    You are soooooo right !!! I made a compulsive purchase and its better than the Middleton and all others in this size. They could come down with the price a bit. This is now my new travel speaker. Very Impressive Sound !!!

      thanks for this input, i was considering this or the middleton- waiting for the soundlink max to come to my store so I can get it at (a small) discount, theres really no other options for a speaker this portable, durable, with superior sound, AND aux support. i’ll take your word that it’s better than the middleton, just gotta wait a bit longer 🫡

    comparing this to the competition, bose really delivered on this very specific category. it’s more portable than a JBL extreme or Sonos MOVE, infinitely better sounding than any of sony’s speakers-with no unecessary gimmicks like ult/bass mode-it brings the modern standard of usb-c, as well as having the option for lossless playback via AUX. the only direct competitor to this very niche list of traits is the marshall middleton, at least from what I could gather. and while the price is much steeper at 100-150 more, the soundlink max does seem like it is the superior option for sound

      I would love to try the Marshall! I also asked JBL for a loaner but they haven’t responded. Scared, maybe? I tried the original Soundlink yesterday and there is no comparison. I know it’s expensive, but the Soundlink Max is an incredible piece of gear.

    I have 2 Bose soundlink flex. If someone know if 2 Flex in stereo mode will sound better than the new Max?

      Keep the flex speakers, Bose is working on a firmware to connect the Max to the flex.

    I’m not saying that this speaker sounds better than the Bose, but overall is a much better value for what it offers compared to the Bose, at a much more affordable price of $129.99. Right now it’s on sale on Amazon for$109.99.
    The Soundcore Boom 2.

    • @BoxesUponBoxesReviews

      I reviewed that speaker. It is a good value for the money but not in the same class as Bose.

    • @stevekatz3832
      @stevekatz3832 22 дня назад +1

      That’s the rub…how does it compare to other speakers? At 4x the cost and 3x the size of my JBL Flip 5-which still amazes me-does it delivers 4x the audio experience?
      Like much in tech life it probably boils down to the use-case.
      If the use-case includes “will almost certainly get you laid” then I may get out credit card.
      Otherwise I am hard-pressed to want to see the value proposition.

      @@stevekatz3832 For the money spent, the Soundcore Boom2 is pretty close to the Bose at a fraction of the cost.

    Im a bose fan but soundcore products are awesome i have the boom 2,soincore motion, and select pro. I ditched my soundflex, mini, and my sountouch for soundcore products. They are cheaper but sound quality they are awesome.

      I recently tested the Soundcore 2 Boom. I love that speaker at its price point. But it doesn't come close to the Bose SoundLink Max.

    My stereo paired mono soundlink flex speakers are still a near audiophile experience
    A major YES to this $400 120 watts powerhouse but I'll wait until pairing mode is released so I can spend $800 for 2 speakers 🔊 🔊

    If you plan on using it inside only, sure. For outdoor use, there’s better & cheaper options for the money being spent.
    For around the same price, you can get the EXTREME 4 which was made & designed specifically for outdoor use.

      @@computerpwn Yeah, JBL should’ve made a handle on it. However, it does come with a shoulder strap & it really isn’t that much larger than the Bose.

    Damnit, I have so many expenses right now I can't really afford another purchase like this, but now I "need" it! Maybe I'll just get it anyways... ;)
    In terms of low base in small format, Audio Pro is a brand that tend to do that. I've had a T9 for probably 10 years or so, but it seems to have stopped working recently (and it's slightly bigger, narrow sound stage and no battery). Think it's specced to go down to 45Hz, which is impressive for its size, but I bet this Bose Soundlink Max does something similar.

    • @BoxesUponBoxesReviews
      @BoxesUponBoxesReviews  24 дня назад +1

      I couldn't find any specs on the Bose, but while running a bass frequency sweep I think it kicked-in around 30Hz. I have a 15" sub on my main system and that is better of course, but for its size, the Soundlink Max has outstanding low frequency response. As for justifying another purchase, we all have a birthday coming up, right? ;)

    I bought a Bose sound link 2 years ago assuming it would sound good…. It was horrible!!
    I spent a lot on it for bt speaker and it was a total mess. I gave it away then bought a jbl flip for a fraction of the cost of the Bose and it sounded great.
    Bose is crap, they get by on past reputation but there’s no substance.

      The sound is very good. My only issue right now is not being able to stereo pair it. They say it's coming, but Bose tends to drag it's feet on stuff like that.
