Paddling on the opposite side is a must. You talked about changing the foil. That wing will fly you, no problem. If you watch the video, your nose never goes past neutral. If you think about what the foil has to do to fly, it needs to have the rise and then glide (nose pointed down). Your body currently stays behind the point to get the nose down to glide. Review your video, watch how the nose never dips down. This is super important to build speed. At the perfect timing and rythmn, your body needs to rocker back and forward to get the board to rise and glide. You got the rise part but are stalling the building of speed by never allowing the "glide". Think about it as jumping and getting both heels off the board (front heel will probably not leave the board because the nose is rising), but the heels need to leave because you are lounging forward.) Most important is to reach way forward with the paddle. It does 2 things. Gets your C of G over and past your front foot (pivot point) and gets you a bigger catch of water. When you have it right, the back end of the board will explode out of the water, you will see the entire board rise out of the water flatter and your nose will past neutral as you gain speed. Stay with it, there are a few milestones that you will need to pass yet. Flat water paddle up is a long game. Very rewarding though...

Strange paddling technique. I've tried the takuma II 1400 with a dragonfly 110L and I couldn't lift either.

@@jaybutton_plz haha no worries! with a better paddle technique and some practice you'll soon get it, even with the flexy paddle you were getting some foil lift there which is all you need and more than I got for ages
