Doug Ford and Unifor call on feds to provide cash for new Line 2 subway trains

- Premier Doug Ford and Canada's largest private sector union issued a joint statement Wednesday calling on the federal government to kick in the cash needed to replace the TTC's aging Line 2 subway trains.
"Thousands of workers in Thunder Bay, where the subway trains are made, and millions of transit riders are depending on the federal government funding its share of the project," Ford and Unifor President Lana Payne said in their statement.

The TTC already gets the most tax money from Toronto at $1.231 billion and the service is crap. TTC used to have over 1 million riders per day, down to 400,000 people, this is why they need more money.

All of the tax revenue our city makes goes to the feds and the province to subsidize the rest of the country. We’re 15% of the country’s gdp and get nothing.

If the Toronto Transit Commission wants to be like Washington D.C. (Metrorail), Chicago (CTA), and New York City (MTA) subway, the TTC should propose to continue delivering T-Series Production Set of Trains that are all ATC-Equipped from TTC Alstom, Bombardier or Kawasaki T2, T4, T5 to T6 after the TTC Bombardier T1's.
Imagine still living in Toronto lol. Those new trains will be jam packed with immigrants within days, and everything will suck just as much as ever.
All SUBWAY SYSTEMS IN CANADA Will be DOA.
All PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS Should be OWNED BY THE PUBLIC!
