I was sitting between Kallenhardt and Spiegelkurve with a good friend when the hailstorm came. One of the first parts of the track that were hit by the storm. As soon as we saw the clouds I went to get our umbrellas from the campsite at Metzgesfeld and it started to rain a few moments after I came back. Just a few more minutes and the footpath was nothing more than a river.
But my friend took awesome pictures of the cars acting like boats 😆
48:35 very important to catch the slipstream in this situation. But remember: less downforce in high speed corners! hehe
I'm sure at Brünnchen campground there's a tactical barbecue grill platoon, cooking just the right sort of sausages to distract selected drivers (by order of lowest bribe). This also means, there has to be a classified excel sheet of which driver likes which sausages.

@@commandergeokam2868 no, I think he is talking about the fans as there were none allowed in 2020. It was very quiet according to a friend of mine who worked as a track marshall there.
I only drive there in simulations (as you can see on my channel here) because of mostly the same reason as you.

I was just wondering if they have a similar process with tires like F1. Every team gets an assorted set for the season or per race? Would like to know.
The 24h Nürburgring is a single event, so there can't be limited sets per season. But for the race: AFAIK, money is the limiting parameter here.
@@jonas.7567 Well, it counts to the VLN series (now NLS) but many teams enter only this race
@@Kerbhunter_Alex No, you can't get points in the 24h for the NLS Championship. But you're right that many teams only do one or two NLS races for training and are not seen anymore after the 24h.

you would pass 0 cars if you where in that class
24 Hours race so it's not just about overtaking, it's about surviving 24 hours with the car aswell.
Race strategy... Tire degradation... and defending an army from behind that wants to cut his throat if he makes a mistake, ...((that may be faster than him for a short period with a more aggressive strategy)) all play apart here...!
More importantly....its a 24 hr race ! Not a 1 or 2 hour Sprint... 😆 lol
He is a very good driver and it's just the start of the race. You also have to consider he is racing a car of a private team. Not one of the very well founded semi-works teams. So they might approach it a little bit more conservatively.
