I was Tyler Haw's Bishop, Stake President and Friend. I know first hand of his hard work and unyielding dedication. He is honest and upright and as great a basketball player that he undeniably is, he is a better Priesthood Man!
I just found this wonderful video today and while reading the comments, yours jumped out at me. We do not know one another; however, I believe you are someone I should know!! Your comments were amazing and I feel a great example how we can not only lift one another up, but be happy to see others do it! Thank you so much for the wonderful comment . According to the post, it was made 3 years ago and I find the sentiment is still relevant today
That's incredible
My name is Dallas and I am 6 years old. I want to be just like Tyler. You are a great basketball player. I think your the bestest one I know. I hope I can serve a mission and still play basketball. I want to play for BYU or UVA. They can both really use me one day. Thank you Tyler
I Believein you dude. I too share the same goal. My names Hunter.
I know this is late but I wish you the best I hope that you haven't given up in your dream brother.
@@hunternabs7159 Goodluck to you too it has been 6 months. This is a time when we are limited and can't practice outside but we can be stronger through preparing I wish to see you someday when you are in BYU playing basketball.
I remember writing down the quote, "'If you work as hard as you can, good things will happen."on my mirror in college. I worked hard and I can testify that good things have happened in my life. My career now is a result of writing that quote on my mirror.
'If you work as hard as you can, good things will happen!" -Tyler Haws
I love how he shows the value of diligent practice. We have endless potential. THAT is worth being excited for.
My brother is on a mission in Anaheim, California right now and while I miss him, I know he's where he needs to be! It has been such a blessing to my family to see him grow so much spiritually.
By the way, I love how wherever you go church buildings look the same! It gives me a taste of home whenever I'm away.
I'm a work in progress
Is what he oft says
Keeping his promise
Made in childhood days
Being one to labor
And give his best shot
He'd represent the Savior
On a mission, giving all he's got
I just attended the open house of the new MTC here in the Philippines, and Elder Haws is the one who shared a testimony after this video clip was played to us. He's a very good example of sacrifice and obedience.
"To be a priesthood man is a lot more important than all of the other things." Love it.
I never was an athlete, but as a musician I felt much the same about my talent, hard work, and going on my own mission to Brazil.
Thanks, Ty for being an example of faith and dedication to young people today.
This is also a story of a great dad.
i drive on the road by the MTC almost every day to go to dance practice. it always makes me smile to see the young men, dressed in their Sunday best, walking from the temple to the MTC. i'm so grateful to be a member of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints! :)
Tyler haw is one of the rare guy on this earth
"When we work as hard as we can, good things can happen!"
You don't know how you inspired us. Thank you for serving in our Zone Taguig Zone Philippines. You leave a legacy for us for your good example. Thank you so much.
I am a Mia-Maid in my ward. I am VERY passionate about Ballroom Dancing, and I want to go to BYU for my dancing. I know the day will come when I will skip the dancing, and go on a Mission. And I have decided to go on a mission when I was a kid, watching my older brothers and sisters go on a mission.
Tyler thank u r a really good example for me especially because i play bball to
i am only 10 yrs old mormon of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints
I decided to go to the church and practice like Tyler did and I ended up becoming the Most Improved player of my team after we won state.
I hope my future sons grow up to just like Tyler.
Elder Haws is serving in the best mission in the world- Philippines Quezon City Mission. His trainer was my last zone leader. Small world.
He's serving on our ward right now. :D We watched this video on our MYC. He's very nice. He's a very great example to all the youth. It's awesome that he chose to go on a mission. I consider him my role model. :) I'm going on a mission too!
My boys used to LOVE watching Tyler play at Lone Peak when we lived in Highland. We LOVED this video! What a guy! As the mother of 5 boys I am so grateful for great role models like Tyler!
I felt that my heart is melted ♥️ 👍🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍😇😇😇😇😇😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😃😃😃😃😀😀😀
Tyler Haws rocks!!!!!!
😀
I agree
He is an inspiration to everybody.
he was assign here in the Philippines and he is very great and very hardworking..God bless people like him who become a great missionary...
Thank you for being such a wonderful example. Having two boys who love BYU basketball so much, who loved watching you play last year. It means a lot that you recognized where your gifts, talents and work ethic come from. Way to give back! Can't wait to see you play in a year and a half.
This videos makes me cry
He realized where all of his talent came from......Way to give it back to the Lord!
Great to see Bro Hawk serve his mission in the Philippines. Mabuhay! Thanks for sharing this video. Hard work makes you a man.
I love it! Work hard Tyler, then come home and tear it up on the court.
WOW , my heart is filled with the spirit !!! truly amazing and inspiring thank you so much ! great!!!
Oh this young man is so easy to love and admire!!!!
i can't wait to see Tyler come back in two years.
i know he's doing awesome over there. i was in the Manila mission (borders Quezon City mission) and I know he's loving it. ----- Elder Haws, Balik ka rito sa atin ng may mas malakas na hangarin na sumunod ng mga kautusan ng Diyos. Babasbasan ka. Manatiling ka masipag. Very inspiring story. Ingat kaibigan
Great video. Anyone that's observed Tyler knows his whole being screams dedication. I'm sure he's a great elder and I can't wait to see him back at BYU.

Dude I never even knew this video even existed, but this Sunday, I was scrolling through the content and I saw this and I'm like, "LETS GO!!" I am a HUGE BYU fan, and Tyler Haws is such an inspiration, and man, this spiritual journey is so empowering. As I start my journey at BYU, this powerful message will definitely lift me up and help me through those trials. Thanks bro.
Wow. I never thought I would also see Brother Bolambao at the end of this video.
byu is awesome
SUU is better
Great video. I can't wait to see number 49.

I love it!
Awesome video! I love how this video is about hard work and where it can lead you!
Love this inspiring video
This video reminds me of David Archuleta who is doing the same thing, leaving music to serve on a full time mission :')
Awesome video!!

LDS NZ Dunedin Stake

And he gets back this December. :)
Philippines...
Now im like, oh, that was TJ haws from byu in here? Now that tyler graduated
Haha, I wonder what basketball would be like on P-Day for the other missionaries!
🏀❤️🏀
Haws at the line 2 shots
I wonder how it felt to be Tyler just going on a mission and leave BYU and basketball and his own family just to go on a mission.
Now he's back in his senior year and one of the best BYU players ever and one of the best in the country. I bet he is happy
Brigham Stone I agree with you. It would really suck but he has wanted to do that ever since he was little. But want to hear what is so swag! He is back and he is going to be in for the NBA DRAFT! So I think that he is going to be one of the best basketball players in the league of the NBA. That is a big statement but, "Hard Work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard!"
PHilippines :D
143 straight free throws!!!
I Know that guy!
When he was a missionary, our dog bites him haha
Just once I want to see a video where someone chooses not to go on a mission, and it's okay, and they can still be seen as a good example.
I can tell thats the gym at their lds church.
BYU is just too good for college basketball!!!
he is still in the mission field?
What's the name of that song?
Like if you are lds!
nice
@bboyvietstylez Hey that's a great question! I'm a Mormon, and we do call ourselves Christians as well. It's a common misconception, and many people don't understand that we believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of all mankind. We also believe in the Bible (like the Old Testament and New Testament) as our Bible, we just have more scripture like the Book of Mormon. When you get a chance you should go to Mormon.org and check out some of our other beliefs.
Why dose he want to be a basketball player
because its his dream
Leslie Hall Because basketball is awesome!🏀
