corsets that have been used for years (for instance, one of Phoenix's oldest and most popular lacing videos had this) and the back lacing bones have warped, although it's hard to say what was the cause of warping exactly. I tend to eschew anything that risks warping the bones, especially in cases where the corsets are new and within the return/exchange window and you just want to see if the corset will fit you properly once laced in.
i would like to know a few things first how much money do you spend on your corsets? second is i am a plus size women, and i want to start wearing a corset how large is the largest corset size i can get with the company you wear from? and third is i don't have much of a wast, what would you wear in this case?.
Hi Mar, I’ve spent probably close to $20,000 on corsets over the last 10-12 years, over 200 different corsets from over 50 different brands and companies, but not all at once. I would buy a few to test and review, then sell them off gently used once I was finished, and put the money from that sale towards a new corset. That way I’ve been able to get back usually 50-75% what I originally spent on the corset. The largest size I’ve seen in OTR corsets is about 46” or 48” waist, which will fit a natural waistline of probably 58”. There are custom corsets that go up to 60” and those will fit natural waists up 70-74”. If you’d like me to help you find something that will fit, you’re welcome to fill out my contact form and I’ll get back to you within a day: lucycorsetry.com/measurements/
hiya how often do you have to re-lace your corset ? i’ve noticed if it’s not newly laced it’s not as smooth to tighten and one bunny ear eventually ends up way longer than the other
Hi Nay, I almost never relace my corsets! If you have lopsided bunny ears you don’t need to completely relace. Just use my tutorial linked here, and keep a knot at both top and bottom to prevent them from getting too uneven in the future. ruclips.net/video/oCoqPXLIKAM/видео.html

What a great idea. Especially during this pandemic.
Literally, BLESS YOU. I just got a corset for back support and the laces have made seasoning it SO HARD. You're a life saver

Would that help with allowing the bottom part of the boning to bend over a shelf butt? 🤔😆
Haven’t thought about it before. If you try it, let me know 😆
