Fallout 4 - Building at Oberland Station 02 (North Gatehouse)

This is the second part of my Building at Oberland Station series, which covers the construction of my settlement at Oberland Station. Apart from Place Everywhere no settlement object mods were used, and only features vanilla and DLC objects.
In this video I construct a gatehouse on the northern border of the settlement alongside the railroad tracks. This features two elevated guard platforms linked by a walkway, underneath these are two small buildings that will later become a Power Armour workshop and settler housing.

I keep picking up little tips from watching your videos, like using the bridges as supports for overhanging parts of the build. I don't know why it never occurred to me. I guess you just have more imagination than I do!

In the past I've shifted the concrete foundation out to line up better with those overhanging outer cap walls but what you did here with the backwards warehouse wall as a support looks good too. I'll have to try to remember that one.

Thanks - I did not like the way the wall sat on the foundation and so tried to find a way to make it look a little more supported and not so flat. Never thought of just shifting the foundation (or now to think of it the wall itself) and will have to see how that looks at some point 👍

@@FiddleflapsVids When it's a scrappy wood foundation it looks OK hanging off but it's always looked weird when there is a good solid concrete foundation and then the wall is just hanging out in thin air. I do like your solution and it also gives a bit of needed texture to the somewhat bland looking concrete.

I am lucky that my PC seems to run Fallout 4 really well, and I also have a fairly light mod list so that helps too! Recording seems a little more hit and miss and in some vids I get some weird stuttering which I don’t see in game, but I guess you can’t have everything 🤷‍♂️
