- Make & Perform the Empty Magic Box - Easy Magic Trick, DIY Craft: Vanish and Produce Like Magic // Learn this easy magic trick with a box that appears empty but allows you to magically make objects appear from an empty box. And if you like, you can place the object back into the box and make it disappear or vanish. This is an easy magic trick that anyone can do to make objects appear and disappear.
This easy magic trick that allows for appearances and vanishes is great for beginners and kids as it's easy to learn and perform. Another plus, it can be made in different sizes to produce a variety of objects of different sizes. You can make this prop and kids can perform the trick at school assemblies, and for class presentations in school or sunday school, or at Scout pack meetings and Blue & Gold events and at talent nights.
This is a DIY magic trick project that you craft yourself. Most of the craft materials should be easily found around the house or are obtained from craft stores. Most households will probably already have the key secret item in some form to construct this magic prop.
We walk you throught the process of making and performing the trick through our step-by-step video lesson. While this is a great trick for the kids to perform, an adult will probably have to help younger kids with the construction of the magic prop. But even if an adult makes the prop, kids can decorate the box as they wish. With the help of a grown up, kids can make objects appear from an empty box.

This is cool. I think Marshall Brodien made something similar in the '70s. Vanishes are my favorite.
As a kid, I never had a Brodien kit but did have the svengali and "Miracle" decks and the rice bowls. I don't remember him having this particular prop. Thanks for the note and best regards.

Very nice! This one I figured out how it would be, the tutorial to build and perform is always of great valeu! I have been following for a week and performed some basic tricks to my daughter (she is 2 y 4 m old, so doesnt take much to amaze her) and she always likes and keeps asking for more magic :). I did the coin vanish with the lid and the ball and cups one with things I had around. One question: do you think those basic magic kits (around 20-25 dollars) are worth it? I would just use It now myself to play more with my daughter, and maybe when older she can play also and make some tricks to friends. Thanks for the content!
Hello Kauer Cappellari: Thanks for writing and I'm so pleased to hear that you like the video lessons. While I try to fill the channel with tricks that one can create from household and basic craft materials, I do find that beginning magic sets can be useful. Be warned. A common, misleading marketing trick with these sets is that they promise hundreds of "professional" magic tricks, but there are only props to perform maybe ten tricks and the rest of the tricks are simply inadequate explanations in a simple booklet. It depends on the set itself as they vary in quality, but magic sets can provide an introduction to a variety of magic and the props are already made for you. Hope that helps. Best regards.

Instead of a mirror can you use black duct tape?
Yes, you could create a black interior. You might find the trick box in this lesson interesting because it’s designed specially for a black interior as it’s secret.
