I am a swimmer and I have trouble with staying in the present moment and not being distracted when I am up at the blocks. This helped me and was very entertaining. Thank you!

      Adam,
Glad to hear that! Controlling your focus of concentration is a learned skill and with practice, you can get really good at recognizing whenever you lose focus and bringing yourself back quickly before it adversely affects your race performance!
The trick here is to not worry about whenever you drift! The key is catching it immediately and resetting your focus. I'd suggest that you look at my video that talks about pre-performance rituals/routines. One of the keys to keeping your focus behind the blocks is by having specific things that you regularly do leading up to your race, (Stretching in a certain way, jumping up and down, listening to music, etc.) These rituals provide you with a place to put your concentration which will distract you from the distractions!

Hello Alan. I am a professional snooker coach, snooker is similar to Billiards. I have a question please, you mention concentrating on the now and the action. In regards to this is what your saying meaning on how you approach the shot and the technique itself or only the shot itself and allowing the subconscious part of the brain to take care of the mechanics? I have always believed in being aware of how im doing the action to help control the mind to stay focused
